I was looking for a quiet place to work and read the positive reviews and decided to drop by. I ordered a small black coffee. I opened it to let it cool down and noticed small brown specks floating around in it. I assumed it was leftover coffee grinds and just scooped them out. The coffee was average. Not terrible Starbucks but not great. There were two other customers, both working/studying. The ambiance is fine. Wooden chairs without cushions and scuffed table-tops. No big deal. Quiet Sinatra playing in the background. They have pastries as well and the lauded gelato was not available. I stayed for two hours. The place closes at 5:00 on Sundays. At about 4:30, when the other patrons left, the two workers began talking loudly. No big deal. But then one started tossing a water bottle in the air and letting it hit the counter. Random. They’re two teenage boys, so I figured they would get it out of their system. But this continued for a few minutes until I couldn’t take it anymore and asked him to stop and explained that I would be leaving soon(so they could continue with their fun.) He stopped and promptly sat down. Overall, the place is average, quiet, better than Starbucks, but I will not be returning due to the rambunctious workers. It’s a small business and this is understandable. It’s just a part-time job. But I’d rather continue my search for a chill coffee shop with good coffee and mature employees.

I reviewed this business before back in 2014. I admit to frequenting Starbucks because I get credit for frequent visits. They even have a nice app that keeps you from needing to yank out your credit card or cash every time. But… The atmosphere in Plum Coffee is just the way coffee shops used to be back in the 80’s. The music is retro and mellow and it is quiet. Almost library level. The owner is pleasant to chat with and remembers your usual order. While Starbucks has its pluses, they are getting so noisy with clatter, chatter and loud music that it has driven me back to what I find at Plumb Coffee. Serene time for an excellent variation of Java and a place to reflect and study. Thank you Shawn for hanging in there and making your coffe shop a great place to be.

Love the atmosphere and the fact that they have wifi. Barista was friendly and made good coffee suggestion. I enjoyed my snickerdoodle latte very much. I didn’t realize I like cinammon in my latte. Super chill place.

By far my favorite coffee place! I came in here around lunchtime for Bible study and I enjoyed it! The guys at the counter were very polite and accommodating! Asked for a Flat White and it was excellent! The ambience is great for a quiet study session and the music is soothing and not so loud that it is distracting. If you are tired of Starbucks, definitely try this place! If you’re consistent, they might even greet you and ask if you want the usual, now that’s customer service!

As a college student who jumps at the chance to feed my caffeine addiction, this place is still one of the best around. I come here and get my extremely caffeinated coffee and a panini and grab a table and study for as long as one person can handle. I’ve been coming here for years and I’ve never been disappointed. The staff is always nice and make sure you feel welcome. The only thing I don’t like is how hot it gets in there. The windows don’t have any blinds so at a certain time all the tables are in the suns way. No matter where you sit your doomed to be in the sun

I’ve been here twice and it does not disappoint. There is not much traffic coming in and out of the shop, so it was a great work environment for me. Drinks are good as well as the tandoori chicken panini. I’m excited to try more of their croissant and panini selections.

This place is really good! We were in the area and looking for a coffee place that wasn’t Starbucks and found this. I got the candybar and snickerdoodle in a frapp, and a jalapeño and cheese scone(apparently made in house) and let me just tell you. It was all amazing. I wish I lived closer so I could stop by every single day. ALSO, the two boys working in there were very nice and extremely patient with us. It took us a few minutes to decide what to order, as it was our first time, and they politely answered all of our questions and gave really good suggestions.

I asked for a large iced green tea latte but got a blended green tea drink instead… Tasted ok. Workers are very nice!

Don’t come here for the espresso, it’s watery and flavorless. I ordered an Americano(the employee tried to steer me to get something more popular but I always get an Americano because I don’t like sugary drinks) although I did add some caramel to it but the flavor tasted very artificial and almost like it was sugar free. It had a gross after taste. The 3 stars is for the service because it wasn’t exemplary but it wasn’t bad so gotta give them credit for that, but if I was rating them by the taste and quality of their coffee I would give them a –1. Sorry don’t mean to be harsh, it just wasn’t good. I took two sips and threw it in the garbage at school. Might give them another try in the future.

So I’m a huge coffee fan as well as a seasoned barista as well and had such high hopes for this place considering the reviews on here. However i was so very disappointed. The décor was a bit strange and very mix matched like they couldn’t decide what they wanted the theme of the place to be. On top of that they also sold jewelry and scarves and such which was also very strange to me. Moving on to the coffee which is the biggest let down. I ordered a white mocha which had wayyyyy too much sugar. It tasted like something from star bucks(which I was hopping they might be a bit different and more traditional) the milk was very under textured and too hot. I wasn’t able to even take a decent swig for about 10 minutes waiting for the coffee to cool off. I also ordered a cappuccino as well so that I could really get the full flavor of their espresso. The espresso was over extracted and watery. And to make it even worse, the milk had been scorched. Poor guy obviously had no idea how to make a cappuccino. And on top of all of this, when I was ordering they asked me what size cappuccino I wanted… For all of you who don’t know, there is only one size for a cortado, cappuccino, macchiato, and latte(traditionally at least) The food seemed good. I had a cake ball which was decent but looking at the pastry display, it was quite sad how little they really had to choose from. The only real good thing I could find there was the service. They were very friendly and didn’t mind striking up a convo with me. If there was the option to give 0 stars I would if it were not for the kind workers. Over all I would not recommend this place to any true coffee fans. As far as the coffee goes, you could definitely find a better place in the area.

Love this place; it’s probably one of the best, if not my top pick for Cypress/NW Houston coffee shops. I’m all about supporting the local guy and the service and quality here is consistently tops. Not sure what beans they use but the coffee is always rich and flavorful. One of the high points here is the staff; they are friendly and willing to help accommodate drink orders for overly-picky people such as myself. They offer sugar free options, non-dairy milks and carry a wide assortment of flavor add-ins that make their flavored lattes so damn delicious. They also make a wicked London Fog – one of the best ones that I’ve ever had. I’ve gone out of my way several times to get a coffee here and it has never once disappointed me. Well worth the drive, and I highly recommend them if you’re in the neighborhood or live in Cypress/NW Houston.

Such a great little establishment tucked away in Cypress! If I could rate this place on service alone, i’d give them 5+ stars. The baristas are genuinely kind and go above and beyond to ensure your drink is well worth it. They even offered the WiFi password without me asking. The specialty(read: sweet) drinks are more pricey than their pure coffee counterparts, but I had to keep myself from trying everything on their menu: try the white mocha with whole milk and no whip. Will definitely come back!

As a place to work or hang out — five stars Quality of coffee drinks — three stars The first consideration is more important than the second — so put this in your book as a good place. If Plum Coffee were in Austin, it would be filled to the max and you would not be able to park in the lot. It has lots of great work tables, enough sockets to keep you charged, a nice room feel and good light. The crowd by Cy-Fair standards is cool. (No multiply pierced linguistics graduate students, but lots of nerdy types, international types, and alt-style young people) There is plenty of room to stretch out. The internet connection is excellent. The coffee? Not so great. Their angle is to do lots of flavored different mocha drinks figuring chocolate and sweet stuff sells. I will do just about anything for anything flavored chocolate orange — so of course I went for their chocolate orange mocha. It was cloying, and tasted of the fake orange of hard candy. But if you need to get work done and you want a cool place to do it that will not impede your productivity one bit, this is a fine choice. If I lived in Cy-Fair, I would be here a lot.

I’ve been wanting to try this place out for a while now and today I finally got the chance. I came with my mom and little brother. Parking was tight and filled. They have a very little parking lot that’s shared with other establishments and gets packed quickly. We went inside and there were a lot of people at the tables chit chatting. We made our way through the crowd and were greeted by the employee at the counter. Eddie was very friendly and helpful in deciding our drinks. I had a-bajillion questions and he answered them all with a smile and patience. We ended up getting a green tea blend, a strawberry banana smoothie, and a hibiscus mint with strawberry flavoring GREENTEABLEND They use matcha green tea and I love that it’s not too sweet. I was really surprised because my mom really liked it too and she’s super picky! You really taste the green tea flavoring and it’s really smooth. STRAWBERRYBANANASMOOTHIE Eddie told us the smoothies were really sweet(thank you for the honesty) and it was. My brother wanted this and even though it was sweet, it wasn’t too bad. I could taste more bananas than strawberries though. HIBISCUSMINTWITHFLAVOREDSTRAWBERRY The hibiscus mint is non-sweet and I wanted to add some flavoring. I didn’t know which one to choose; so Eddie recommended strawberry. I went with it and it turned out really good. It was a very refreshing drink. It wasn’t overly sweet, which is what I love. My overall experience was great! I give 4.5 stars. I want to give 5 stars, but they close so early(around 7pm) and I wish I could study here or hangout late with some friends, but that’s unfortunate and their parking lot is so aggravating. other than that. their service is phenomenal! I think this is my new spot for some drinks and some early studying.

I Love Plum Coffee. They are a small quaint cozy coffee shop. I love how they are like a step back in time. They have little gift to sell like stationary and really cute necklaces. As for the coffee I ordered a ginger bread latte the foam to espresso ratio was awesome. Nice a foamy and fluffy

Been on the hunt for a great study spot in Cypress and I thought I found the perfect spot, however, Plum Coffee doesn’t open late. :( I came here on a Saturday morning around 9am and interestingly enough, there was a family and a group of ladies already there having breakfast and chit chatting away. I wasn’t really feeling coffee so I opted for the Hot Earl Grey tea with 3 teaspoons of honey. I ordered a medium cup and they usually put in 4 teaspoons. I was surprised at how cheap it was! My bill was $ 2.50! Service was fantastic as well. The guys there were very nice and accommodating. They even greeted me with a good morning. The tea smelled so good and tasted fantastic. I just wish that it was leaves and not a teabag. I stayed till around noon and to my surprise, I got so much work done! The ambiance is pretty solid. It’s a 1950’s theme with 50’s music. I sat near the corner by the door to get some natural light and my morning was pretty much perfect. This is a pretty solid place to study and do work, however they don’t open late. I can see myself coming here in the morning and getting some tea or even trying their coffee, but when it comes to studying at night, I just wish this would be my place.

I really liked this place! It has plenty to offer, from pastries to drinks in numerous versions. The interior could use a bit more funk, it still does not feel like a café yet. I did not like the fact that they sell accessories for women like jewelry or stationery… It’s a coffee shop, they should stick to that. When I came in, there was not that big of a pastry selection. Only four muffins out and some cookies. My friends and I all got different drinks, and I cannot remember the names of them each but they all had a very Christmas-y flavor to them! The next day I got a chai tea latte and(not being a tea person whatsoever) I drank all of it! I will definitely visit again to try different drinks! Also, they are a little pricey for the size that you’re getting, but I guess that’s just a Cypress thing.

Oh plum coffee, you have me hooked! As you enter the shop, you will be kindly greeted by the barista. I was overwhelmed with all the different drinks they served, so I asked which drinks were popular. He recommended the candy bar and snickerdoodle. So my friend and I decided to try the two drinks he recommended. Small Candy bar frappé(5⁄5): After a few sips the drink actually tastes like a chocolate candy bar! I was impressed with this drink. I have to say I have never had anything like this! If you have a sweet-tooth and like chocolate, then order this drink. You can thank me later! Large Snickerdoodle latte(4⁄5): My friend ordered this drink because he enjoys the aroma and taste of cinnamon. You can think of this drink as the actual snickerdoodle cookie in latte form. If you can get a hold of a stirring stick, stir your drink time to time because all of the cinnamon will settle on the bottom. My friend and I were really happy with our drinks. So glad we stopped by this cute coffee shop. The specialty drinks are a bit pricey compared to drinks at Starbucks. However, the regular coffee and teas are about the same or cheaper than Starbucks! They also sell merchandise so you can support the business. Overall, I will definitely be back! Plum coffee is a great place to study, catch up with friends, and treat yourself to a sweet specialty drink. If you live in the Katy/Cypress area, then check this place out!

I am pleased that I finally tried Plum Coffee. Count me as a fan! Plum Coffee is pricier than the famous Starbucks, but I think it’s worth the coffee you are drinking. For example, a small for one of their specialty drinks costs $ 4.50. They probably have about 15 different speciality drinks. I ordered the Coco Nut Mocha, which has chocolate, almond & coconut. The drink was blended perfectly, where you can taste one flavor and another without one over-powering. It was not too sweet as well! Starbucks is too sweet in my opinion. Aside from coffee, they offer teas, gelato, and bakery. They even sell some local items. They also sell scarves and Plum Coffee tees. Décor is random. bits of everything. You do get a 1950’s vibe though. Background music is a jazz mix. I’m pretty sure I heard Margaret Whiting and Johnny Mercer — Baby Its Cold Outside twice while studying. Last time I checked, it’s 80 degrees outside. In conclusion, great casual spot to study or meet buddies. They provide WIFI, just ask for the passcode. In addition, they have drive-thru for you busy bees.
