very unprofessional, difficult to work with
My fiancée and I grew up with the Beach Boyz, they DJ’d all of our school events, formals, etc. We were very excited to work with them. We scheduled with them as our first choice, even booking them over a year in advance!
A few weeks after we signed, we were informed our church made a mistake with our date and were forced to reschedule everything! Our new wedding date was changed to May, now the «in-​season» according to them (the original date was in April), and to change the contract they wanted an additional $ 400 and for 1 hour LESS of service. They also demanded we make the full payment upfront to make the change in their books (instead of collecting the balance 60 days before event). The new price was now no longer in our budget so we kindly asked to cancel the contract (10.5 months in advance of our event). They kept our $ 300 deposit and were not willing to work with us at all. Also looking back at our original contract hey had listed 4 hours of DJ service, 2 hours extra for a total of 5 hours, they tried to rip us off from the very beginning!
We were treated extremely unprofessionally; Rich was very condescending in conversation and hung up on me when attempting to discuss this issue over the phone. The contract did not mention any penalties for changing the date so we were taken by surprise when they tried to charge us an additional $ 400 for the same service that was just 45 days later. After the way I was treated by this company, I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy.
