We camped here in mid-September and it was absolutely perfect for a great easy mix of car camping without feeling overcrowded by other campers. The other campsites were very nicely spaced out, and the campsite did not feel overly manufactured. Excellent bathrooms to boot. Peter’s review was spot on though about the noise of traffic, the site is very close to the highway which is popular with loud motorcycles. It wasn’t a game killer for us however, and we would happily return(with earplugs).

The campgrounds and trail is too close to the main road so the noise from passing motorcycles are really loud. The campsites are also pretty close together.

Very well maintained campgrounds adjacent to the DeSoto Falls…nice and woodsy spots, with tent pads, picnic tables, fire rings. . the works when it comes to a car camping site! Twelve bucks for one night, and the two trails leading to the upper and lower DeSoto Falls are close by — the trails are pretty short(not even a mile each), but they make for a quick afternoon trip before gettin’ your campfire grub on. Beware of the address you’ll find on the internet(Tifton Drive), as when we GPS-ed it, it took us the wrong location — so just take 19 North from Dahlonega for about 18 miles!
