I’ve been to this facility multiple times to visit the 6th floor opthalmology center. Overall this facility is fairly modern and clean. While I have no complaints about the doctors or care that I have received, I do have two complaints regarding wait time and parking. First off, it’s not uncommon to wait about 2 hours if you have an appt. with one of the more prominent doctors in the opthalmology dept. And if you have an appt. to see two doctors, I have spent as long as 4 hours in that facility — so make sure to bring a book! While waiting in an exam room, I have found that wi-fi service is virtually non-existent until you step back into the waiting room. My second complaint has to do with parking. They offer valet service for a cost of $ 5(plus tip), but on most occasions the drive-up area is jam packed with cars trying to be dropped off and valets coming out of the garage trying merge in to get cars back to their owners. It can be a royal cluster-F at times. When it gets bad like that, the lobby will be crammed packed with people waiting for their vehicles. Once the wait time was so long that the concierge was handing out free parking vouchers for the next visit. There’s a new parking garage about ½ a mile or ¾’s of a mile down the road(Corner of Harry Hines & Inwood), where you can park your car and take a shuttle bus to the Aston Center. The shuttles come by about every 10 — 15 minutes. As long as you get your parking validated from your doctor’s office, parking is free and its very convenient. Word of caution though, the shuttles stop running at 6:00 p.m. so make sure you allow plenty of time for your appt. to finish up or you may find yourself having to walk all the way back to the parking garage and hopefully you won’t be wearing high heels and a tight skirt!

This building contains clinics and diagnostic facilities for a number of the doctors and departments in the UTSW complex. My experience here has been as a patient of the urology department on the 9th floor. I’ve also had some x-rays taken on the 7th floor. The building is fairly modern, but not overdone on the décor. Valet parking is available in front of the building for $ 5, but that will also get you valet parking at any of the other buildings in the complex that day, so if you have multiple appointments, stack them. If you want to self park, there’s a lot below the new Parkland hospital that has bus service; get your ticket stamped by your provider, and that parking is free. Wi-fi is provided throughout the building, and I get a good Verizon LTE signal there as well, so you can definitely stay connected while you wait. Overall, this place is a comfortable and welcoming facility, and if you have to go anyway, why not be comfortable?
