I stumbled across this picnic area when taking a detour hiking in Stevens Creek County Park. What a hidden gem! The place is very well kept, looking as if it hasn’t been used in years. «Sycamore Group Area» is the de facto name of this picnic area, according to a lone sign next to the access control gate by the road. Sycamore is usable by reservation only, and the gate is kept locked when the area is not in use. The area is ideal for large groups and can even be used to host a wedding! Here are the amenities that Sycamore offers: Large parking lot that accommodates around 30 cars Covered picnic area with 15 picnic tables 2 charcoal grills and a food preparation table A pretty arbor, good for a small wedding Restroom facilities, locked when the area is not in use A volleyball court and horseshoe lane. Equipment not provided Drinking fountains for humans and dogs Trash and recycling bins A trail leading to other trails in Stevens Creek County Park Reservations can be made at or by calling(408) 355‑2201. The daily fee is $ 185 plus a $ 6 reservation handling fee. For small groups, there’s another picnic area, Madrone Group Area( ), nearby. But that one is nowhere near as nice as Sycamore.
