McDonald’s

All I can say about this place, is that it is filthy — seems to be a common thread in their locations in Cumberland. Flies are everywhere. It seems like that drive-​thru has priority, so you might have to wait a while to get your food. In the morning, there is a very sweet lady that works the drive-​thru. she does make your day.
There are alot of people that just seem to be hanging around for whatever reason. Would definitely scare off visitors to the area.

READ THIS REVIEW FIRST: I am a local and work downtown so I can give you a clear review of this McDonalds. Which I will paint with vivid imagery:
LOCATION: Near highway and downtown shopping. Unfortunately from 11AM-​8PM the area «filth» frequent this area heavily. As a citizen of the city it pains me to describe them as dirty. loud. lewd. obscene folk that are the able-​body «disabled» and just pick up a check every month. If you want a learning tool for your child on what to scare them into being motivated to do homework. wheel on in. This isn’t something that McDonalds can help but still it takes away from your experience. Especially when you are solicited to give 10cents or asked if you have a cigarette.
CLEANLINESS: The restaurant is usually kept well– good amount of seating yet from 6AM-​9AM count on the elderly camped inside. Nothing wrong with that– you’ll hear spirited discussion on politics, weather, and even alien abductions.
STAFF: There is one manager that has it together, and a very courteous drive thru cashier but THAT IS IT. If Matt Leasure isn’t in… Walk out and find another place. The front clerks are RUDE. OBNOXIOUS. DISRESPECTFUL. And DISHEVELED. I’ve been going there for 5 years and ordering two lattes and get argued with on what I just ordered when they mess it up.
EXECUTION: It is by far. The slowest fast food place in the nation. Bar none. They will skip over your order repeatedly. make up excuses and act as if your order is to blame.
BUYER BEWARE.

So, I came to town to photograph a statue that actually wasn’t there, and ended up photographing the marker for the beginning of the National Road, since I’ve been on U.S. 40 in every state where it goes, and also on U.S. 66 in many of the states where it was and where I-​40 goes now.
I have a lot of headaches, and iced or frozen coffee usually works and the price at McDonald’s is reasonable.
The parking lot was full and the parking lot at the shopping center was nearly full, but I found a place. (What’s with the parking in this town?)
There seemed to be a lot of people hanging out around the store, and it seemed to be really busy. It wasn’t too long (at lunch time, no less) for someone to wait on me. She tried to be cheerful, but she seemed to be dragging, probably since 5 a.m. She took care of my order and my mocha frappé, and got it to me quickly and it was as good as any I’ve had in the country.

On a recent road trip that took me through Western Maryland, I found myself in Cumberland in search of a bathroom and a snack. With a couple of options to choose from, I followed the signs to this nearby McDonald’s.
In what now seems like a fortunate sequence of events, I headed to the bathroom first. As it was a rainy afternoon, I slip-​slided my way to the bathroom door. The tile, a slippery puddle-​strewn mess was devoid of rugs or anything for that matter, to dry my shoes off on. Therefore, I literally skated to these back doors. In a rush to finish my business, it wasn’t until I was washing my hands that I noted my audience.. . no less than 8 flies (yes, I counted whilst drying my hands), were perched on the walls with others buzzing around above my head. Horrified at the quantity found in this small area of the restaurant, I thought it best to not order food here.
My male travelling companion unfortunately, recounted a similar tale as we exited the establishment. No thank you!!!

Very busy but nice staff. I think seniors get a discount which is good
