Steak ‘n Shake

Here’s the deal. We had to wait for at least 20 minutes to be seated and there was nobody in front of us and there were open tables. The host looked right through us as 3 other parties of what I’m pretty sure were students from the college came in and were seated immediately. I’m pretty sure they don’t take reservations. I was in a pretty patient mood so I let it slide but then finally had to say something to the guy. He acted like it offended him that I asked but did get us seated. I did make sure I told the lady who rang me up at the end when she asked how was everything.
What saved the visit was that this may have been the best food I’ve ever had at S&S and our server was very good. They just need to straighten out the host with the red curly hair up front. Maybe he should be on the grill instead of greeting the customers!

I have been twice, both times have been excellent, seated immediately, order taken quickly and drink was brought right away. I tried the grilled cheese steak burger and fries from the $ 4 menu, delicious, fries were crispy, the meal was nicely done for the money. It was happy hour (2p-​5p), so I ordered a Heathbar milkshake and it was awesome! As these were all high calorie high fat items, I will need to dial back at my next visit, which looks to be easy as they do offer some healthier items. Great place for an occasional splurge, highly recommend!

My wife and I had a very negative experience at this Steak and Shake. This particular location had just recently opened and we were excited because it is now the closest Steak and Shake to us. We are long — time Steak and Shake patrons. Imagine our dismay when we were refused to be seated at a booth as requested. There were plenty of booths available and most that were occupied had only two people. When I asked why we couldn’t sit at one of the unoccupied booths I was told that the booths were reserved for only large parties. I explained that we had never in all the many years as patrons been refused to sit at a booth. The waitress simply frowned and said «Well you are being refused now. It is Steak and Shake’s pilicy.» Take the small table for two or leave. We of course left. We promptly drove 30 miles to one of our favorite Steak and Shakes. Even though they were rather busy, we were given a booth with a smile. News Flash Steak and Shake of Dahlonega Georgia … Learn to be courteous and provide the best service to everyone, especially to senior citizens.
The occupied booths had younger patrons. I wonder if this locale, or possibly just the waitress, has prejudicial feelings about senior citizens.
Either eay, we shall gladly drive the 30 miles extra to be treated like valuable patrons instead of social outcasts.

I know that this location is really new, but come on. Customer service is terrible. They don’t sit people when there are 4 – 5 tables open. Then, we you finally do get seated, it takes 20 min just to get your drinks to the table. I look around and other tables are also wondering who their server is and when are they going to decide to take their order.
It was comical when I saw the store manager start to play with the «Crazy Claw» machine. Lol.
Awful. I like Steak and Shake but they need to work on a lot of things here.

The staff here attentive and buttoned up. The Managers and servers make this a go to destination for all to enjoy
