I wish i could give 0 star. First of all I had very bad experience in tooth extraction. I had too much pain when he operated. He stitched my chin wall inside my mouth with gum. When i went back after a week since i had pain. they showed face, they were so rude. I took my friend there to get some price info. the front lady became rude after seeing me and said everyone went for lunch but when i said its for my friend, then she smiled. i said i am not gonna come back. they are very rude. it may work out for people who can speak only chinease language. This is the worst dentist place i have ever been.

Don’t go there. Ben Shyy is a joke. If I could leave less than 1 star I would. I had to remove one of my lower wisdom tooth a few years ago. Ben Shyy was the one who did the distraction of the tooth. I remembered the operation start at 3:00pm. When I leave his office, it was already after 6:00pm. During the distraction of the tooth, he took X-ray at my jaw every 15mins to check how much tooth he removed, and there was something so wired in the office too. My husband told me there was a woman walking in and out looking into my mouth and blocking the view from Ben Shyy. Ben Shyy was yelling a few times that someone was blocking his view, my eyes was shined blind by those lights, so I couldn’t tell who she was. I felt so much pain after the distraction of my tooth. I had to lay in bed for a few days. I felt I almost want to pass away at that time. Lately, I had to remove the upper wisdom tooth again. But I was referred by my dentist to a oral surgeon. He said the oral surgeon can do a much better job then a general dentist. My dentist is pretty clear what he can do or not. Why Ben Shyy, because he just looking at the $$$$. He knew that he wasn’t trained for removal of the teeth, but he will do it anyhow. I was so worry before I went to my oral surgeon. I asked her, how long if she need to take to remove a tooth. She said 5mins. In fact, My oral surgeon didn’t even take 5mins to remove my bad tooth. My recovery was quick this time. After the distraction of the tooth, I went shopping right away. I only need to take 2times pain killer. I highly recommend all people who has problem with their teeth not to go there. He will do whatever to make $$$$ without considering if he knew how to do the job.

Typical crook with a DDS degree(I’m assuming overseas). This guy is about making the most money and providing the lease service. The office is dirty, and outdated. I literary felt«used» being made money off of my health. I will not even come back to fix the problem even though I know it won’t cost me anything. I’d rather pay another dentist to do it, so I don’t have to come back. Awful! Stay away!

Stay Away! This guy needs to be reported to whoever oversees dentists in this state. He is literally a crook whose goal is take advantage of local Chinese whose culture is such that they don’t question someone like a doctor or dentist. My wife went here a while back to get here teeth checked because the location was convenient, not because she needed a Chinese speaking dentist. They only spoke to her in Chinese, however, and must have thought she was one of the typical Cupertino Chinese immigrants that they could take advantage of. Anyhow, she was told she had a cavity that was so bad that the tooth had to be pulled. Since this dentist wasn’t one of the preferred dentists for our insurance plan I had my wife go somewhere else to have the work done. When she went to the other dentist they told her it was nothing and they could drill and fill without even giving her novocaine. Gotta be pulled vs no novocaine-That’s a big difference! Like night vs day, male vs female, and, of course, cheap vs expensive difference. Obviously they figured she wouldn’t question it and they could make a lot more money by pulling the tooth. I also heard from a friend who had a friend that used to work there. Apparently she was told to put extra procedures, that weren’t performed, on the docs that they’d submit to the insurance companies. This was, however, written in English and only to be done with patients who didn’t speak English. Of course this isn’t first hand info so take it as you will but given what my wife experienced it sounds about right.

I’ve had only good experiences at Shyy’s dental group for the last 7 years. I’ve only had him actually work on me once or twice but every dentist I’ve had there is very good. I had a crown replaced, that was a botched job from a different dentist group. That crown is the best one I have and I have four others. The teeth cleanings are done with care and patience– they take there time and do a thorough job. They have the best dental assistants and hygienist I’ve met. Sure the dentists at Shyy’s office recommend additional work like whitening or whatever, every dentist must do that, but all you have to do is decline the work– no big deal. I’ve had dental work done in Cupertino, Sunnyvale and Los Altos area for over 40 years and have been to a dozen-plus dental groups– this one I’m sticking with for my whole family.

DON’T GO!!! The main dentist there Ben Shyy is a quack, a phony, and will not do a good job on your dental needs. He will try to get away with using the cheapest materials and charge you the most he can with it. They are truly a poor excuse for being a dental place. My bf got a cavity filled there with the white stuff and a month later, it cracked when we were eating at a restaurant!!! Then, the sucker forced us to pay for it anyway even though it was a defective filling! He had the nerve. Since, I have almost perfect teeth, he tried to lure me into getting minor surgery with him. Couldn’t believe he wanted me to get the piece of skin that connects your tongue with your bottom mouth cut. He said that I had tongue tie and told me that I would have better speech if I had this surgery. I told him that I had perfect speech and walked out of there!
