Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it’s true. This Carl’s Jr. has closed down and the building that used to house it has been pretty much gutted out inside, and the play structure area has been completely torn down. It’s really sad because I remember how this shopping center in general was always busy and bustling with people up until just several years ago. Now, it’s pretty much a ghost town. Only eight stores remain open currently: Great Clips, FedEx Kinko’s, Michael’s, Goodyear Tire & Service Center, the new Rite Aid, Manley’s Donuts, and the two other businesses that sit on both sides of the Manley’s Donut shop(whose names I do not know). Being a longtime Sunnyvale resident, I remember some of the shops that used to be here: * Next to the Great Clips was a Quizno’s and an Oasis Laundromat( ) * Between the Michael’s and the FedEx Kinko’s was a TJMaxx( ) * In where the current Michael’s location is used to be an Any Mountain store * Next to that was a PW Market( ) * Next to that was where the original Michael’s was before moving to the current location * Next to that was the old Rite Aid( ) * The area where the new Rite Aid is was just parking spaces. * Also, back in the day there was a small building by the Homestead entrance where there was a Drinx drive-thru coffee shop that closed down. Strangely enough, the empty building has been sitting there for years and hasn’t been torn down or occupied by any other business( )(and here’s an article about the coffee shop franchise itself: ) Sorry for the mini history lesson haha, but whenever a place that I remember from my childhood closes down, I like to give somewhat of a eulogy so-to-speak. As for the Carl’s Jr. itself, I actually liked this location. I don’t eat fast food often, but when I did come here I remember the employees being friendly and the food being decent. It was also very clean and well-maintained inside, which is surprising for a fast food restaurant. Plus, there was also a play structure here which is very rare among Carl’s Jr. restaurants(here’s a picture of it: ) Btw, those pictures I posted aren’t mine. I found them on Google ;D 4 stars, gone but not forgotten

Once a month I HAVE to come and get a Jalapeño chicken burger from here ! I was at Michaels one day and remembered that I had downloaded the«Happy Star» app for my iPhone and decided to give the wheel a spin since I was close to a location. I was super stoked when the wheel said that I had won a free«6 dollar burger» so I literally ran on over to Carl’s jr and showed the cashier. He took my iPhone… examined it for about a minute; as if he had never seen one before(HELLO??? You’re standing in Cupertino… how can you have not seen an iPhone before??!) and then told me that this offer was not valid for the chicken jalapeño burger because it was not considered a «$ 6» burger. I couldn’t understand what was wrong because Jalapeño burger was clearly called the«$ 6 jalapeño burger» on the menu! I asked to speak to the manager who is usually super nice and always joking with me whenever I come in but the person said he was«away»…I saw him cleaning a table a minute afterwards! I was really sad that I didn’t get my FREE Jalapeño burger and actually had to pay for it when I was SUPPOSED to get it for free! I am never coming here again!

I go here quite often for lunch, as my work is really close to this place They never ever failed to make a delicious burger. The one dude who I think is the manager can be a little bit more polite I think, he talked to me like I was threatening him when I showed him I had a coupon and should of mentioned it before hand. The sky’s not fallin buddy, I kept my cool — so should you. In his defence though, he’s the only one who ALWAYS give me my order right when I drive up to give him my debit card. Talk about fast food. They should be consistent on drink refills though. The manager guy won’t give refills while everyone else there does. No big deal for me though.

I love Carl’s Jr, I love their fried zucchini and I love their burgers. The food tastes like actual food, albeit fried food, yet not something cooked up in a lab like some other chains. It’s terrible stuff anyway, but man is it good. It’s more expensive, maybe 2 or more bucks more, but I find it more satisfying. I really enjoy the food here, but their outdoor seating area and play structure for the kiddos needs some help. Right now they have white flimsy patio plastic furniture that marks up one’s clothes with whitish marks from the plastic sitting out for way too long. Their play structure has some wear in the webbing and an area or two has holes in that material, not that I’m terrified, just noting. I like the service, but if they don’t have things cooked up right away it’s not uncommon for the staff to ask you to pull your car to the front of the restaurant so they can bring the food out to you. This doesn’t bother me but it might bug some who are used to getting the food right away. I’ll keep coming back, my fried zucchini addiction is just that strong. The interior decoration, ehhh, it’s a place to sit and fairly clean but nothing spectacular… could use a freshening up. BTW, I noticed that a lot of small groups of men tend to go here, like contractor types… not sure why, maybe they just like a good burger!!! Noticed it more here than any other place and there are other fast food options(McD’s, KFC/Taco Bell, Subway) around the area… just sayin’.

Had lunch here today. CJ is my fall back buger place that I go to at least once a month. don;t tell the wife. I just want to point out that these folks here are so polite. Thank you sir, have a nice day. Does this complete your order, etc? Well trained staff sets this place apart from any other CJ or burger place for that matter. Great job guys!

In at least one of my past reviews I’ve written something along the lines of the following: «A great host can make up for poor food, but great food can’t make up for poor service.» This place is a perfect example of this. I HATE fast food. That said I love the jalapeño double burger from Carl’s Jr. When I first started working at Goodyear at the opposite end of the parking lot about 3 years ago I used to come here often. I was young and dumb… and I didn’t know what good service was. The manager lady(the Indian lady, I think she’s a manager anyway) here is so very rude and has messed up my order on more than one occasion. I only ever order ONETHING from Carl’s Jr.: the jalapeño double burger. One time I said that it wasn’t what I ordered, and she argued with me, stating that I had, in fact, ordered the Avacado something-or-rather that her server gave me. We went back and forth, and the server took my food back and I heard the manager lady say to the server, «He’s lying he said that not the jalapeño burger.» Bullshit man. Definitely keep those comments to the backroom where I can’t hear you. I’ve received a few free food coupons from their corporate office and I’ve NEVER used them… I boycott this place to the death. Two stars because they make the only fast food burger I can stand eating.

Pretty good burger here… I got the Superstar and the drive through was pretty quick. I’ve been eatin’ a lot of junk lately so it hasn’t been the healthiest of diets. But the burger crave was met here at Carl’s.
