PLEASE Do NOT GO Here! This place not only ripped me off it took them 56 Days to fix my car! Which my insurance only covered 30 days of it. The «Shop» said not to worry and they will pay for the extra car rental expenses since it was taking so long for repair which they NEVER did. I was stuck with a $ 900 Enterprise Bill and they neglect to answer my calls, emails, messages. Their phone systems is whacked! Always busy or non one ever answers. They are never open Saturday’s & Sunday’s and leave early Friday’s. If it’s a Holiday they seem to take a entire 5 – 7 days off. So your car won’t get serviced and will just be sitting there. Please DO NOT go there! They are scams! Unfortunately I didn’t do my usual Google research ahead of time about this company but please do! Go to the BBB! They have complaint after complaint. The company Changes their name every few years so new customers don’t see all their bad reviews and complaints but it’s the SAME OWNERS! Please beware! ‼

Wish I had checked Unilocal before going to The Shop Automotive initially. Had my brake calipers painted about a year ago. Moe said that they take the calipers off the car before painting. (bullshit) It took four days instead of the original two days Moe had told me. Still, the calipers looked good when I picked the car up and I was happy. But then two months ago the original color began to show again on all four wheels. I called Moe and he said bring it in on Monday and he’d redo it. I took the car in on Monday and was told it would be ready by Tuesday end of day. I then got a call on Tues. afternoon telling me that it would take another day and to come by on Wed. no later than 5pm to get the car. I called at 3:45pm (always get voice mail, never a real human) to tell them I was leaving my house to come pick up the car.
I got there at 4:50 only to find my car up on blocks with plastic sheeting covering it and Moe said they needed yet another day. To say the least I was a bit upset. Any well run business would have called earlier in the day to advise me that the car would not be ready. I arranged for a friend to drop me and was then going to continue to meet some friends for drinks and dinner after picking up the car. Obviously this threw a monkey wrench into all those plans. Moe did not apologize and simply said «I can get you an Über». I responded that I could get my own Über and that I was pretty upset that no one had the courtesy to call me first. He said he didn’t know why I was getting upset. REALLY? Talk about clueless. He then told me to @*#F off and that when I came back tomorrow to pick up my car to «be prepared to pay for it because he was doing me a favor»! This has to be one of the worst run businesses in Los Angeles and with that kind of attitude I can’t believe he’s still in business. Also, it was pretty obvious that they didn’t take the calipers off the car to paint them, as I saw it covered in plastic and up on blocks with the calipers on the car. Obviously there won’t be any glowing recommendations to family and friends to use The Shop Automotive anytime soon. Unless one enjoys being told to go @#*F yourself because you showed up when they told you the car would be ready.

These bad reviews are absolutely absurd and I can’t believe they have been posted on here. I took my car to The Shop about 5 times now for various issues and my experience was always great. The work always got done on time and always looked great. They detailed my car every time prior to returning it when they didn’t need to do that since the work done was to the interior of the car and not the exterior. Moe is extremely kind and will be honest how long the work is going to take. The time I took it to him for an insurance claim it took longer than the other times but that was because of the insurance company and not because of the shop. They can not start work without approval and payment from the insurance company. So if for any reason the work isn’t done in a timely manner for insurance claims then call and complain to your insurance company and write a negative Unilocal review about them. I just recently got my Porsche blacked out by them and it looks great and was done quickly even though I had dropped it off during the holidays. If you want an affordable and efficient place to take you care then this is the place!

This place is the definition of your typical scumbag bodyshop Mo charged me double of what most body shops would charge for my Honda Prelude saying that he went «above and beyond» quoting me 2 to 3 weeks ended up taking over two months in his receptionist said it was taking so long because The radiator was on backorder so I personally ordered one to get the liver next day for $ 100 off then she tells me it’s the support housing not the radiator And Mo is a scumbag Who didn’t even admit that they were at fault and to top it all off when I went to pick the car up the rearview mirror was sitting on the passenger seat so I asked the guy why they didn’t put it back on because it wasn’t like that and he said «uhhhhh I don’t think we have the glue try Pep Boys“horrible customer service mediocre work and priced up the ass

I have been searching for a place to take my 64 chevelle convertible and have it painted. My buddy Jay recommended the shop cc. I went in and they really know their stuff from bodywork to mechanical they got it covered. My car is not finished yet but I have been watching the progress it’s gonna be ready for the summer. It’s really great when you can find a place that likes to work on older hot rods and customs. They take their time and do a great job. Thanks Moe.

I was also was referred by a friend.
After the car was done, I had issues
with the insurance company that should have been resolved with the body shop.(victors)
Mo didnt want to help or do the right thing.
In all fairness, on the work or repair that was done to the car was satisfactory.
but I got screwed in the end and to add insult to injury
Mo put 300 miles on my car, (fact) if thats ok with you then by all means, give Mo the work
I would find another shop,
if you ignore this warning, you could end up paying the price like I did.

Mo and his team at the Shop were an absolute pleasure to work with during the time my car was getting repaired. After I scheduled to drop my car off with them, they arranged for a car rental agent to come and pick me up and take me to the rental shop down the street, making things extremely seamless and convenient.
Mo and Liz provided me with exceptional service and the results were fantastic. The rates and The Shop are extremely reasonable, however, that does not take away from the quality of work they deliver.
In addition to getting my bumper repaired, Mo arranged to get my entire car de-​dinged and detailed for a great price.
I would definitely use them again and am glad to have found a high quality and reputable car repair shop in Culver City. They will definitely be my go to place for all things automotive.

Paint, repair, custom modifications the shop have it all. All of the guys are awesome! Look for Mo, highly recommended!!!

The only reason I brought it to Mo’ in the first place is because he helped me a long time ago with a prior vehicle in which the underskirt of my car had come loose and he bolted it back in at no charge. I believe in taking business back to good people.
However, I can’t even begin to tell you how unprofessional I learned this place was once I actually had a paint job done through my insurance company for key marks on my car. Yup, my car was keyed in the parking lot of my workplace at the time, and since I don’t have any crazy ex-​girlfriends, angry women’s-boyfriends after me, or other current enemies; it was either an angry customer, or just some random prick who decided to create a masterpiece of random small scratches on several different panels of my car.
While my car sat at Mo’s, I explained to Mo’ before having the work done that there was a pre-​existing scratch on the same panel as the one that was covered by my insurance company AND that I’d MADE THE ADJUSTER aware of this upon my insurance company’s inspection of the damage. Mo’ acknowledges this, and unbeknownst to me, starts some of the work on prepping my car for paint without ever even having gotten approval from my insurance company.
I don’t know if it was because I’d said this or not, however, upon reporting this to the ESURANCE (which I’d had for years and NOW highly DO NOT RECOMMEND) adjuster, he reported back to esurance that his conclusion was that some of the damage was pre-​existing, and hence, an «investigation» was opened in an attempt to verify if the new damage next to it was conjured by the policy holder (ME)!
ESURANCE called me, asked for all the details of how it happened in a phone recorded statement, and finally concluded the damage was created by another party.
TRUST ME, HAD I BEEN TRYING TO COMMIT FRAUD WITH ESURANCE, I WOULDN’T BE ADVERTISING THIS STORY IN MY Unilocal FOLLOW-​UP REVIEW!!!
While esurance was finally releasing my claim’s approval, there was virtually no follow up or calls made to me regarding any communication with my insurance company by Mo’. My vehicle just sat in the shop and I kept having to call and ask what was going on with the repair status. Supposedly, Mo’ was never available and I was always told he’d call me back which never happened.
When I finally called and got ahold of Mo’, considering all the crap esurance had made me go through to approve my claim, I asked Mo’ if he could let me know when he got the approval from esurance that they were to fax him, and if it was to cover painting the whole panel where the existing and pre-​existing scratches had been, or if they went cheap and only approved for touching it up which would have definitely NOT paint-​matched.
Mo’s response? «Bro, I don’t know what kind of scam you’re trying to pull with all this, but I don’t even want to be involved in it. First you tell me that you have pre-​existing scratches that you want to try and get your insurance company to cover as part of the new damage, and then they call me to ask me to hold off on repairs because of this investigation you told me about. Bro, just take your car somewhere else because I don’t want to be involved in your scam»
This is the point where I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. I explained very clearly to Mo’ what I’d already explained to the adjuster about the panel with both pre-​existing and new damage, however, Mo’s response was suddenly that of «selective memory». When you know you’re not a criminal, you’re not lying, and you’ve done nothing wrong, you wonder why your car gets keyed, your insurance company gives you shit, and now Mo’ who you thought was such a nice guy at first, insults you after giving you the shittiest customer service.
I actually had to call my insurance company and explain to them that due to their investigation and my making them and Mo’ aware of the pre-​existing scratches along with new damage to the same panel, that he was accusing me of attempting to commit fraud.
My claim’s manager had to call him and stated that the investigation was standard when there aren’t any witnesses as to who created the damage, and that the claim was approved.
Mo’ never apologies to me, and contacts me, stating that it would be «tough to get the job done with the budget the insurance company had finally approved, but that he SHOULD be able to get it done».What does that even mean? Does that mean he might do a half-​ass job? Actually, yes, this is exactly what this meant. When I picked up the final product of what he had done, HE’D PAINTED DAMAGED PANELS IN-​PLACE, WITHOUT REMOVING THEM!!!
The bottom line that I got from all this was that I don’t own a high end car and I’m not paying out of pocket, so I was low on the priority and quality list, and Mo’ responded to his mass paranoia very vocally and unprofessionally towards me. If he had doubts and suspicions about me, he should have voiced them directly to my claims adjuster to allow the insurance company to handle any suspected fraud.

Went in to change my fog light and get a oil change… Great price and super fast… I will definitely be back again. And I will definitely tell my friends

There is a reason why each of The Shop Automotive’s customers have provided Mo with a 5* rating– he. and is team are truly exceptional!
I was in a fairly major fender bender which basically required my entire front end to be replaced. Not having been in an accident before, I had no clue where to send my car when the tow truck driver arrived. I took my chances on a recommendation (The Shop’s stellar business card and legitimate website also helped in the decision-​making process), and I felt more than satisfied with the end results. My car was towed to Mo on a Friday morning and I had to move to Las Vegas the next day. This meant I truly had to trust Mo and his team as I would be located in the adjacent state during the repairs.
Liz, the office receptionist, was very courteous and helpful each time I called; Eric, the office manager, was always aware of the current status of my vehicle and easily answered my questions; and Mo, the owner, offered top notch customer service by covering my extended rental and returning the car, offering to have my car delivered to LV for me (wow), and providing me with what felt like a brand new car. Mo had my Sportage detailed, buffed, and in excellent condition. He even installed LED headlights, which was above and beyond what was expected (these were an upgrade when I purchased the car from Kia).
Overall, The Shop as a team worked very well together and offered honest and reliable service. There was no hidden agenda or costs. I made no sacrifices and felt like I came out with more than I put in. I highly recommend Mo and his team if you are in the LA area.
Considerations: It can be difficult to leave messages as The Shop does not have a working voicemail. They have an email address, but I did not receive a reply. Mo ensured me they are working on having vm and email up and running very soon!

Great place. Moe really helped me out. I needed the get the suspension on my car changed and he was able to accommodate my schedule no problem. Their work was great and their service top notch. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommended the shop. Great place to get work done on your car

I went there to repair my toyota Camry after it was hit. I had estimates for repair from three other shops. These guys were 75 percent cheaper than everyone else and it took half the time. They had my car done the paint matched perfectly and there was no bs charges on the bill. Will Definately come back here

This place is great. I dropped my Audi off early morning to have my calipers painted. The Shop had it ready by end of day. Speak to Bonnie. Very helpful. Reasonable rates.

Moe is the man! I randomly came across this place by seeing a couple of their cars on the street in my neighborhood. Im sure glad I did. These guys do top not work. They turned my new car into a show stopper just using paint. I will definitely be bringing my camaro to them to fix a couple of small issues. Next time you are in the area, please stop by. You will definitely see some nice rides in their lot.

Got rear ended over the xmas holiday. Took my BMW 335 here. Very high quality work and customer service. Everything lined up perfectly and Moe and his staff are awesome. Gave me a ride to the rental car company and even detailed my car inside and out! Will definitely come back for any future work.

Excellent work. They wrapped my car and it came out clean. They also gave me powder coated black wheels at an excellent price. Thanks to the staff for always answering questions.

Got my whole car repainted and Im very happy i brought it to Moe… thank you for always updating me with the status of the car even though i know you guys are busy and always making sure everything is taken care off… I highly recommend THE SHOP!
