It’s alright. You’re definitely not paying for the food. The market is super quaint and the backyard patio is beautiful but for $ 10 I want a really good salad. I ordered a raspberry and goat cheese salad and checked a couple of extra boxes for additional veggies. The salad came without them and it was too busy to speak with anyone about getting them put on. My friend ordered and paid for the avacado and also didn’t receive it. Its a cute place and the food was good but in my opinion not worth the prices.

Pretty cool little neighborhood spot I’d have to say. Came here after climbing the stairs in Culver City and was pleasantly surprised. They have menu cards for you to fill out your order of what you want. Went with the BBQ Brisket Panini and side of Chicken Tortilla Soup w/Sourdough Baguette. Picked out a couple drinks some chips and waited for our sammich. Wait wasn’t too long about 5 – 10 minutes, seemed like they had a little after school crowd at that time. Brought our lunch to the patio, where it looks like it could be your very own backyard with chairs and benches all around. There’s also a koi pond and a fireplace with some decorative lights for nightfall. Pretty laid back patio where you could see yourself grabbing some food and a couple cold ones(which they sell at the market as well) and relax by the fire. Don’t live in the area but definitely a place to bring some friends to hang out and have lunch the next time the opportunity presents itself.

4.5 stars. Been here twice and had a very good experience both times. They have great salads and sandwiches. You order by taking a slip of paper, one is for sandwiches the other for salads. Grab a pen from the jar and leave your order on the counter. This time I got a a peppered turkey on a french roll with, romaine, tomato, olives and avocado. They are generous with the extras. They use boars head meats as well. Have not tried a salad yet, but they are huge. A cool little market as well. They sell chips, cookies, cigs, coffee(the good stuff Peet’s) and loads of bottled drinks. They have a few tables out front, a few to either side of the door as you enter. But in the back they have a chill little patio with a fountain and coy pond. It can take a bit to get your food, sometimes 15 or 20 minutes as they do quite a bit of business and they typically have 4 or 5 working the kitchen. Staff is very friendly. Easy street parking in a quaint little neighborhood. They also have a nice, clean bathroom.

This place was pretty cool! The sandwich I got was pretty good, although it took a while to get it. Lots of fresh options and they have a good mini market style selection of other foods. Its in a cool spot tucked into a neighborhood!

This place is a hidden gem! It’s a small establishment, so it does take some time to get your order, but it’s well worth the wait. If you’re in a rush, go to subway. If you want a quality sandwich, this is the place to be. I always get turkey, bacon($ 2 extra), and avocado($ 1 extra) which brings the total to $ 12.99. Typically I would hesitate to spend so much on a sandwich, but with generous portions of both bacon and avocado, it’s definitely worth the price.

This place is the best. The neighborhood is so adorable and very lush. Inside they can make you any type of delicious sandwich you want and also have a great selection of classics on the menu. They grocery selection is wonderful and the wine/beer selection is good. Definitely go see the back patio, it is lovely.

Ok taste. Very slow service. It takes an average of 35 min to tell you they ran out of baguette. And another 15min to make it with another bread They are always slow. I can cook a Persian stew in the time they take to make a sandwich. The place is over priced probably because they can not that they have a special recipe. The back yard is full of flies and nobody cleans or takes care of the tables. Maybe if I read a review that they have gotten faster I can try them again but until then they can practice a bit more and hopefully they will get faster!

The food taste very fresh! Easy to order with nice little order forms no need to yell your order across the counter. Bad thing about it is the cookie counter had a fly in the case. Deff not a good look

We were craving something on the healthier side in Culver City and stumbled upon this hidden gem. Although the food was more on the pricey-mediocre side, the place had a real charm to it . We ordered the BBQ beef brisket panini($ 9.99) and the strawberry lemonade salad($ 10.49). With a Unilocal check-in, we were able to bring down our bill 10% off(as long as you spent $ 20 or more). The panini was pretty flavorful with bbq sauce drenched over a lot of soft brisket meat melted on pepper-jack cheese and caramelized onions on toasted ciabatta. The sauce was tasty, but hopefully you aren’t dressed too nice since it can get messy! Or just be prepared with lots of napkins to hopefully avoid any outfit mishaps. The salad was a little more of a disappointment, but that may be due to personal preference as I felt it contained more fruit then veggies. It had a mix of baby spinach, chicken, feta, tomatoes, cucumber, and strawberries and drizzled with olive oil and fresh squeezed lemon. The dressing was a little too tangy for my taste; maybe next time I’d ask for it on the side. The ambiance is what really stood out for me. You order your food within a little market, so you can always pick up a bag of chips or wine on the side while you’re there. You have the option of eating out in the back patio, which has a rustic, intimate feel to it. We were there for dinner, so it was pretty empty at the time, but still nice. It had tables set up with garden plants, cute signs hung up, and a water fountain. The set up felt very comfortable and not pretentious at all, which I really liked. Definitely would want to check out this place again. Maybe see the vibe during lunch hours and try something new.

Adorable… Simply adorable. Located in the middle of a residential block — literally, right smack in the middle of the block. If you’re not paying attention, you might just miss it. Basically, a former residential plot that was rezoned and is now a cheek-pinchingly cute cottage-style shop. These hand-working folks are open from 7am to 9pm. That’s a long freakin’ day. And I applaud them for that. Additionally, they are a genuine neighborhood market — They have canned goods, dry staples, beer, wine, soda, pre-made salads, snacks & sides. They sell fresh baguettes made at the Normandie Bakery(my bitter enemy) which they also use for their sandwiches. Local place supporting a local biz? Aaaaaahhhh, the synergy smells delicious. :) Sandwiches tend to be a little light on the meat, which kinda irks me considering most of the sandwiches start at around $ 10, before extras like avocado, bacon, and«extra meat»(a notion which makes me scratch my head). I don’t understand how a place that sells deli meat, possesses a deli-slicer, and makes sandwiches to order can’t manage to hook up a bit more meat on the sandwiches. And after reading through many reviews, it seems I’m not the only person who has mentioned this meat shortage in their sandwiches. There are a couple tables out front, which allow for some people watching and that Euro-dining feel, as well as an outdoor patio in the rear.(**9.24.15 There is some construction going on that is making the patio less-than-awesome, but you just wait… Their patio and fountains are the perfect place to enjoy a coffee and a snack.) You can also call your order in or order online and save yourself a bit of a wait, especially during lunch hour. Healthy and fresh? Yes. Adorable neighborhood business that I can’t help but support? Yes. I’ll be back, again and again. And, hopefully, the owners will start telling their sandwich-makers to step it up with the meat. Until then, the draw will simply be the cute market and tossing some coin to local biz, as many other places provide heartier sandwiches at competitive prices.

I really love the location of this place — straight up residential area. What I didn’t love so much, were the sizes of their sandwiches. For the prices they charge, I would have expected them to be a little bigger or to come with a side at least. I tried both the BBQ Beef Brisket Panini and the Reuben(corned beef brisket). I know the BBQ Beef Brisket is one of their most popular ones, but I actually enjoyed the Reuben much more!

How adorbs is this place?! Hidden between a quiet neighborhood, you would NEVER think there is a secret oasis here… but there is. My favorite is the the back patio. Hosted my daughters first birthday here … GREAT service & catering options. Everything went super smooth and the guests of about 50 had an amazing time =) Favorites on the Menu include: –Caprese Sandwich(Vegetarian) Fresh Mozzarella, Basil, and Roma tomato on lightly toasted Sourdough with Pesto and Garlic-infused Olive Oil and Balsamic. $ 9.49 –Ponce De Leon Wrap Spinach Wrap filled with Oven Roasted Turkey, Baby Spinach, Cranberries, Avocado, and Balsamic Vinaigrette. $ 9.49 –Fatoush Salad Mediterranean salad with Romaine, Persian Cucumber, Roma Tomato, Radish, Red Onion, Parsley and our Lemon Garlic Mint dressing tossed with crunchy pita chips. $ 9.99 –And any of the deli meats & cheeses for you to purchase by the pound Inside scoop: They have recently purchased the space next door… and they are renovating to create a wine bar. There is a path from the back patio … can’t wait!

Great local spot for sandwiches and salads. They also have a great selection of white wines and a cute garden in the back where you can enjoy your snack/meal. I like to order a caprese sandwich, but I add chicken to balance out the saltiness from the pesto. My boyfriend loves the Italian sub. I love this place!

How cool is this market, one of the last existing neighborhood markets. Apparently, unless they get grandfathered-in, if the family ever sells it can no longer be a market. I stop here for a quick=pic and an ice cream from time to time. They make greeeaaat sandwiches, and they have a decent selection of wine. A few rickety tables in front, nice to stop for a few under the trees. A real neighborhood gem.

I’m giving 4 stars, because I have a gut feeling that our experience today was an anomaly for Jackson Market patrons. What a great concept to have a market/deli in a residential area. This mentally took me out of LA and put me back in quaint New England for a moment. Unfortunately, that moment took FOREVER. We waited nearly 35 minutes for our 2 sandwiches. We ordered 1 breakfast sandwich(like a scramble on bread), which was very good but would have been better if they didn’t forget to add to avocado. I realize I could have asked, but I risked throwing a tantrum if I had to wait any longer. We also ordered an Italian sandwich(my fiancé is a connoisseur of Italian sandwiches and lives on the hunt for the best one ever). After waiting that 30 minutes, we got called to the checkout to pay and they had forgotten to make it. NOOOO! He reports that it was good, bread was slightly stale, but certainly no Bay Cities in Santa Monica. The back patio is so cute and perfect for a daytime date. The seating is a little dirty though and I think a general spring cleaning would do Jackson Market well. The breakfast order forms weren’t put out and since the breakfast menu isn’t posted on the wall either, this was not ideal for first time guests. The staff were too preoccupied to feel helpful to us. As we walked out, we overheard one lady remark to another gentleman in line, «In all the years I have been coming here, I have never waited this long.» If that is in fact true, then 4 stars. If that is false, then 2 stars.

A total hidden gem in Culver City! I was craving something healthier, like a salad, so I Unilocaled a place and Jackson Market came up. We parked a few blocks away since we didn’t know what the parking situation was going to be like and started walking in a residential area. At first, I thought my GPS was playing a prank on me because it told me to walk into a totally residential neighborhood. But, we trusted it and started walking. After a bunch of houses, there was a market that looked like a house converted into a local market. It was super cute inside and they sell drinks, cookies, chips, etc. We came near closing time so there was no one else there. They have a fixed sandwich/salad or you can order how you like. We wanted to try the BBQ brisket panini, but they stated that they ran out. Boo! So, we ended up ordering the Reuben sandwich and make it yourself deli salad. I was not a huge fan of the Reuben sandwich(I have been spoiled by Brent’s deli, so I have a high expectations for any Reuben sandwich). I thought it was a little dry. I did love the salad. All the ingredients were super fresh and the turkey we had on our salad was excellent. Plus, it was only about $ 10 for a huge salad. I definitely want to come back here to try the BBQ brisket panini next time. There was plenty of parking on the street, so next time I will park nearer to the market. There is also seating outside and inside. I believe there is a pretty big patio seating, but I did not get to see it.

Even though I have a bunch of other places that I have yet to review, this place is perfect for my 200th review! A couple friends and I made plans to have a late lunch, but we never chose a place. I searched«light lunch» on Unilocal and found Jackson Market. I don’t know what drew me to the leafy sandwich profile photo, but I’m happy I clicked on it. The place is in a residential area so the little market blends right into the homes. However, once you’re inside it is a treasure trove of goodies! You can build your own sandwiches with various types of breads, meats, cheeses, veggies and condiments. There are salads(e.g. potato, macaroni, fruit, etc.) desserts, chips, some produce, treats and a wall of wine and wall of sodas. Now that I think about it, I don’t know how they house all these goodies into a little space. To make things even better there is a little patio outside and and AMAZING one in the back complete with tables & chairs, lights strung up in the tree, and waterfall that flows into a pond that is home to koi. SOCUTE. This place definitely has the ambiance that would be great for a casual first date/meet up. We will definitely be back. Parking: 2 hour street parking(be aware of street cleaning signs!)

Super cute place! Been wanting to come here ever since my friends who also live in the are told me about it. Came here for lunch on a nice and sunny Saturday morning after running a few laps at Baldwin Hills Overlook. It’s located in a residential area so its really cute and quiet. FOOD: — Salsalito wrap — yummy! The flavor combo of the turkey, black beans, red onions and avocado was great! Super refreshing and delicious on that sun dried tomato tortilla! — Italian sub — this was also very yummy, the combo of deli meats and cheeses were very very good. I just wish the baguette bread was easier to bite through(maybe if they had toasted it) — carrot cake — I liked the cake itself, but the frosting was sooooo sweet! Didn’t taste like cream cheese at all :) SERVICE: Friendly! You order off this little paper and drop it off. We wandered around until our sandwiches were ready and then we paid. VENUE/PARKING: It is a market so they sell everything from deli meats and cheeses, ice cream, alcohol, chips and snacks, and all sorts of beverages. There’s a really cute front patio, a couple of small tables inside and a GREAT back patio area! Plenty of tables in the back, although it can be a little dusty and the trees may drop things into your food, but very cute and relaxing :) Parking was easy enough in the neighborhood, 2 hours max.

Disorganized. So crowded at lunchtime it gave me PTSD. There’s a confusing protocol to placing your order. Their counters are not for short people. A solid wall of hipsters the length of the building. It’s doing way too many things: a market/grocery, + restaurant, + dessert bar, + man standing at a pop up table offering free olive oil tastings… a haberdashery of fast food. I save the worst for last: the sandwiches/wraps are pre-made and chilled until you order one. I ordered the wrap with«Jackson» in the name. It was ready 5 minutes later, still cold from the fridge they grabbed it out of. It tasted a little dry, but fine, and actually similar to the spinach wraps I throw together for myself at home occasionally. Yes the back patio is so cute I want to make babies all over the furniture. But if you’re feeding me yesterday’s sandwich and your customers all look like tweakers I can’t be bothered with this.
