This is the 2nd time we visited this location, which confirms why we don’t come here. Our order was wrong and after telling them what was missing still did not get everything. Never did get our biscuits and cornbread, plus the waitress never came by to refill our drinks. The only thing I will ever come back here for is to pickup gifts from the shop. The shop is the only thing they have worth visiting anymore.

I’ve been to many Cracker Barrels over the years. Usually we are there for breakfast, once even for a Thanksgiving dinner. All have been very good. This location is lacking, perhaps it was all the noisy children, perhaps the nostalgia has worn off, perhaps it was my unimpressive meal, Chicken Apple salad on romaine. Menu said it was to be served on greens, to me Romaine doesn’t qualify as greens. The chicken salad was swimming in mayo. A small sliced Apple, two cheddar wedges, also a grilled blueberry muffin on the side. It was a very boring salad. The biscuits were very good as was the cornbread. Hubs had chicken and dumplings which he said was very good. Service was rushed at first. I think it has become standard for waitstaff to ask for the order while everyone is still looking at the menu. This is happening a lot lately, at various restaurants. And it’s not like I’ve been sitting there forever. We were asked for our order within two minutes of being seated. After our waitress got the clue we were not in a hurry, she settled down and came back at a normal pace. Tea and water were refilled promptly. Food came out just as I was wondering if they forgot our order. It was an okay meal, but I think we will stick to eating at The Barrel on the road.

We used to live Cracker Barrel years ago. We were excited to finally get one close to our home. I am not sure what happened the past few years but they changed and not for the better. The eggs used to be real eggs, the bacon used to be thick and cooked correctly. Today after an hour wait and 45 minutes to get our food I suddenly felt like I was at Dennys. The quality is just not there My wife is handicapped… good luck getting a wheelchair thru all the crap in their so called country store. We got a one star waitress as expressed on the apron and it reflected in the service. The manager filled more of my coffee cup then the waitress. But…why in the world would you put glass oil lamps full of fuel on every table. With all the kids and chaos it seems to be an accident just waiting to happen. This is Houston where the restaurant business is so cut throat you have to bring your A game every day to be successful. The positive… pretty good pancakes. Won’t he back… Cypress Breakfast House is the place to go…

What happened to Cracker Barrel?! We used to love coming here but now the service is horrible, food comes out cold & coffee is cold. Ordered 2 eggs and 2 biscuits, took an hour for them to bring it out and then when it finally came out it was cold. When we went to pay we told the cashier that maybe they need to address these issues and she says«oh I know, you’re not the first one today that has told me these things» well if you know then tell a manager and have them fixed. I’ll stick to fountain view café or grand Lux café, this place isn’t worth the wait.

Grabbed Lunch here while working in the area & had plenty leftovers for another meal. Corn Bread was a bit dry & the Turkey too. Otherwise everything else was OK. Service was friendly. Love the Lemonade it tastes fresh squeezed.

Typical Cracker Barrel. The pancakes are great but don’t bother getting anything else. The corn muffins here need a ton of butter and honey to taste like anything. Good service though

My family and I visit this establishment quite often. Great food, great service, and great shopping. You find the most curious things in their shop. Love it

This review is based on multiple visits over the last six months. Cracker Barrel is a large American restaurant serving all-day breakfast. They serve a variety of entrees and you can select from a long list of sides. PROS: Excellent breakfasts and some good dinners. My wife and I recommend the biscuits and cornbread, trout, chef’s salad, fried catfish, chicken tenderloins, and chicken and dumplings. CONS: Some of their dinners are meh… clearly cooked from frozen or prepped way ahead. Avoid the Cobb salad(bland, cooled, chicken cubes compressed into a bowl shape) and be careful about the chicken fried steak — it’s from frozen patties. THINGSTOKNOW: Food tends to be on the plain side — limited spices and light on the spices they do use. I usually prefer food with more flavor(spices), but enjoy Cracker Barrel for something a little different. Several low carb options, including a meat entrée(steak, trout, grilled chicken tenderloins) with green veggies(collard greens, green beans, coleslaw, salads) and several salads. Plenty of high carb temptations, including the biscuits and cornbread, breaded/fried entrees, and high carb sides(mac and cheese, corn, mashed potatoes, rice).

Ate the Friday night fish fry. Great cod fish. Plenty of steak fries and Stewart’s root beer. Good prices. Parking not good. Nice dinner on a Friday night

Much better than we expected! While passing thru we looked up a place to eat and found this CB location. The reviews were less than favorable but since we were limited in our choices we decided to give it a try. We arrived an hour before closing so we were expecting similar findings as other reviewers. But much to our surprise and delight we found the experience wonderful. Rosemary our waitress was outstanding, especially after working over 10 hours that day. The biscuits were hot & fresh and very tasty. My husband had a western omelette and I had the hamburger steak. Both were very delicious! When we left, they were still receiving customers with a courteous and professional attitude. When I commented to the cashier on the previous reviews she informed us that the restaurant opened only a year ago and at first they did have many problems. But I can assure you after our visit tonight that they have ironed out their glitches! You should all give it another try!

Fast service. Waitress checked on us multiple times which was a nice touch! I was here for breakfast so it was very busy.

Great place to try some good ol fashion southern style food. As you can see from the menus, they have a lot to offer. Breakfast is good, but only thing to complain is portion size and their pancakes are bit oily. Been to at least 3 different locations and each one the food was great and workers always had a smile. If you eat here on Sunday, try the special of day(boneless fried chicken).

This is the 4th time we’ve been to this location and every time we leave with the same feeling, awesome breakfast food but terrible service. I guess I’ll never understand how difficult it is to get drink orders taken and served in a timely manner.

Not really sure why anyone really comes here? Came a few weeks ago and left hungry because the food was meh. I do like the cute little store at the front of the restaurant and the rocking chairs. But that’s about as far as it goes. Food: ordered chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and cheese grits. The chicken fried steak as just alright. Nothing special. Same with the mashed potatoes. The grits however tasted TERRIBLE. Not sure who taught these people how to make grits, but I’ve never had grits that tasted like sand before. I was waited on by what could possibly be the rudest server i’ve ever met in my entire life. As someone who spends a good amount of time dining in restaurants I’m actually pretty confident this guy was the worst. Was greeted with«what do you want?» when asked my food order. Great start. After asking for multiple refills he finally gets around to it after I asked one more time. My response was«yeah man no problem.» Now, I don’t expect you to address me as your majesty or whatever, but we’re not friends. I pay you to do a service and not be disrespected. Will never come here again, because frankly they don’t take training waitstaff that seriously it seems.

I went there during the grand opening week I ordered a chicken dumpling it was so yummy I was very happy with the food and the staff. About 3 months later I went back to order the same thing chicken with dumpling and the food I got was no where even near the good I got during that grand opening week. I was upset the food was soggy and tasteless… I am not sure I will still go back but I think I might give it one more chance. Hopefully it was just that day they have a temp cook or something.

So I was a little nervous when I first went because I am not the biggest fan of traditional southern comfort food, but it was actually really delicious. Everyone is so friendly… southern hospitality at its finest, haha. It literally is just down home country cooking, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is so homey! While you’re waiting at your table you can play this fun game, I believe it’s called Peg Solitaire, to kill time until your food arrives. Delicious food, a fun gift shop, and classic decoration, including a fire place — how cute, lol. Awesome for family dinners!

We like this location as it doesn’t get crazy crowded. Service is ok… it depends on waitress or waiter.

Man! The breakfast is amazing. I like looking around in the shop. I never frequented CB, but had always been told that the breakfast is great. Hands down, I will go over other breakfast competitors! Our service was great and my simple breakfast was done to near perfection. The only thing I thought could use much improvement was the grits, as I felt they were really runny and lacking in texture and flavor.

I’m only here for the pancakes!!! They so good. The eggs and sausage are just okay but I can do without it. I’m not crazy about the dinner food. I find it bland and blah. However, I did taste the BLT sandwich and potato soups and it is quite tasty. I’ve never had a problem with customer service here. So, I recommend this place for a quick(weekdays) cheap bite to eat.

Service was decent. I got the country boy breakfast with the pork chops and they were so dry. I didn’t appreciate how the manager went out of their way to speak to the tables around us and make sure they were ok but never once glanced at us. Though, the hash brown casserole is absolutely delicious. I feel like my experience could have been better at a different location.

This might be the first time I ever visited a country store/breakfast diner and had a great experience! The service was great and our waitress Devon was very friendly and courteous. This was my first time here and she explained for me the foods in the menu. It was packed and the service was fast. Even the manager asked if everything was good for us. Excellent service and I don’t understand the few bad reviews regarding service, but this location is fairly new and I had a great experience! Definitely beats Denny’s in service and food, and I would bring my business back here again#

I’ve eaten at several Cracker Barrel locations… And I liked this one when it first opened, but now the food quality is an issue. There is little to no flavor. I tried the pecan crusted catfish… I don’t recommend it. My daughter had a burger that lacked flavor and was over cooked. My husband had the rib eye… Again no flavor. I’m not sure we’ll be coming back, unless some major changes happen.

I would not recommend this location to anyone, or at least the waitress we had was horrible. Asked the waitree what the vegetable of the day was and she said«I don’t really know, then asked if the Ranch was home made and again she said she didn’t know. Then waited 20 plus minutes for our food to arrive and the portions were smaller than ever experienced at a Cracker Barrel. Didn’t get our entire order; the cornbread took over 25 minutes and the extra order of gravy came after almost done with the meal. Not a great experience at all!

We waited 30 minutes before somebody came to get our drink order. After that she was really attentive and quick. It took no time getting out BUT nearly everything qas cold or but into the microwave to be heated up. Out all all the items we ordered only 2 or 3 were edible. Then there’s the light at the end of the tunnel, the GM Matt. The nicest, most OCD guy there. He took care of our bill and assured us that everything would be taken care of. All in all the food sucked the service was worse, but they do have a diamond in all that rough… and that diamond is their GM.

Cypress Cracker Barrel is a winner! NOTHING better than Cracker Barrel pecan pancakes, and the Big Country Boy breakfast! Lots of yummy breakfast food at low prices, and it really does taste homemade. Order the apple butter with your biscuits. That apple butter tastes like someone’s grandma made it. I actually slathered it all over my pecan pancakes. Don’t bother with the coffee. I’m used to flavor rich roasted coffees from coffee shops, and this coffee tasted like Folger’s. LOL! But, I forgive them, because our breakfast was so good. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive, so we were sure to tip her 20%

Not quite sure what’s going on with Cracker Barrel. We used to take our family weekly to the location in Texarkana, TX. Impeccable service, value and quality. When we moved to Shreveport, LA we went 3 times in 8 years and were disappointed every time, so we stopped going. We recently moved to the Cypress area and were excited to rekindle our love affair with C.B. The Houston market is so competitive, it generally out ranks service in most areas we travel to. Sorry C. B…my love of your food is sadly over… Our visit started with us getting to the dining room fairly quickly… off to a nice start… then we stood with the hostess at the fireplace for an eternity waiting for the table to be cleared and ready. Felt a little like a zoo animal while the dining patrons looked at us curiously. Once seated we placed our drink and food order. After about 10 minutes we finally asked if we could have our drinks. Then we had to flag down our server and ask for straws. She kept walking away before we could ask for anything. Then we had to ask for bread… it came out with only cornbread(was told biscuits would be brought out when they were ready, they never did)…no plates, no butter. So we asked for butter and was brought one small container for the entire table to share. Off the server went! Then another trip to get bread plates. Never asked if we wanted additional cornbread and the biscuits were a complete«no show». Food came out(well some of the food came out) and the server had to make 4 additional trips to get each individual item(4 total) that was missing from our meal! The chicken fried chicken(my favorite) came out with literally a tablespoon of gravy smeared on the top. The mashed potatoes were crunchy, and looked as if they had been sitting for quite some time. Got one refill the entire meal. Now the server was quick to bring the check and to-go boxes before we had even gotten our complete meal(good thing we didn’t want dessert!) But otherwise, it was the most perplexing dining experience I’ve had in quite some time. The highlight of the meal was the fried apples. They were the only item we received(after 3 trips) that came out hot and delicious. Every other aspect of the meal was disappointing. I bet the server made 15 trips to the table… always leaving something behind in the kitchen. Couldn’t flag down a manager either. Tried in vain. He was oblivious to the table of folks with raised hands telling«Excuse me? Sir? Hello?» while he was two tables away. I hate to break up with you Cracker Barrel… but I thinks it’s time we part for good. There’s too much competition in this area to settle for sub-standard service and food.

I have always loved Cracker Barrel but today I am reminded of how much! Was told an hour wait was seated just under 30 minutes. Not bad for a Saturday! Food was great and came out in 5 minutes. Very busy store but Management rocked it!

If you place a ToGo order at the store make sure to pay for it soon as you place it. They want till you’ve paid to bring it out. My husband and I learned that the hard and waited like 35mins before they told us we had to pay first for them to box it up and bring it out. Other then that the food was very good
