This funeral home brought shame to my family. From the moment I sat down with the funeral director, Allen Madison, to the day of the funeral has been extremely stressful. Way more distress on my family in a time of mourning than necessary. This funeral home not only tried to rob my mother of $ 3000 but also failed to get together everything that I laid out in an email for the obituary. Then tried to charge me imaginary fees that he makes it seem as if he’s giving you for free. He will say that his fees are no more than $ 3995 and then go up after you come back from getting the cemetery’s cost. He lied to me and told me that the vault would be $ 3000 come to find out the vault was only $ 775 and that his extra cost for the casket and various fees were the issue of there being a $ 3000 difference fromnwhatbhe originally quoted. Not only did he not get the obituary right but also robbed us of the moment of being able to close the casket as a family before his burial. The icing on the cake for me was when he demanded my mother pay $ 2221.60 the day before the funeral which was the night of the wake and put my mom in distress. He never made it clear that she had to pay the difference between the insurance policy and his balance due the day before the funeral and she had to borrow that money from a friend. He also went back-and-forth with me about the price, he started out at $ 10,000 and then went down to $ 8360, and then finally $ 7680. Which was still more than what other funeral homes were going to charge us to do the services that he was going to render. And then had the audacity to bring up his integrity which was a joke. His funeral director that he appointed to us had no tactful approach to being gentle in saying what she needed us to do, she demanded us to do things that she wanted us to do and didn’t give us the time that we really needed to mourn with our family and friends. And really experience the funeral and service for my grandfather. I would never recommend this place to anyone and everyone in the future that I hear even mention Evergreen or Allen Madison I will let them know about this experience. Lastly Mr. Madison knew my grandfather was a veteran and totally dropped the ball on requesting my grandfather’s TAPS playing at his burial ceremony, my mother had to come up to the funeral home 48 hours before the deadline to request it and force him to do the paperwork. This is totally unacceptable as my grandfather, father, and myself served and are still serving in the Army. And to you Mr. Madison you smile in my family’s face and try to rob them but you sir are a crook, I hope that one day you face God and answer for the things that you did to the people that were morning the loss of their loved ones. And you have the audacity to call yourself a man of God.
