Got a great haircut and it was quick. Lily listened to my needs and wants. The salon the clean. I am so glad I found the place!

Got my hair cut here by Lily here a couple of times in the past few years. She is always willing to listen to how I want to style my hair and has a bunch of books for browsing too if I haven’t decided yet. Lily also gave me some tips on how to maintain the style I asked for and suggestions on what might look better with my face. I really appreciated that since I’m pretty oblivious in this respect!
She’s not that good at small talk, but still asked me a little about myself and how I was doing since the last time I’ve been here. There’s two or three other hairdressers there that can cut your hair, but I always call ahead and make an appointment with Lily specifically.
I have long hair, so my cut is usually $ 25 plus tip. I’m not one to pay an arm and a leg for a haircut (plus I’m not good at maintaining expensive haircuts either) so this place works for me. Decent haircut by a nice hairdresser for a very reasonable price. If that’s what you’re looking for, I definitely recommend Lily here at Ah-​Hong Salon.

Ah-​Hong is an excellent hair stylist. She is very pleasant too. Loved the way she colored and cut my hair. I will definitely go back there. Lilly the other stylist seems to be an awesome one too as she also had many clients. I would recommend this salon.

I got a shampoo and style just as good as I would have at Dry Bar for exactly ¹⁄₃ of the cost. The ladies that work there are fun to be around, and I will definitely be back before my next event.

Ah-​hong is a very skilled stylist. She works quickly and effectively. She’s been cutting my kids hair for the last year and always does a good job. My 9yr old likes it because he doesn’t have to sit in the chair with the hot cape on him for longer than 15 mins.

Ah-​hong is the name of the owner and she’s a no-​nonsense hair stylist.
I brought a picture and she cut it very close to exactly how I wanted it. I pointed out things I liked and did not like as we we were going, and she was very observant.
Most OTHER hair stylists have their own style and a bit of their own stubbornness. No matter how much you tell them you want something a certain way, they will not cut it that way because it goes against what they believe looks nice. This can be very annoying…
However, Ah-​hong knows when she should give you input and when it’s better to do exactly as you ask. If you think something should be fixed, she will gladly go back and alter the cut as you ask. She makes me feel very comfortable about requesting her to cut a certain way — a quality many stylists lack.
Her price is very reasonable and a breath of fresh air given how many overpriced salons there are around here. $ 13 for a men’s cut. I tipped plenty extra to get her to remember me because I’ll be going back.
Knocking off 1 star because she appears to cut average people’s hair and, thus, probably doesn’t deal with trendy hair — so bring a picture of what you’d like!

Lyly gave me probably the best cut in a long time. Got a great cut and shampoo treatment for $ 17 and I tip $ 4 so $ 21 total. I usually get shampoo and re do the top in case any miss hairs. Lyly is the first to offer to rinse it again with no additional charge. She said she has a lot of clientele from my work and I can see my self coming here often. I really enjoyed the Conditioning treatment she picked up at a hair show it felt minty on my scalp very enjoyable. Great work Lyly

Great place, especially to get a quick trim. She’s fast, intuitive, and also did a great job working with existing ombré work that I had going on. I think the whole thing took around 30 minutes, from getting there, waiting, and then getting my trim. Whenever I’m in Cupertino, I’ll totally come back here for a quick trim up to keep my ends healthy.

My mom, my sister, and I all come here to get our hair cut by Ah Hong and she does a great job for all of us. Half the time, I just come for relayering and trimming my hair, and the other times I come to actually shorten my hair. I’m always satisfied with both. My hair always has more shape and volume afterward. She’s very patient and even when there are other people waiting, she’ll ask me to check and see if the cut looks good. Overall, great service and great value, I would definitely recommend this place!

A friend recommended Lili and I decided to give it a shot. I’ve never really groomed my hair and I’m extremely happy I decided to go here. Lili was really friendly and was able to finish my haircut in around 15 minutes, and I’ve never felt this confident about my hair!

I’ve come to Ah-Hong’s salon for a couple of years now, and the haircuts are of good quality. If you come here, speaking Mandarin helps, and be sure to call ahead and ask for Ah-​Hong herself. The shop is open pretty late (til 9 PM) though the barbers tend to run a bit behind so a little wait time is required. As far as haircuts go, they are not very expensive and decent. However, the most recent haircut I got was not as good as the last one, so I would say 3.5 stars.

Ive been coming here religiously for 2 years. This time she completely messed up the cut, two sides are not even and she insisted there’s nothing wrong.
Ok, if you are so rude and proud to not care about customer then I will go somewhere else and let the world know not to go to you.

Still loving Ah-​Hong! It’s been three years since my last haircut and I called her to schedule an appointment. Came in today to get my haircut and she was ready for me! She even remembered how I like my hair!
I basically wanted the same as I always do. Except a little longer so I can still tie it up so my baby can’t yank on my hair. Everything came out just as I like it!
Would definitely recommend Ah-​Hong as she has been the only one allowed to cut my hair in many many years!

I’ve had my hair cut by Ah-​Hong before without problem. This time when I went, she was busy so another lady cut my hair. I had a simple request — just trim my hair and bangs. I spoke in both English and Mandarin but the lady just did not understand me for some reason. I asked for my bangs to be right below the eyebrows, and she right away cut it about half an inch above my eyebrows.. .. I had to ask her to stop. Her response was, «let me finish. when I dry your bangs, it’ll get even shorter, yeah?»
My bangs are going to stay pinned for the next few weeks.. . it turned out way worse than if I had just cut it myself. She was nice, but just.. . a very bad hairdresser.
If you go — ask for Ah-​Hong. I’d expect that you would get better results.

By far the best haircut I got in a long time! I had gotten off work early, had the urge get a whole new look (which included bangs), googled some images for ideas, the went straight to Unilocal,and found AH-​Hong.
I walked right in, without an appointment, and luckily I she was able to take be in 5 minutes. I showed the picture of the cut I had in mind, she didn’t say too much and went right to cutting. Within 25 minutes I had beautiful layers and gorgeous! To top it off, she told me it was $ 23!!! My hair honestly looks better than when I paid $ 75 for a haircut.
I am not sure how many people work there but it’s really nice on the inside, next to a yoga studio, and had like 4 chairs.
All in all not a high end salon but they get the job done for a very fair price.

She gave me an up and down and wanted to overcharge me for a SHORT hair trim ! I walked out the door. Enough said.
***update I’m going now to give the store a 1. First it looks completely outdated for Cupertino standards just go to Mint hair salon down the street girls or affordable Artisic Hair Design for $ 16 on even long hair and nice layers. And the owner said it herself i had SHORT hair. how are you gonna overcharge me for short hair?
I will gladly pay more money at Cali Hair $ 50 – 60 to have more style then what this sorry place probably offers. To be fair, I did not want to get my hair cut here, or let that lady 2 feet near my SHORT hair.
The owner’s comment shows she can be a condescending snob.
Expect her to look at your handbag then overcharge. That’s the service you can expect. I’m done here peace
