Call ahead to make sure the kitchen is open before you go. We drove over 90 miles one way and found out the kitchen was closed. They need to post that info on their page.

I finally know what«Southern Hospitality» is after coming here! You walk into a coffee shop where students are seated sipping on their coffee with their face stuffed into textbooks. There is a couch area with a fireplace and a corner stuffed with pillows. It’s very clear that people come here a lot to study or just chill. Then the nice lady behind the counter escorts you to the dining area which is secluded from the coffee shop and a waitress takes your order. When you look around, there are decorations everywhere: pictures, lamps, vases etc. I got the black bean burger as recommended by other Unilocal reviewers and I absolutely loved it. Probably the best black bean burger I’ve had. The fires were delicious and crispy. And you get a small side option, so I chose the fruit which was pineapple. I was nervous to try any restaurants in this tristate area because everyone says that«outsiders from the city» will not like it because the restaurant standards are much lower here. Well they must have not tried ‘The Pineapple Tea Room’ because the food here is delicious and the ambiance is very homey.

I’ve been here a couple of times now and this is the only restaurant in the area that I’ve been to so far that hasn’t been disappointing food-wise. I got the turkey panini both times and like it a lot. I made a mistake and didn’t pay the extra .75 for fries the first time because they are really good. The coffee does take awhile, so you can’t be in a hurry, but on the other hand, lattes are super cheap. I got a large chai latte and it literally came in a mug that could have been used as a cereal bowl.

PTR = Amazing! Delicious fries and black bean burgers! Ask for their spicy sauce if you like it spicy! They open up at 7:00am for coffee/breakfast, but don’t start serving their grilled items until 11:00am. Free wifi and parking is easy! You can bring your group here because there is plenty of seating! You can also reserve the entire place for your event after 7:00pm, just call ahead and let Sue or Brian know. If you’re an LMU/DCOM/PA/CVM/Nursing student, you can cater your food from here. They will serve you quality food. You should talk to Brian and he will tell you everything including things he can cater that aren’t on the menu. If you’re a tourist, stop by here for quick advice by Sue and Brian. They know their stuff about Cumberland Gap, and this is a semi visitor center.

This is a cool place. The servers are helpful, and the sandwiches are always fresh and imaginative. They have nice tea, and it is a great little place in a funky little downtown.

PTR has become a haven for med students living in and around Cumberland Gap. Coffee and espressos are more than affordable with $ 1 cups of coffee. This place is also a favorite amongst tourists visiting Cumberland Gap National Park and the town. Between the wonderful service and good food, PTR is a gem hidden in the mountains of Appalachia! If you’re coming in for lunch, try the chipotle wrap with extra chipotle sauce. The black bean burger for vegetarians(and non-vegetarians) is also a favorite amongst customers. When coming in, be sure to ask for Susan. She’ll tell you the ins and outs of this historic town. Again, super friendly place to relax and have lunch, smoothies, or espressos.

Excellent coffee! Me and my girlfriend went here for a date night. The environment is comfortable and everyone is friendly. It’s a bit cheaper then the other shops nearby.

Great little place with great atmosphere. We were tooling around one Saturday and found ourselves in Cumberland Gap walking the streets. Not very many stores were open but the Pineapple Tea Room looking invited so we went in. We had already eaten but decided on lattes and hot chocolate to warm us up. The drinks were exceptional and the coziness of the place made it even better. We will definitely take a trip back for lunch.

The cutest little coffee shop and café, perfectly priced. They have EVERY coffee or tea drink imaginable with tons of flavoring options. Their base menu is delicious and they commonly have specials that are even better, for a great price. Susan and Brian do an excellent job and are so friendly and accommodating, I eat here at least once a week.

I never knew the hours for the longest time! But finally when I came in and ate everything was great! The pineapple tea is really good! One of my friends really got addicted to it. Their entrees are huge! The chipotle chicken wrap is phenomenal. It comes with the entrée, chips, a side, and a small bite size pineapple cake. The grape salad is like heaven on earth. They have also opened up a coffee shop next door that is affordable compared to other places around the area. The owner is the sweetest lady in the world. I called one day to ask for the hours and she told me I could come in anytime if I ever need a cup of coffee because they live upstairs! I loved the welcoming nature. And she is really willing to do what she can. This is a place that was needed in this area because there is a medical school and university! I love this place! Definitely check it out and experience the hospitality!
