Finally a BRAND spanking NEW Korean restaurant in Cupertino Village, which is very modern and clean inside. Run by the same group who brought us Jang Su Jang they have opened up Tofu Plus which is a more casual version of Jang Su Jang. Service and restaurant seating is a little more open and relaxed. They offer up some great quality side dishes like Jang Su Jang, the food is pretty much the same interestingly enough. Not enough to wow me to give them 5 stars but definitely on par with other good run of the mill Korean restaurants. I maybe back if in the Cupertino area and craving some Korean, no need to drive to El Camino area when you have this place here. This plaza has been much improved with the new parking garage and a few other brand new restaurants and business spaces opening up. Great addition to the plethora of restaurants already here. I’m sure this place will do great with the New Apple Campus being built nearby!

This place is a legit Korean restaurant. Ban chan=deliciousness. Tasty meat and good portion size(bulgogi). Jap chae was super yum. Bibimbap was perfect. Very friendly waitress. A little disappointed no dessert drink. Inside was nicely decorated and open.

Came here for a team lunch. We weren’t sure if it was going to be crowded so we called in an hour before and made reservations just in case. We arrived at 11:30 and there were only a few parties inside, but then again, most places aren’t packed at that time yet, so not a big deal. However, I can imagine that this place will soon be packed once the nearby Apple Spaceship Campus is up and running. I ordered the Short Rib lunch box. It’s like a bento box except with side dishes of salad, fried egg, two types of fried fish, and a lotus root. Other than the salad, I’ve never had these types of side dishes before, so it was definitely a fun experience getting to try them. There was also plenty of banchan to share amongst the table, so I was pretty full. I drink a lot of water/tea in general so I appreciated that my cup was always filled with hot tea without me having to flag someone down. Also, a thumbs up for the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. I’d say its just a little pricier than your average hole-in-the-wall Korean restaurant, but given the location, it’s not unreasonable. I would definitely recommend Tofu Plus if you’re in the area!

Apparently this place is quite new and the same owner of another popular Korean restaurant(nearby?) that my family is familiar with, but whose name I’m not even going to try to pronounce. My sister in law recognized one of the servers and they had a friendly chat about this. Thank goodness we showed up relatively early… just past 6pm… the place was less than half filled. However, not 15 – 20 minutes later the place was absolutely packed with a small line forming! This is actually a pretty nice place… very clean, cosy, and open… with table or booth seating. A few minutes after had we sat down in a booth, the nice lady server came over to greet us and asked if we were ready to order… I knew I was! I don’t eat a lot of beef or pork and wasn’t exactly hungry for too much meat anyway, so since I usually gauge a Korean restaurant by the quality of their seafood pancakes/pizza, I went ahead and ordered the Haemul Pajeon… the rest of the family ordered the Pork Bibimbop, Bossam Jungsik, Galbitang, and Haemul Kalguksoo… everybody was very satisfied with their dishes… and I thoroughly enjoyed my seafood pancake. It was nice and thick full of ingredients perfectly, cooked with a very light crisp to it… the dipping sauce was rather light, but I thought it was necessary to give the pancake its yumminess. I was really impressed by the variety of small dish«salad» appetizers which came with the meals… which are typical of Korean meals… and you can always ask for more of your favorite ones. Anyway, there was a good variety and everything tasted very good and fresh. The other thing I was really impressed with is that the service was very good and very fast… our food was out within minutes of our order being taken… wow! I think we all know that Korean food is usually pretty pricey… andthis place is no exception… perhaps a little more than other places I’d been to. However, this doesn’t seem to stop such a good crowd from dining here, so it must be worth it. Will definitely be back.

Love this place! bf and I have come here a few times now, and we’re still loving their variety of ban chans and the awesome service. I’ve tried their mandoo(lol it keeps autocorrecting to manhood) dumpling soup($ 14ish) and recently their broiled mackerel($ 16). I LOVED the dumplings. If I could fit more in my stomach, man, I really would. The ingredients taste extremely fresh and the outer layer is just strong enough to hold it together with a good bite of texture, but super thin so it doesn’t take over the fillings. The soup also came piping hot, and. huge thumbs up. I’d definitely get it again if we have more people to share with! Broiled mackerel was awesome too. Great portion(definitely shareable) and good flavor. Ask for a few more pieces of lemon to top it off! The banchans– what we keep coming back for– are soo on point. You know how sometimes in Korean restaurants you might like a few of the many small dishes? This place nails them ALL down. I love everything including the apples and the potatoes. Lastly, the service is 100% always on point. They’re friendly and super efficient. Korean food is usually pretty pricey so be prepared to spend at least $ 20 even for lunch. I always pack my food to go though, their portions are big. So if you come with a bigger group you can share some of the dishes. Would be back SOON! :)

I’ve only been hearing good things about this particular new Korean Tofu restaurant from both friends n my sister also, so I finally had the chance last night to go check out this«amazing» place. I kept my expectations low n went in with an empty stomach. Tofu Plus is located on North Wolfe Road in Cupertino in the Asian plaza across from the new Apple(«the big O») building.(should b done being built in another year. :)) the restaurant is next to the Optometrist n Verde Tea Express. parking is no bueno during the weekends. there’s a new parking structure in the back, but don’t count on it being empty either.(I saw a guy standing in a spot waiting for his friend to go park there. seriously???) the interior is both modern n clean. I also love how this space is really bright compared to other Korean restaurants. they have booths in the dining area as well as small tables which can b pushed together to accommodate large parties. the service was fast n efficient. efficient meaning we didn’t even ask for our bill n it was handed to us as soon as it looked like we were done eating. that’s understandable cuz there was a bunch of ppl waiting at the front door n also outside. Banchan: it was amazing to c the lady putting down one shiny dish after another til our table was covered in the 12BANCHANDISHES. it’s unheard of.(well, maybe not in LA. K-Town.) they were all tasty items too; i.e. apple salad, seaweed salad, japchae. Seafood Soon Tofu Soup: it was a cold day so I had to get a tofu soup. it was DE-LISH. it came boiling n bubbling with rice n an egg. there was plenty of small clam meat n 3 shrimps. ordered mild. wasn’t spicy at all so will probably order medium next time. LA Galbi: wasn’t as tender as I liked. a bit overcooked. the size is big pieces though which is good. has sesame on top. if they were tender then this would b a 5 star review for sure! Tofu Plus really exceeded my expectations n more! I’ll definitely b back to try their Seafood Pancake.(one of my favorites.) hopefully the food n service continues to b as good after being opened for a year or two. that’s the real test.

Delish tofu soup/Korean restaurant right inside the ranch 99 plaza. It recall many businesses coming and going from that little corner across Joy Luck Palace, but Tofu Plus is definitely here to stay. We visited on Mother’s Day and boy, it was packed! These Asian peeps catch onto new Asian restaurants quickly. Mothers Day or not, I overheard someone say that there’s always a wait here. The food is delicious. This is owned by the same owner of Jang Su Jang, so the dishes, décor, dinnerware, and even the bluetooth headsets are the same lol. Their banchan is top notch, as was the tofu soup(shoot it better be, given their name) however service was a bit spotty. I know it was busy but boyfriends mom got METAL inside her mouth on Mother’s Day and all the manager did was offer a coupon for one free tofu soup. For her NEXT visit. Minus one star for that. Any other place would have comped her dish! It was a hard, long piece of metal crumpled up in her mouth. She could have cut herself on it! All in all, solid food, but still. Metal in mouth. I think we’ll be back, but mom will probably pass on our next visit.

This is the first time I have been to a Korean restaurant and say«Well, definitely not coming back!!» In a nutshell — this is a fast food Korean restaurant that charges the high end restaurant price. — décor and comfort — 5 star — service — 4 star — food — 3 star — price and value — 1 star This is a new restaurant that opened not too long ago at the Cupertino Village. I wanted a Bibimpa, and really no restaurant should be able to screw this up, so decided to try this new place. The hot pot bibimpa was $ 13, see picture below, so not let the picture deceive you, it looks amazing. However if you zoom in, there is literally less than 2 bite of beef, and once you mix all the veggie in, you virtually could not see the beef. Oh and, it’s so small! How expensive is rice??? Since our bibimpa was missing the beef, so we ordered Kalbi to max it in. For $ 21 for such small quantity, we definitely have had better! Seafood pancake, very generic at Korean restaurant, at $ 17 a pop, we thought this must be a gem — argh! It’s all pluff with flour! ToBang in Santa Clara, their seafood pancake is complimentary and taste so much better! We also ordered the seafood noodle soup. The crab was like rubber, which means they cooked it too long, the soup broth was drenched with MSG, it was good at that moment, but you know what comes afterwards… The kitchen is like an operation, my imagination everything is already cooked, like McDonald, it’s ready to go. Food came out super quick. Not expecting this when only 4 orders cost $ 100 with tips! There are so many Korean restaurants around South Bay, pick somewhere else. If this is the sister of Jang Su Jang, they could really done better.

Everything we ordered was on point, service was swarming and attentive, and the banchan was GLORIOUS. Highly recommended: the seafood pancake, the kimchi fried rice, the tofu soup, the bulgogi(no, seriously, best restaurant bulgogi ever), and the LA Galbi/short ribs. …So basically everything our group had.(And I vouch for everything Dean C. says about this place!) Best Korean restaurant food and experience we’ve had in a long while. Can’t wait to be back!

New spot in Cupertino square so I went to check it out wit my mama. Arrived and got seated right away on a Thursday night(cinco de mayo) around 7 pm. Someone quickly took our order and the side dishes arrived promptly. Omg. SOOOOMANYSIDES My mom ordered the tofu soup and I ordered the bibimbap. Everything was amazing! They were busy but the host saw me trying to get a servers attention and immediately came over. I asked for a refill on some of the sides and he came back with double the amount. I’m in sides heaven! Definitely worth checking out and I’ll definitely be back for more. Yummmm!

Came here for a late lunch with a coworker and were seated right away. Even though I think we missed the lunch rush and it was fairly empty, I heard this place gets packed for dinners. A good selection is offered and an even better selection of banchans! Yummm, I hate to say it, but I think their banchans were the best part of the meal haha. I ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice and my coworker got the Beef Bibimbap. We shared a little bit to get an idea of what the other dish tasted like. Both were a little on the bland side, but nothing a little hot sauce can’t fix! After eating the Bibimbap, the Kimchi Fried Rice has so much more flavor haha. Overall, this place was good. I’d come back… mostly for the banchans lol

Tofu Plus is one of my new fave Korean soup spots in Cupe. I’ve been to the usual Korean tofu soup spots from SGD to Kong Tofu, and I think that even though the prices here seem more pricey, the cleanliness/bright ambiance and modern array of banchan are way more attractive to me. Sometimes, I just want good quality service at an Asian joint! Had dinner here and enjoyed a oyster tofu soup for dinner. I LOVED it and would totally recommend it. The medium spicy flavor was mild to me, so just a head’s up for you picante-levelers. The banchan lineup was impressive. I like to stick with what I enjoy, and shamelessly asked for more seaweed, fish cake, and glass noodles. SCORE! You can ask for extra banchan, but the entrees come out quick so you might not have time to ask for more. Also, they started us out with complimentary hot tea(YASCUPERTINOYAS), so you probably have to ask for ice water if you’re not about that tea life. Looking around, I saw that there were lots of families here both big and small sizes, and some group of friends like us. Service was smiley and quick, and that made my experience very positive and easy-flowing. I think it’s commendable when Asian restaurants cook food that maintains the«traditional» flavor(no Americanization of flavors of dishes), but«ups the ante» on service and quality. That’s how Tofu Plus does it. I can’t wait to bring my family here or come back with friends. There are big tables and lots of comfy sofa-like seating with reflective metal/marbled white color schemes going on. It’s definitely a more modern interior for any restaurant in Cupertino Square, let alone on Korean tofu soup shop standards. Pro Tip: It’s located on the of Quickly/that eyeglasses store

Vegetarian pancake $ 15 — Tender and crispy. If it were pan fried slightly longer, it would have been perfect. The color was a light yellow, a little tanner would be been just right. Lots of green onions(some pieces too long) in this generous pancake. The dipping sauce looked like it would not be enough but it was just the right amount per person. Would order this again. Vegetable tofu soup $ 12 — A little too salty and too much broccoli. Usually Korean restaurants add zucchini, mushrooms and carrots. I liked the idea of the broccoli, the pieces were a little too large and just too much compared to the ratio of the tofu soup. Rice was nice and cooked. Soft and soaked up the soup well. Banchan — Lots of options! The green beans were my favorite because they were a little sweet and salty. We saw another table have the sweet soybeans too. Would like to try that next time. Service is very attentive, prices are good especially for the location. Wait on a Monday was about 15 minutes, restaurant was packed with a waiting list of 5 people. Would definitely return.

Let me start this review by saying that I believe that Tofu Plus is the nicest, cleanest, and most modern restaurant in Cupertino Village at this time. I may be overlooking one, but this place is super nice and super clean! With that said, the food choices they offer is very similar to all other Korean Tofu places. Yes, they give you many more Banchan dishes than the other places which is really cool, but the food tastes similar. I don’t know if it’s a psychological thing or not, but their food seems cleaner and crisper, and is definitely served very well on nice plates and bowls. Service was incredible. We immediately had ice water and hot tea on our table within a couple of minutes, the waitress came to take our order, and our Banchan quickly came out after that. Shortly after we filled up on Banchan the dishes came. We tried a tofu soup and a Bi Bim Bop, both which were very good. I gave it a 5 star rating as I don’t see why I’d go to another Korean restaurant when the food here tasted pretty much the same as those, but the interior is so nice, the service is so good, and the place is so clean. It’s a win/win/win. I really want to go back to try their box lunch. That looks great. Unfortunately you can’t get it at dinner time.

Friendly service, lots of banchan, food was good. I think I’m sold! Drove all the way here from Palo Alto because I just want to see how strong their banchan game is. Pretty strong I’d say. We didn’t order that much when we came, we only had the tofu soup, I got their ramen seafood extra extra spicy and surprisingly it comes in a bigger pot! Minus one point because when my pot came it wasn’t boiling so Instagram and snapchat picture ain’t gonna be too strong lol Décor was modern, comfortable booths, managers that were making rounds every 5 minutes even though there was only 3 tables occupied, we kept seeing him lol Will come back and try their other dishes.

In strip mall full of older Asian businesses, Tofu Plus has an unexpectedly modern vibe. Upon entering the place, you will see a large, organized, and clean interior. Tables are smooth, sturdy, and spacious. Service is fast and respectful. The menu is typical of what you would expect at a Korean place. No matter what you order, you’ll get 12 complimentary banchan full of fresh vegetable, noodle, and kimchi dishes. As usual, I ordered soft tofu soup($ 12) and it was solid and not too salty. It came with a free raw egg and a bowl of rice. I ordered it medium spicy, but it felt mild to me, so ask for it spicy if you want it to have a kick!

Sooooooo many side dishes. I think they give a set of 12 per 4 people. If you are a side dish person for Korean cuisine, this is the place to be. The service is very nice, and they are very fast on refilling the side dishes also. New tofu place inside Cupertino Village(about right in the middle). The menu is very similar to that of Jang Su Jang(teriaky chicken instead of the usual spicy korean chicken). They also have the wang mandoo, and fried mandoo the size pretty much similar to wang mandoo. I got the bento box, which also had California rolls. I got the spicy pork, it came with the usual salad, eggs, and fried fish(just like Jang Su Jang bento). My coworkers had tofu soup, which they said it was tasty. However, one of my coworker did say she had to drink water all afternoon, so it must have been pretty salty. I will try the tofu soup next time. But definitely my new fav Korean lunch place!!!

Finally! Another Korean tofu place in Cupertino. Tofu Plus has a lot more variety than Kong Tofu &BBQ(3 min. away), in my opinion, but the prices are a little higher. It actually reminds me more of Jang Su Jang on El Camino. I’ve tried both the tofu and the seafood noodle soup. Tofu goes for $ 12 here… so I’d say if you’re craving just tofu, you might as well go to Kong’s(it’s cheaper). The tofu here is more mild in flavor, and the spice levels are more tame as well. Wasn’t all that impressed. The seafood noodle soup, while not as good as Jang Su Jang’s, is still delicious! I found the soup to be a bit thick, and the noodles were a little hard, but there was still a lot of flavor. You don’t get that much seafood, though, but it’s not any less than what I’ve seen at other places. And on the plus side, it is a little cheaper than the one from Jang Su Jang. The side dishes here are amazing! They give you SO many, and are very generous with refills! Probably the best selection I’ve seen! Customer service here is fantastic and the food comes out super fast. Will definitely be coming here more often.

Located in Cupertino Village, Tofu Plus is a great addition to the food scene in Cupertino, as there are not many Korean options around. I had seen the signs for this restaurant occasionally toward the end of 2015, whenever I came to Cupertino Village for milk tea, but I didn’t know they had opened until I saw quite a few Unilocal reviews, so I made it my mission to try it out. I swung by here earlier today around 3pm or so with a friend. Definitely an off hour and there were only 3 or 4 other parties currently eating. The restaurant is quite spacious and has a very nice earthy theme to it. As soon as we entered, we were greeted, and a waitress came by to seat us. This restaurant is apparently owned by the same people, who own Jang Su Jang, so I was quite ecstatic about trying their food. It really had been quite some time since I’ve had Korean Soft Tofu soup, so I looked at the options and went with the Kimchi and Beef soft tofu soup at medium spicy. My friend went for the Beef soft tofu soup at medium spicy. Almost immediately after ordering, we were served the side dishes. A whopping twelve side dishes were given to us, and I was quite famished, so I dug in immediately. Overall, I thought all the side dishes had great taste and good quality. I didn’t try to ask for more because the amount given was quite a lot for two people, but usually Korean restaurants don’t mind giving you more side dishes. In only another five minutes or so, our soft tofu soups came out, and our waitress kindly asked if we wanted egg or not, and cracked an egg into each of our soups and served us. Super sweet, and additionally she and another lady came back a total of three times throughout our meal to make sure everything was okay. It wasn’t pushy or anything, and they always said it with such a big smile on their face. The bill came out to be $ 26 and some change without tip. Overall, we were very satisfied with our meal, and the side dishes were fantastic. The service was also wonderful. I didn’t look at their menu extensively, but they do offer other things aside from soft tofu soup such as dumplings, korean pancakes, and a few korean bbq options, so there is quite a variety. I would definitely recommend this place, and the price may seem a little steep to some, but the side dishes really are great. I’m excited to return with my family to try other Korean goodies in the near future!

The décor, visual appeal, and service was good, but the food was not so good. After hearing the hype about how Tofu Plus is comparable to Jang Su Jang, I came here early to beat the crowd. Yes, I was impressed by the Korean atmosphere. But after the food did not live up to the high standards I’m used to at Jang Su Jang, I don’t think I will be back. While other people are impressed by the quantity of the side dishes, they left a very shallow impression on me because the kimchi wasn’t that good. Some places like Chungdam will serve 8 side dishes, but those are the best side dishes you’ve ever had. With 12 side dishes, you wonder, do I really need the apple slices in mayonnaise or the super salty small shrimp? I personally prefer fewer side dishes if the kimchi would leave more of a positive impact. So I ordered the Haemul Pajun, LA Galbi, Galbitang, and Bossam Jungsik. First, the Haemul Pajun is generally an indispensable appetizer, because its quality is the baseline to judge everything else. If it uses copious green onions and is crispy, it passes the test. Tofu Plus’s barely passes as I’ve had better at Tobang where it’s more oily but packs more flavor. I was disappointed with LA Galbi. It was quite tough and difficult to bite off the bone. The server recommended it too, and on the positive side, all I can say is that it was nicely seasoned. I was even more disappointed with the Galbitang which is clearly not Tofu Plus’s forte. If you want healthy beef short rib soup, go to Kunjip. At Tofu Plus, the pieces of bone and meat are hard to manage, and the soup has not simmered in the ingredients long enough. I also found a piece of dukboki in the pot, which is highly irregular. There was an entire turnip in there too, too large to invite any appetites. Lastly, I had the Bossam Jungsik. It’s a mise en place dish where you roll up boiled pork belly in pieces of daikon or nappa cabbage and you can add stringy seasoned radish strips and jalapeño into the roll like a taco. My impression was that the daikon slices were too thick, especially the pink ones. Gen BBQ has thinner daikon slices, so I know it’s possible. I’m sure you’re all tired of my comparisons by now, so I’ll get to the bottom line. If you come here, get the tofu soup for yourself, instead of trying go for family style. Tofu Plus is not Jang Su Jang. It’ll be a lot more economical and less disappointing if you go for the namesake dish(i.e. Tofu Soup) instead of ordering the items that are pictured on the menu but fall short of your past experiences at other places.
