This used to be «the» thrifting spot until they made a grave mistake. Not only did they decide to stock a ton of new merchandise made for juniors/preteens that looks even cheaper than the garb at Forever 21, they dispersed this merchandise throughout the ENTIRE store so you have to sift through this garbage no matter what. Hint to the VDO: people don’t come to thrift stores looking for new stuff, they come to dig for random assortments of donated treasure. I don’t even mind that they mark up popular brands really high($ 80 for knockoff Coach bags? nah) because the pricer will always miss a gem, but you have to sift through the new merch for no less than two hours to find it. I hope one day they’ll confine that stuff to a special section of its own.

This place is packed with clothes and homegoods. One of the larger thrift stores in the area, this place is sure have something for everyone. The only issue, however, is that due to the volume they do not organize by size very well. For instance, there is an aisle for boys sizes 6 – 14. My son wears size 8. However, in order to find 8’s, you have to go through and sift through the entire 60ft row. It is, however, worth it if you have the time. A big benefit is that they organize a lot of clothes by color as well in case you are looking for a specific color. Prices are decent, check out is slow. A great place to find a good bargain.

One word… Dump…I guess when you are really broke or the most cheapest person then this is the place for you. Sorry but I won’t be coming back here again.

Holy crap! This place is grossly over priced. Not to mention no rhyme or reason for sorting through stuff. I heard others complain while I was in there too. I also heard an internal announcement on a 5 minute loop. Apparently you need to resign up for their loyalty program because some glitch with switching phone carriers. But do you really need to play it every 5 minutes?! I live in Columbus and see better stuff with lower prices. Guess I’m spoiled. But I will never come back here. One and done.

I agree with pretty much everyone else here, the VD has an unbeatable selection of color and variety for low prices($ 1-$ 4). I don’t even bother with Goodwill anymore. Last time I went I spent $ 26 and got no fewer than 8 tops, including an adorable Ann Taylor silk sweater, plus a pair of skinny jeans. Brands i frequently find there include JCrew, Aeropostale(if you’re into that), LImited, and Express. Good stuff for work. Then there’s the brand-less sweaters from the 70’s or 80’s, with fun boxy styles or dolman sleeves which are perfectly fashionable now, or classics like silk blouses and Birkenstock sandals. It does smell pretty bad, I just make sure to bring tissues(allergies) and keep everything tied up in the bag until it’s washed. There’s nothing they could do other than wash everything, and Goodwill would smell the same way if they had that much stuff.

Nice thrift store. Prices are great! Shorts for kids were between 3 and 6 dollars. The store is huge. My only complaint is that the clothes were not organized very well. I know it’s a thrift store but it was worse than others I have been to. They had the kids clothes for size 7 – 20 all mixed up on multiple racks. It took my a while to find stuff that would fit my kid but for the price it was worth the extra work.

Love this store! Got two sundresses, 2 pairs of capris, & a skirt for $ 10. Love the half price days too :) I honestly don’t know what ‘smell’ people are talking about, I didn’t notice it.

YES. If you have time to dig and aren’t put off by the oft-unpleasant olfactory sensation of THRIFT, come here. Sometimes it’s a bust, but I usually leave with something, if only a basic silk tank for $ 0.60. I’ve found everything from ‘60s Dior skirts to Eileen Fisher to Club Monaco to Theory. BEWILLING. And now they have try-on rooms, so you don’t have to shimmy in and out of potential purchases in full view of the store! 20% for senior citizens & students, too. Divine.

i used to love the VDO when i was younger. but now, i avoid it. i hate that they sell new items, usually at an inflated price. if i want new items, i’ll go elsewhere. their dress selection always sucks. i love buying dresses from thrift stores, and have only scored one really good one at this store. someone mentioned the smell, and i have to agree with them. this store’s smell is the EXACT smell that i hate about thrift stores.

Been shopping here for nine years now. I hate shopping at the mall and really dislike big box clothing stores. This particular VDO is pretty cool. You won’t always find what you’re looking for, but it’s what you aren’t looking for that is really the draw. As turn-over of style rapidly increases, the options of clothes here just gets better and better. No changing rooms to try on clothes, which is what I don’t like about VDO’s in general, so no 5 stars from this guy.

I have LOVED to shop at this thrift store for many years. They have a lot of quality clothes, and because this store is so busy, the stock is constantly rotating. Last time, I got some jean overalls to wear to my friend’s 90’s party, and I found a beautiful skirt. The time before that, I got some great jeans and a bunch of professional shirts and pants for my job, nearly enough to get through a week for less than $ 30. The only thing I don’t enjoy is trying on the clothes over the clothes I am wearing, in front of my fellow customers, as the store does not have fitting rooms. Then again, who has ever encountered a CLEAN thrift store fitting room? Perhaps we are better off without them.

It doesn’t get any better than this. Village Discount makes my heart beat faster, and brightens my every visit to the Akron-Canton metropolitan area. Last time I got two like-new Anthropologie blouses, and an adorable pair of Baby Gap cowboy boots, among other things. Extra points for the christian rock.

Eww, eww, and eww. Go to Goodwill if you’re looking for discounted things. Village Discount smells TERRIBLE and is always PACKED. The smell alone makes me want to leave. I’ve never found anything worth purchasing here, and I love to thrift!

This place remains the same over the past 20 years which is great. Been going since i was a baby and stopped by when i was in town over the holidays. I found a ton of amazing vintage stuff for $ 20. Wish there were places like this in California!

The Village has provided me with some pretty cool gems over the years. Not to mention all of the oxfords I wore with my high school uniform. Even though I never admitted it to my 7th grade friends, thrifting is fun. You endure light rock music while looking for the perfect worn pair of levis or goofy t-shirt. And if the stuff isn’t cheap enough, they lower a different portion of merch every day. It’s fantastic. Just make sure you have a staple remover at home.
