BYOB! Most of the time this place is BYOB as long as it’s not glass, so have a drink or six! Parking isn’t really that bad if you’re clever… go have a pic-nic at Klyde Park then go over… the lawn seats are just as good as the front seats if not better… Small enough to enjoy, large enough to enjoy… it’s a just right place…

Amazing outdoor setting for a concert. Walk to dinner, take a quick cab it back to the hotel.

Beautiful place for a concert. Outdoors in downtown with like-minded music fans and towering skyscrapers framing the vista… who would have thought this was possible in Dallas?!? Granted, when we went we hit the weather lottery and it was a PERFECT night. Seating is on blankets or bring-your-own low-legged folding chairs on a lush lawn. In fact I was wondering how the hell they got this grass so soft and green. It was good for srunching your toes in it. The pavilion is between the Winspear and Woodall Rogers Freeway. Clean restroom facilities are behind the seating area, although the women’s room capacity probably could have been increased somewhat based on the lines I saw at the sold out Old 97’s show. Bars along the right hand side of the seating area are raised up and afford a nice view and had outdoor lounge furniture for comfortable seating. In fact you can go up to the bar area and watch the performers from the side of the stage… always a good thing. They were selling food as well and the wafting smell of grilled meats was enticing. Best part was the people watching. I suggest getting a lawn position near one of the stairways leading to the lawn so you can ogle and bust on all the people you see. We were laughing about the perv-stache on this one guy who was vaping while hanging out on the stairway to the point where he looked at us and then walked up the stairs and away. «Damn it» I thought-«maybe we drove him away by staring at him». As it turned out, 20 minutes later he was playing bass on stage with«Black Joe Lewis» he probably just assimed we were admiring fans! BYOB. Nice sound quality.

This intimate, open-air venue is one of the rare few where you can BYOB — including alcoholic beverages for events ticketed through the AT&T Performing Arts Center box office. Small coolers must be soft-sided, and blankets are best. Leave tall folding chairs at home or you will have to check them outside the gate. All patrons, including those on the grassy, gently sloping tiered lawn, enjoy excellent views of the stage. Acoustics are surprisingly good given the proximity to Woodall Rodgers Freeway. Spectacular skyline views from within the downtown Dallas Arts District are a bonus.
