Went here because of a Groupon. We had a pretty good time! There was a huge variety of food and the pictures on the menu was nice. I think the staff assumed we were Chinese but we had no idea what they were saying… LOL The interior of the restaurant was really bright & family-friendly. I wasn’t sure what to expect from Unilocal reviews, but I’ve been in the plaza before for TenRen. :) Such a good place for all the food and milk tea shops afterwards. We ordered the pork ribs, stir fry sweet pea leaves, spicy chicken, beef with eggplant, & fried rice. Everything but the eggplant was a bit on the salty+oily side. It was still delicious though. Idk if we would drive all the way there to go here again but solid 4⁄5!

Update… tried something else and it was good! Sour cabbage/lamb noodle soup — one of my favorites during the winter. Plus bonus points for being open late(I think until 1 am on Saturday at least?).

Great food with different variety. The service is good and fast. Usually there is no wait which makes it more enjoyable. They have a high credit card minimum $ 35 so remember to bring cash if you are going in a small group.

Came here twice for dinner, both times were enjoyable. The interior was very clean. The service was also very good compared to other Chinese places. They were polite and easy to communicate with. We tried the szechuan style beef noodle soup(川味牛肉麵), scallop with egg white fried rice(瑤柱蛋白炒飯) and yangzhou fried rice(揚州炒飯), which were all good. I also particularly enjoyed the spicy couple beef(夫妻肺片) and beef tomato stew clay pot(牛腩西紅柿煲). The beef tomato stew can be spread on top of any rice you order. For desserts, I recommend the rice dumplings in rice wine soup(酒釀湯圓), which was served hot with small sesame rice balls. This dessert is 7.99 but comes in a huge bowl and can be easily split among 4 people. I would just get the whole bowl for myself though. The cold rice wine tofu pudding(酒釀豆腐) is also good although it’s in a smaller size. Would definitely come back to try other dishes.

Love their spicy mushroom hot pot. Their spicy Taiwanese beef noodle soup doesn’t pull any punches. It’s delicious and spicy(although I wish the noodles were a bit chewier). We had some kind of spicy fish fillet boiled that was delicious. They also had some tasty non-spicy dishes(short ribs, lily bulbs). Can’t wait to go back for more.

4STAR. Apple Green Bistro is a really good Szechuan style restaurant in the Cupertino Village shopping complex. Highly recommend the Szechuan beef noodle soup, the sweet sour spare ribs, and the Szechuan boiled fish fillet. I’ve been to this restaurant a couple times now, and there are so many options at this restaurant. It is newly opened and newly renovated(not sure what type of restaurant it was before). When you look at the menu, you will see that they have traditional Chinese and Szechuan style dishes, but they also have hot pot, and(randomly) sushi! We’ve only gone to this restaurant to try out the Szechuan style dishes. Here’s a breakdown of what I’ve tried in my last 2 visit, along with my ratings: 1. Szechuan beef noodle soup, $ 8.99(rate a 4 – 4.5 out of 5): this is the one dish that I’ve ordered both times I’ve gone. If you like my spicy beef noodle soup, then you should get this. It’s very oily, but the noodles and flavor are so good. It comes with bok choy, and an ample amount of beef and ramen noodles. Love this dish — you should order it too. 2. Sweet sour spare ribs, $ 10.99(rate a 4 out of 5): ordered this for the first time yesterday. One of the few non-spicy dishes to order that’s on their recommended dishes menu. I really enjoyed the sweetness of this dish. They are smaller pieces of spare ribs, but they are crispy and tender, and the sauce is great. Definitely recommend. 3. Szechuan boiled fish fillet, $ 12.99(rate a 4 out of 5): ordered this dish once as well, and I was pleasantly surprised. It is a generous portion of fish served with chili oil, chili flakes, green onion, and sautéed garlic, served over bean sprouts. Not a bad take on Szechuan boiled fish fillet. Would order this again. 4. Beef chow fun, $ 8.99(rate a 3.5−4 out of 5): I’ve had a lot of chow fun, and the beef chow fun here is pretty decent, but not the best I’ve ever had. It’s a standard dish. Probably something good for a late night snack when you have the munchies. 5. Couple beef, $ 6.99(rate a 2.5−3 out of 5): I’ve never had this before, and we ordered it during our first visit. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the taste, but my friend said it’s like an acquired taste. This dish is served cold in spicy sauce, and isn’t bad, but just isn’t my preference. 6. General chicken $ 9.99(rate a 3 – 3.5 out of 5): pretty standard dish here. Nothing too fancy to summarize. Fried chicken with a sweet and spicy sauce. I’ve only tried these 6 dishes, but hope to try more in my next visit. There have to be over 300 items on the total menu(including hot pot and sushi). I don’t think I’ll try the sushi, but I definitely want to try all of the Chinese Szechuan options. Prices are really reasonable at Apple Green Bistro, and there is ample seating, so we’ve never had to wait for a table. Will definitely return and highly recommend.

Very nice Chinese food. Very authentic. The food is delicious. The service is great. I love the cauliflower here. They have many many choices on the menu. So don’t worry you can’t find anything to order.

One of the best Chinese food restaurants I’ve tried in South Bay and definitely the best in the plaza it’s in. The spicy beef noodle soup is by far the best of its category. The Couple Beef is also extremely tasty. The Unilocal deal makes this place fantastic if you want to go for both food quality as well as value. Been back a couple of times now and taken my entire team there as well.

This is a review for the Sushi only. I had purchased the Groupon deal $ 18 for $ 30 worth of Sushi. The sushi was disgusting and not fresh. I would compare the quality of the sushi to that of sushi at an all-you-can-eat buffet. My total bill came out to about $ 50 after tip and tax(before applying the Groupon). I would have been extremely upset if I didn’t have the Groupon. In my opinion the restaurant is harming itself by selling sushi. The Chinese food looked a lot better but I am hesitant to come back to try the Chinese food if the sushi was such poor quality and taste.

This restaurant changes a new menu and add a lot of new dishes. For myself I like steamed pork w/preserved cabbage and little mixed King. They’re really delicious. The good news is the seafood tofu in clay pot that adds several sea cucumber. We are enjoy in it. The service still very nice and not like other Chinese restaurants. We are definitely keeping come back.

Food: 1.5 star Service: 4 star Environment: 4 star First time been here. They serve Dongbei style Chinese food, Szechuan style Chinese food, and sushi. Which is weird. Szechuan style Chinese food is always my favorite so I tired 口水鸡 and 干锅肥肠. Both chicken and Intense are obviously been frizzed multiply times which is neither tender nor juicy. Beside the bad quality of their food materials. The flavor is horrible too. The owner of this restaurant has Dongbei accent so I assume their Dongbei style Chinese food are better than their Szechuan style food and sushi maybe? Their service is good tho.

Really good food! We stumbled upon this place by accident when one of our favorites, Nutrition House was packed. And this place was new. My wife is from Beijing and pretty picky about get Chinese food. We all loved it! Even my parents who came with us and my daughter too. We liked that they had both sushi and Chinese food. Both were really good. And unlike many Chinese restaurants, this one has really good service. The atmosphere is also really nice here. We came back the next week and it was just as good. We look forward to many more visits!

Sorry to say that this is the worst tasting Chinese food in the Bay Area. Ordered two dishes and the base sauce were the same. Also very salty. Ordered a pancake, but it was not fully cooked, and it smelled funny as if the cooking pots were not clean. Lots of improvements needed.

Forst time coming here and family is celebrating parent’s 30th anniversary and my 25th birthday today but first impression of this restaurant is so bad. Came here because mom saw their ad on the Chinese newspaper and after ordering we asked about their promo(spend $ 30 and get a free crab dish) but we were informed that we had clip the coupon from the newspaper and bring it to the store. I run a business too and if this situation occurs, yes you have your«rules» regarding having to bring in a coupon but seriously? Your customer knows about it because they read your ad. Your customer is here dinning at your restaurant because of your ad. Yet you are so persistent that customers need to bring in the ad… Telling your customer to bring in the ad next time they come too… do you think your customer will want to come back? Your ad is frequently in the newspaper too. First this happens and then they bring out the wrong dish. Not even interested now if their food tastes any good.

To be honest. I should really give it 1 star for the food. But the service was decent for a Chinese restaurant so I’m adding that star back to be fair for the servers. We ordered the Spicy Fish(金牌水煮魚), Walnut Prawns(核桃蝦)and the Bun with Beef Slices(燒餅夾肉). To start off, the walnut prawns were heavy with batter coated with thick mayonnaise. The kind where you could find at Panda Express which is sticky and heavy. The spicy fish at first taste was decent. Since the dish is spicy and has a lot of peppercorn, it’s hard to really«taste» the dish except the spice. That’s expected for a Szechuan dish, but as I dig into the bean sprouts and napa cabbage, I began to notice a foul smelling taste, kind of like it is rotten. Now I’m Taiwanese. We eat stinky tofu. So this girl can take and appreciate spoiled and fermented food. This dish wasn’t intended to be like fermented at all. I asked the boyfriend if he tasted it, but he said he didn’t notice it, so I didn’t think much of it, thinking it could be my tastebud. We had leftovers and packed the spicy fish and the bun with beef home. The next day we heated them up for lunch, and by that point, they were foul when I opened the take out box, which then I realized it was already spoiled when we ate them at the restaurant and I was right all along. Even the bun was spoiled. This made me wonder how many of the other folks that night had the same spoiled cabbages and bean sprouts.

3.5 Stars. This is the first time we came. I’ll update when I get a more accurate rating. I like that they open till 1am. We came here around 10pm, so we probably got the late-night chefs. I won’t order any of the dishes I got again: Couple Beef(appetizer) $ 6.99 — very pungent of Sichuan peppercorns and swimming in chili oil. Tendons are slightly undercooked and are a bit less bendy in texture. Fried Eggplant Meat Sizzling Plate $ 12.99(with shreds of bell pepper, wood ear and bamboo) — the meat sandwiched inside eggplant tastes like corned beef and it is like what some restaurant use in meat-only dumplings; its saltiness dominates the taste of the eggplant. The eggplant is soaked in oil. The batter coating the eggplant is doughy and gets soggy with the sauce. Beef Chow Fun $ 8.99 — flavor is mostly of soy sauce. I wish there is more caramelization in the noodles, and more aroma of the onions/garlic. Hot Spicy Crab(free! for $ 30+) — flavor is very similar to the Couple Beef. Crab was probably frozen. Not sure what family of crab it was, not meaty and not terribly skinny. Difficult to eat without making a mess. We were one of two tables of customers while we were there. People who work here are very nice. Service is fast and responsive. Interior looks decent just like the previous restaurant that was here(Ma’s).

Sl in their marquee it has the word sushi. Weird as i saw no raw fish preparations on the menu. It’s a sichuan style resto. And they do that cuisine very well. Cumin lamb chops, dry fried pork ribs, pork belly sour cabbage soup, chili mala crab, shredded potato with peppers and vinegar, and steamed fish with ginger and tofu. All really solid. We looked like we were ate a wedding banquet cause we ordered so much. Everything was really flavorful. Employees are friendly unlike your usual Chinese joints and they even had no issues talking care of my friends gluten allergy. It’s a large menu so im definitely going back to try more. 4.3 stars

Came here with a group of friends hoping to get some Ma’s Restaurant food, but was surprised to find Apple Green Bistro instead. Since it was their grand opening day, we decided to check them out! They have a really expansive menu, so good luck digging through all the choices. Options range from sichuan(spicy), north eastern(cumin lamb stuff), to dimsum. We ordered: Grilled eggplant w/meat on sizzling plate 12.99 Our table agreed this was the best dish of the bunch! Even the one who usually dislikes eggplant gave it thumbs up. It was basically pieces of soft but almost tempura-like crusted eggplant which sandwiched ground meat, all mixed with onions/veggies and this yummy sauce. Couple beef(fu ji fei pian) 6.99 Classic sichuan appetizer! This one was great. The meat was leaner than most places, and if you like tendon, they gave a good portion of that. There was a bunch of sliced cucumber on the bottom which made it look deceivingly more generous though. Mapo Tofu 8.99 I’d say pass on this! I’ve had more flavorful mapo before. Chongqing spicy chicken 12.99 Very fried, not very spicy at all. Some pieces had a lot of broken bone in them that made it tiring to eat. Sweet and sour spareribs 10.99 Not bad! Very saucy, but a bit too sweet for me. Tea tree mushroom in hotpot 13.99 The least loved dish of the group. Unexpectedly, it was the spiciest dish we got. Could have been more flavorful! They also gave tables who ordered more than $ 30 worth of food got a complimentary plate of clams which was awesome! Service in general was quite pleasant. They were always close by and speedy with tea/water refills. I think if I come back, I’ll definitely try more of the chef specials.
