I got referred by a friend to come here and I love Hawaiian food. And I was hungry so I got alot more food thinking I would take some back home. I got the terrayaki chicken and I expected it to look good and taste good. But instead it looked really old and it tasted more like pulled pork and it wasn’t warm it was cold. I was very disappointed I bought at least 20 $ worth of food. And I guess I don’t matter to them

It breaks my heart to write this review, but I have to. I used to go here in their glory days during high school and early college(5 – 10 years ago). That time their food was legit. But now, they’re just not good enough. Haven’t been here for at least a year or two. Went for dinner tonight to get my usual Chicken Teriyaki. First off the place smells like a rat-infested dump. Their main menu sign has not changed ever since I was there in high school and now they had no words on it… Just pictures. I was actually reluctant and regretting ordering my food… There was no one in the restaurant and yet my food took like 10 – 15 minutes to make. And when I ate it I was horrified. Their teriyaki sauce was stale, their chicken had a rubbery texture, and even the rice wasn’t properly cooked. I couldn’t finish it to save my life. This plate was what kept me coming back after so many years and memories, but now that it’s dead it feels like the whole restaurant is dead too. No matter how much this place has a place in my heart(stomach), I have realized that they should do this world some good and close their doors in the near future. Times are changing and Cupertino is changing into the future of society. It’s time a new, unique and better restaurant takes its place.

I am quite impressed with the asian fast food here. Heaping portions of delicious chinese fast food. Best chinese chicken salad around, can be ordered in place of rice in combo meal. I came here all the time when it was King Salad but balked when the name was changed. Came for the first time in a decade and it was like a culinary time warp. Pleased to note soy, sweet & sour, and sriracha sauce are all available in unlimited quantity to dump on meal. Unfortunately, speaking of dumps, it doesn’t appear as if they have cleaned the place since the last time I visited back in 02. Crazy-eyed illegal day laborers occasionally walked in to either use the bathroom or just loiter about in the dining area without making a purchase. In retrospect, I should have attempted to purchase narcotics from one of them. Ambience is so poor I almost went with three stars. Food is king though, and at the former King Salad the food is delicious and plentiful.

A lot of people confuse this J&J for the one on the corner of stelling and Stevens creek!

This typical J & J Hawaiian Barbecue chain was like all of the others I’ve been to. I ordered one Barbeque Hawaiian Chicken Musubi and one Spam Musubi for dinner earlier today. The female cashier was very friendly and even told me about a sale going on — buy one musubi for $ 2.00 and get a drink for just 99 cents more(I believe some musubis were more than $ 2.00). I politely declined, but appreciated her efforts and offer. For tonight, my only concern was that my musubis were shiny from all of the grease. I have never ordered musubis where the seaweed was completely damp from the oil — it was alarming. Otherwise, my musubis were delicious if you ignore the oily exterior.

So happy the old owners are back. had a few months with different owners and staff so if you had a bad experience last time it was probably because of that. Been coming here for 8 years love their masubis can’t keep away. Anyways if you liked them before come back and give this place some business again.

Let’s be clear here. J&J is great because of huge portion sizes for a fairly low price. Is it great chinese or hawaiian food? No(although I do prefer it to Panda…). But it’s not bad and there are a couple things on the menu that are pretty good. Chicken Katsu and curry chicken rice bowl are both pretty great here. If you’re looking for legit chinese or hawaiian food or great quality food in general, this really isn’t the place for you. But if you want a ton of carbs for fairly cheap, then definitely check it out.

The ultimate college food establishment, for students on a budget. Very large portions, w/a cheap price. I’m not a college student but I would hit this place up at least 3 times a week. It will not win awards for nutrition but as a college student on a budget, this is a gold mind. Had the loco moco, spam masubi, and the katsu. All were average to above avg. Lots of stuff to choose from. CHEAP, TASTY, music to a college students ears. Good customer service, good drink selection!

Thank god the original owners are back!!! The people who tried to run the business were HORRIBLE. Portion size and taste was not the same! Also their attitude was not the same vibe Amy –the original owner– had. Amy is awesome and makes effort to getting to know customers. If you’re ever stop by, you would probably seeing her with a smile on her face all the time and talking to her customers! The food was good as well. I would say it is the same taste as L&L, but with better customer service and a staff that actually cares for you and your food!(-:

This is a great place to have a well portioned combo plate with chicken and shrimp –especially their macaroni salad? Their menu is very appetizing YUMMY. It recently had changed back to the previous management that truly knows what they are doing! Keep up the great food!;))) this is located at 20950 Stevens Blvd Cupertino

The original owners are BACK! This place went through a very weird stage the last few months under new management, but I was extremely surprised and happy to see the old place back — the staff, menu, prices, etc. Hawaiian Barbecue places like this are standard fair — you’ve got your mixed plate of short ribs, chicken, and beef over rice and macaroni salad, or Chicken Katsu, or spam musubi, etc. it’s not fast food or fancy food — It’s comfort food that hits the spot. Portion sizes tend to be on the larger size, so a meal can definitely be shared by two adults. Ambiance is on the divey-casual side but clean and welcoming for small groups. It’s a great place for no-fuss, whether having a sit-down meal or having it to go.

These guys are great! I have used them for several of our swim meets for catering. They are cheap and the service here is good. The food is really good too. I recommend the BBQ shortribs and the egg rolls. The fried rice is also delicious :)

I often have to work near this place and it gets the job done as far as Hawaiian BBQ goes. Their mac salad is pretty good. I have stayed away from their chinese food thus far.

I had the BBQ chicken from here a few weeks ago and it was acceptable. However today I came in and asked for Kahlua Pork. Extremely small portion, poor flavor(sweet, not smoky) and mushy rice, plus an extra dollar to sub out my mac salad for mushy, overcooked veggies. Disgusting. Go to L&L instead of coming here.

awesome price, friendly staff. One of the best value for your bucks around. Try not to eat the BBQ or friend katsu too often to be healthy

Not at all the place this used to be. The décor is in need of replacement and having to wait 35 minutes for an order is straight up ridiculous. When I went up to check in the food the cook blamed the cashier and the cashier blamed the cook. When that didn’t fly then they tried to say that they called our number and we didn’t hear; All the while we we’re waiting right there. Suffice to say the food was cold and we won’t be back EVER.

I always wonder why I have to give a star when it wasn’t earned! Drove out there last night during traffic, place order and hand them my cash and coupon from them. They say,” oh we can’t take that yet, we’re not set up” what! How can you offer a coupon with no small print stating dates to be used and send me away? Disappointed, but from what I see on Unilocal,I’m not surprised!

family own version of L&L. VERY friendly . food is good, but the restaurant could be cleaner and kept nicer.
