Little School of the West

My reviews way back 2014 and now 2015 – 2016 for my daughter. She is always excited to go to school. The artwork, bible time and share time every Thursday and having an amazing teacher (Mrs. Bustamante) is just a package deal. Keep up the good work and GOD BLESS!!! More power to LSOTW.

I really like this school. My daughter loves her teacher whom she calls Ms. «Bit Bit» (Nisbit). The classroom is very clean. This school has separate classrooms for different ages. When I was looking at other preschools before LSOTW, I was surprised that many of them put all the kids of different ages in the same room. This place has very good security. There is a gate that requires a code to enter. The playground is clean and nice. There are also security cameras around the school. I wish parents were able to monitor the kids somehow through their security cameras. They will also help potty train your kids. You do have to prepare your kids lunch. I would definitely recommend sending your kids here.

By far the best school around. I couldn’t even imagine sending my
Kids to any other school. These teachers really care about your children and safety is top priority with every parent having a unique code to get in. The prices are incredibly fair. please go see to really understand what I mean. My kids have been going here for 2 years and we will really miss it.

These children are definitely being trained up in the things of the Lord! Love the teachers & the way the school is ran by Mrs. Hagen!

I am so sad… to be leaving Little School of the West! My son Gabriel started preschool there at 3 ½ thru kindergarten. He started at Kidz Corner in Cypress which was a wonderful place to start but only offers a couple of days/​hours per week. From there we went to OC Kids which was recommended to us and we had a horrible experience there. After about a month, my son cried every time I dropped him off:(So, I researched other schools and interviewed and when I went through LSOW I felt at home!:))) The teachers my son had were Outstanding: Mrs. Bustamante, Mrs. Kim, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Conroy were ALL so wonderful with him as well as the aides! I felt comfortable leaving my only son there. He has learned so much, he knows Jesus and has made good friends! I Highly recommend LSOW but go see for yourself!!!

After a difficult preschool experience last year, we are very impressed by the care and education our 4 year old has received. At first we were intimidated by the rules and structure of the school, but we have learned, that especially for our daughter, these folks know exactly how to deal with children. We adore our child’s teacher and have found that she is able to walk the line between disclipline and love with great skill. We are very fortunate to have found LSOTW and are very sad that we cannot return with our younger daughter, only because we are moving.

My son went to Little School of the West for over a year and we love it there. I ask all parents not to base their opinion of this school because of the one star and negative review given by a very bitter and unsatisfied parent. No school is perfect and there will always be complaints but Little School of the West is one of the best schools in the area. It is a hidden diamond. I ask prospective parents to go there, visit the school yourself, and talk to other parents. There is a very good vibe about this school and we are even a minority. We have been treated right. The other reviewer said that the teacher prayed for his granddaughter’s blind eye. This school is based on solid Christian values. All children are treated equal. I guess that if you don’t want something to be prayed over, then don’t enroll your child here or tell the teachers before hand and not just flare up over something. This school is very loving. In fact, I can’t find any other school here where I live now that could surpass or equal to Little School of the West. Miss Hagen, director, is also very great. Please visit this school and don’t base it only on a negative review. I can testify because I’m a parent of a boy who have thrived well in this school.

My granddaughter went to this school for about 3 months. We had two issues which the director refused to take responsibility for. The first issue happened a few weeks after my granddaughter started. My granddaughter has a disability and is blind in one eye. One of the teachers decided to tell my 3 year old granddaughter to pray for her eye so that she does not have bad dreams. The director denided that the teacher said anything about my granddaughter’s eye. In fact, the director tried to blame the issue on me and that I was the one talking to my granddaughter about her eye. The fact is that we don’t discuss that with her, she is to young to understand that she can’t see out of it. We don’t treat her any differenlty and want her to feel as normal as possible. That would include not speaking pr PRAYING for her eye. But the next day the teacher told my granddaughter not to worry about her eye and we have not prayed since. The second issue happened just before we were asked to leave the school. According to the director «We are just not the right fit». We brought a situation to the after school teachers attention. The director never returned phone calls left and is never at the school to speak with her directly. I spoke to the teacher twice because the issue never got resolved. There were two boys picking on my granddaughter. It started out with the boys laughing at her. We tried to explain that maybe they were just playing but within two weeks the issue esculated. The boys were telling my granddaughter that she poops and pees in her pants. I talked with the teacher again (no director available and two voicemails later) because I felt that the behavior was esculating to bulling my granddaughter. The director finally called my daughter a week later and I quote, «I won’t do anything about this unless your daughter tells me herself.» My daughter explained that she is 3 years old and that my daughter is telling her this happened. That was when the director told my daughter that my granddaughter just was not the right fit. The director never talked to my granddaughter. The only thing that they did do is watch her while she was plaing on the playground. It is obvious that they did not do a good job of that or I would not be writing this today. The directors solutions is to kick out the childern of parents who bring up issues. Rather than look into them to fix the problem.
I want to say that I have no issue with her teacher. She was great and my granddaugher loved her. I would not recommend this facility because they have no formal process in place to investigate issues as they arise. Rather than investigate the director choose to kick out my granddaughter out of the school because we brought out concerns we were having about the treatment of my granddaughter. While we were already starting the process of moving to another daycare, the directors actions left us in a bind by kicking out my granddaughter and we did not have the other daycare lined up yet. I felt that the directors action was clearly kicked her out in retaliation for us bringing out the conerns. I am thankful that my granddaughter is not going back to The Little School fo the West. She never really seemed happy there. She is in a new preschool where everyday she comes home very happy. That was not always the case when she was going to The Little School of the West.
