This place looks nice and professional, and I expected to love it. My actual experience was quite different. I’ve worn contacts for 35 years. Unfortunately, I’ve had an unusual history of vision problems that have required surgery, and so I’m not a typical patient. I explained my history to the staff, and had what seemed to be a comprehensive exam. However, when it came time to fit me for contacts, there was only one lens brand that I was offered. I didn’t feel that they fit well, and said so. The doctor did not examine me after the lenses were on my eyes to see if they fit. I was sent on my way in uncomfortable multifocal lenses, and was told that it would take four or five days for me to get used to them. When my vision did not improve and the lenses continued to be uncomfortable, I returned to the office. Again I was given the same brand and fit of contact lenses, this time in a different variety. Again the doctor did not look at them on my eyes. When I asked about this, I was put in the office with a young man — a nice guy, and seemingly very good at his job as a technician — and he examined the fit of the lenses, something that he’s not trained or qualified or licensed to do. I knew better, but I went along with this anyway for a moment. My previous doctor had been clear that I needed to worry about oxygen getting to my eyes, and wanted me to wear«looser» lenses. I asked this young man about the fit of these lenses, and specifically asked if he could see oxygen bubbles able to get under the lenses. It, was obvious from the look on his face that he didn’t know what I was talking about. He lied, and said that he did see bubbles. He then decided that I probably needed to see the doctor. When the doctor did come in and spoke with me about my options, he did not ever again bother to look at the fit of the lenses. When I left the office that day, one of the staff said«Goodbye, problem,» but when I asked her to repeat what she said, she would not. These lenses, the same fit as before, were uncomfortable, drying, and did not fit. On my third visit, I told a technician — a very kind lady — that I was frustrated and had not had so many problems with contact fittings before. I complained that the doctor had not bothered to look at the fit of the lenses on my eyes, I told her I didn’t think the doctor much cared for doing the job well, and I suggested that maybe he was only interested in pushing one brand of lenses She left the room, and the doctor came in, clearly agitated. It told the doctor how uncomfortable and drying the lenses were, and how they caused my right eye so much pain that I had to remove them. When I pulled them out, I explained, I found that the right lens had actually torn in my very dry right eye, a little wedge-shaped piece missing from the edge. The doctor gruffly blamed me for this, saying that people often pinch them too much when removing them! Remember, I’ve worn lenses for 35 years, and have torn only one contact in my life! I went back to wearing old lenses. I called and told the kind technician that I wouldn’t bother them any longer if she’d just get me a pair of a specific brand of lenses that I’d worn before that fit well. She did, and when I picked them up, no one in the office had anything to say to me; I was clearly not welcome. I found another doctor. She took time with me to make sure the lenses fit, as a good doctor should. She offered me multiple varieties of lenses, and said that there were so many things on the market that we had a lot of choices in brand and type. She immediately offered to order several types of lenses, and took the time to explain each, and why they were different. Her attention to detail underscored for me just how unprofessional and rushed my experience at Clarity Vision Group really was. For my exam fee at Clarity, I didn’t ever get a completed contact lens exam. Likewise, my wife, a new contact lens wearer, didn’t get a pair of contacts because — surprise! — she was given the same brand of lenses, which were also uncomfortable to her. She did purchase a pair of glasses for about $ 500, but after her second visit with the doctor, he changed her prescription! The glasses are now the wrong prescription, and she only rarely uses them. I would not recommend this business under any circumstances.
