Newly renovated food was great & plentiful. Good prices, friendly staff. Great menu! Fast service. Had lunch with old friends & stayed 2 hrs. & staff did not mind. Has a big deck which I assume will have tables in summer. Also looks like they will have an outside ice cream stand. Parking may be a problem when the summer visitors come. Busy for this little town so they must be doing something right because word gets around ! I plan on going back again with other friends & also have a date again there with the people I was with! Looking at other reviews the Country Café I went to is at the Y of routes 348&590 in Hamlin, Pa.

The food is very good. I got the Texas omelette. I was disappointed when I saw a hair in my food but the waitress handled it very nicely she is very sweet and brought me new potatoes. The environment is very chill and cozy.

Always go to the country café at least once every time that we’re at our trailer. We have had breakfast, Lunch and dinner and they have never failed us. I love the chicken salad and burger. My boyfriend likes the Turkey dinner and the prime rib special on Friday and Saturday nights. Highly recommend this spot to grab a bite.

I come here for breakfast at least once a month and the have the best breakfast around. The eggs are always cook perfectly and they have a good selection of breakfast meals. Their Eggs Benedict are very good and so are their specialty omlettes. Their home fries are seasoned well and always cooked well. They also have very reasonable prices.

I really like this café/restaurant/diner. I’ve been here a few times with my family and also a couple of friends. It’s interesting the outside front of it, looks more like a store than actually what it is; that’s because of the ridiculous fence that was put up by the owner of the property on the opposite side of the fence put up. When the fence was first put up, there was an explanation about the fence and it just goes to show you, that people can be vicious when it comes to money and business. I have given this café/restaurant/diner 4 stars because of the layout, rear entrance and parking lot, but the staff is super friendly and the food is consistent and delicious. They definitely shine with breakfast and lunch, and I haven’t been there for dinner yet. I’ll be sure to add to my review once I eat dinner there. I live in Brooklyn and come up to the Poconos as often as I can!

When we pulled up we thought we may have come to the wrong place as it looked like a construction supply from the stone façade. Upon entering the aroma of coffee mixed with grease filled my nostrils. We were quickly seated and served of beverages. The coffee was par for your average run of the mill diner and the OJ was delicious. One of my buddies had an omelet roasted peppers and mozzarella and the other an egg white omelet, both were very satisfied. I, on the other hand, had the«country boy» which was 3 eggs cooked any way, bacon, 2 pancakes, home fries, and a choice of sausage or ham… imho it wasn’t too good. I know everything I ordered is supposed to be greasy but this was too greasy. Service was good. All in all I guess it’s not too bad of a place to go to considering how limited the options are out here.

Great food for such a small restaurant. Will continue to eat there as long as I live nearby. Friendly staff.

Stopped here looking for some lunch. Viewed the menu and decided to try it. Started off well with some great homemade soup. Then went on to have a BLT. I ordered the Double BLT, and the other two with me ordered the single BLT. They either gave me a single, or it was just the same as the singles my friends got. The toast on all three sandwiches was over cooked, and made it hard to eat. It kind of tears up the roof of your mouth. I had a super free blueberry turnover for dessert, and it was excellent. Another order one of the large chocolate chip cookies, but it was only so-so. Too dry, and seemingly made with too much flour. Not at all chewy. Got crumbs all over when we tried to eat it. Waitress did off to explain anything on the menu, or suggest anything. I probably won’t return.

I come home every couple years to visit my family and friends in the area and this is probably the best place in Daleville I’ve found to eat out. The food was delicious I had the Ruben and Sweet Potato Fries which come with this delicious sugar cinnamon dip. The service was great and the prices are really reasonable!!! I look forward to eating here the next time I’m visiting.

I stopped into the Country Café for lunch, on a friend’s recommendation and out of curiosity about the controversial fence. For details on the fence, see the earlier review. Apparently the well-established restaurant across the street doesn’t like these folks around and seem to have the capability to harass them. Country Café was busy when I got there, shortly after one, with more than half the tables occupied. That’s a good sign. I tried the Reuben sandwich, fries and a glass of iced tea. The offering was good enough, the prices are reasonable, and if that’s what you’re looking for this may be the place for you. They’re open ’til 8, 9 on Fridays and Saturdays, and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast appears to be a specialty. Our not-so-friendly server was efficient but cold, abrupt and un-informative. Later, a «regular» popped in. With him it was all smiles and conversation. Sorry folks, everyone should feel special in your restaurant. Entry to the dining room is through a rear door off the parking lot where you’re greeted by a sign about the fence, «ask your server». From the door, you pass by the rest rooms and some items in the hallway there. The dining room is predominately lit by recessed fluorescents in the ceiling. It has the feel of a diner. Once the check is delivered, you go to the stand by the door to settle up. Credit cards are accepted.

Update: Not quite relevant to the review, but a little backstory about what’s going on with Country Café. Ive been here three more times since writing the review, with only great experiences. When we first came, there was a HUGE doub;e decker blue fence being built around the property, which I thought was very nice, personally, but on the last trip it was brown and the top half of it was removed. Still, the text sign of the restaurant was blocked off from a main road. Upon asking the waitress what was going on, here’s what’s up: Country Café used to be located in Kay’s Plaza directly behind the new location, which was owned by Arthur Something-or-other, who also is the proprietor of Kay’s Italian restaurant down the road a bit. One of the conditions of the previous lease set by the landlord, that guy Arthur, was that Country Café was NOT to serve Italian food as he also owns an Italian place and doesnt want to harbor direct competition. That’s fair enough. When Country Café moved down the street to their own building, Italian items are back on the menu, because you know… sovereign businesses can make sovereign business decisions about their practices… usually. Well, the crybaby Arthur Something-or-other decided to build a fence on his property, all the way around Country Café in the pathetic hope that nobody sees it(Seriously, bro?). In fact, enough research went into this malicious process that they found out blue suppresses appetite thus the big blue fence that you can see from the dining area; this was in hopes to reduce regular customers’ spending inside the restaurant. In the face of community backlash, the fence was painted brown, the second deck was removed but wall of shame remains. This is what’s wrong with American business practices these days, when the big guys who have too much can’t compete and have to make fools of themselves by playing dirty and embarrassing our free enterprise system. It happens on a big scale, and here it’s happening on a smaller scale. Also, this has the reverse result: it’s called the Streisand effect. Any dope with an internet connection and five minutes could learn that this sleazeball move would probably impact Counry Café’s business for the better. And it looks like it has; the place looks more and more packed for breakfast every time I step inside. Absolutely atrocious move by the owner of a SHOPPINGPLAZAAND A RESTAURANT who is scared that Country Café’s chicken parm is going to outdo theirs. Make a better chicken parm and quit your crying. I’ve never been to Kay’s Restaurant and I don’t ever plan on going, that’s for sure. Either way, their Unilocal reviews and word-of-mouth reviews have been completely subpar, anyway. Long live the little guy. Keep it going, Country Café. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – Country Café is actually on the corner of Kay’s Plaza now by Drinker Turnpike, not the old location listed in Kay’s Plaza. I honestly didn’t want to go here because I thought the front entrance was way too ‘loud’: lots and lots of written text about what they offer inside in terms of food and I was put off by that; it’s just a bias I carry about restaurants that do that. I would soon learn that this was a silly habit, and the adage of ‘Don’t judge a book by it’s cover” applies. I was so pleasantly surprised, I not only intend to stop by Country Café whenever I’m in town, I recommend it to others who are passing through. I live in Brooklyn and I work in Manhattan. You’d think when it comes to reuben sandwiches I’m set, huh? You’d think wrong! Sure, we have great reubens but the one I ordered from Country Café is the one I’d choose to have in front of me whenever I get a craving. Their grilled Reuben is perfect; the pastrami is great, the bread is soft but crispy, the proportions of sauerkraut to meat is solid and the sweet potato fries complement the sandwich well. We came here twice in three days and were overly impressed by the food, the incredibly friendly staff and the big, sunny dining area. Since the restaurant is a new construction, it’s super clean and pleasant. Breakfast was fantastic, too. Bacon pancake was interesting and delicious, and the corn beef hash a friend ordered impressed. I honestly can’t remember everything that was ordered but it was all perfect. I can be a coffee snob and I loved the coffee here. Overall, I can’t recommend this little joint that could enough.

This business recently reopened around the corner from its previous location. We are truly glad to see it back up and running as it is a great local place to grab breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have daily specials posted on a wall chalkboard. On Friday nights one of those specials is Prime Rib of Beef which is properly cooked and enjoyable. Their chili is excellent too.
