Love everything they have. The better cheddar is amazing and they make their flat bread daily. They have daily specials and a variety of panini and sandwiches to choose from. If you want to create a personal gift basket full of European goodies, this is the place to go! They have sauces and spices that are not available in your regular grocery stores.

Best brick oven pizza ever. And, only $ 5 on Mondays. Great, attentive staff. Fun place with outdoor dining available.

A great little gem in downtown Culpeper, Va! The staff was warm and welcoming as soon as we stepped in the door. They gave us the lay of the land with ordering and what was offered. The food was tremendous! I had a creamy coconut chicken served over rice. It was as advertised with huge pieces of chicken in a creamy coconut curry. My wife had a roast beef dish that was great, too. The meat was tender and delicious. We chose to eat outside in the alley which is a cool little space. The staff served us and came by to chat several times. They were friendly, knowledgeable about their food(my wife has food allergies) and so willing to accommodate. The food and staff made this meal a wonderful experience! We will definitely be back soon!

Great food, great atmosphere, and I absolutely loved going here. However, the last two times friendly service was lacking, very disappointing.

Love the pizza! Toppings are superb and different which I like. Definitely a good choice for people who like more trendy styles of food. Mac and cheese is great, burgers are tasty, and like the outside seating area. Great salad variety also.

Relisted review from my visit on the afternoon of Saturday, June 14, 2014. This location seems to be the sister location to «It’s About Thyme» restaurant… as seen by the reply I received from Bonnie C.(see below) «It’s About Thyme» «I have a feeling that you were not dining at the „It’s About Thyme“ restaurant, as they do not have ANY refrigerated display cases whatsoever. However, their sister spot next door, which is the „It’s About Thyme Market“ DOES have refrigerated display cases, as it’s more of a „dining/deli“ setup. The „Market“ has it’s own separate listing here on Unilocal.» My original review: Saturday, June 14, 2014 I MUSTHAVEBEENREALLYHUNGRY! Because I ate all. The food is pre-made in a refrigerated display case(which typically makes me suspicious). The only suckling thing about the suckling pig is that it sucked. It’s was DRY&TASTELESS, which required dipping into the tomato(salty) bisk soup. A dollop of miracle whip would not have saved it, but no worries, no condiments were offered, let alone a menu which the next group managed to procure. Our waiter was not forthcoming with assistance or available entrees. There certainly was nothing Mediterranean about the lamb as it was«b-a-a-a-d». I really hope that their sister restaurant«It’s About Thyme» is a better establishment.

This place is incredible. Local everything, and it’s all fresh. They have everything from coffee to pork sandwiches that they will literally shave off of the pig in front of you. I want to spend all of my time in here.

Dee J, below, had a nasty review for the Market, saying that the servers were unpleasant, and claiming that a «local friend» said they were always obnoxious and curt. What nonsense! I’ve been there several times and the servers have always been pleasant, very helpful, quick to acknowledge customers’ needs, and properly attentive, and the owner has always been very gracious. The food has always been very good, and I enjoy looking at all the different things they offer. Perhaps Dee tried some maneuver to get a free meal and wasn’t successful, or perhaps«Dee» is a discarded suitor. The awful place«Dee» is describing isn’t the Thyme Market and is a clear mirror of Dee’s problems, not those of a nice little restaurant.

I had a wonderful Saturday browsing the shops in downtown Culpeper and decided to make my last stop Thyme Market and it was the worse idea. The staff was unfriendly and seem to want to rush us out of the store. I made an inquiry about products and the server said«I never tried it» and did not care to assist me at all. I left there feeling strange and then my friends who live in the area told me that that is how the staff and owner behave all the time — obnoxious and curt. My friend told me that when she goes into the store the owner follows her around like she thinks she is going to steal something. It is a sharp contrast to the rest of the shopping strip. Don’t waste your time here. Go to the shop Taste and experience wonderful service and yummy exotic olive oils and Vinegar. Frenchmen’s Quarter is also a wonderful experience. Pretty much all the shops are great but Thyme Market is amateur hour and needs to take some lessons from their neighbors in customers service and politeness. They don’t welcome certain types of people if you know what I mean. Or maybe it is that certain

An eclectic adventure for the mouth. From excellent presentation, to friendly staff, to a myriad of tastes and smells, this place has it all. This is a place that greats you will smells, colors, and a lot of things to take in when you open the door. After walking up to the deli bar and placing your order, you can go into the alley if weather and preference permit. The food is heavenly and worth the short time and medium price you pay for it. It is owned(or so I heard) by the same guy as Fogli’s down the street(an extreme recommend if you are a foodie and willing to spend a little more time). Take time to visit the shops in the area if you have time and like browsing, this is a nice casual place to stop for a bite to eat.

I love the woodfired pizza, especially on Monday when it’s only $ 5. The service is always spot on and most of the food is fresh. Been coming here as long as its been open and have had only 1 or 2 minor issues, which the staff has eagerly and in an excellent manner resolved. I leave more than satisfied every time.

Outstanding. We went there Saturday afternoon, after the main restaurant closed. They served us house salad, delicious wood-fired pizza, and a fantastic lemon-blueberry torte with coffee. Our new favorite pizza.

My husband and I were passing through Culpeper and wanted to grab some dinner at a place with an outdoor patio. The patio of this place caught our eye. It’s in the alley of two buildings with outdoor lights strung between. The market was very nice and you can go in and order anything from behind the glass counter or order a custom pizza. They have several wines to choose from and if you want a great draft, you can order that as well.(They are connected to a bar next door.) Anyway, the staff was extremely helpful and nice and very accommodating. We had a great evening. I’m glad we stopped and gave this place a shot!

«better cheddar» spread! Love it, a bit pricy but a little goes a long way and I never go to Culpeper without stopping in and picking up a party tub. Add the flat bread and you will be hooked. I have tried to make the flatbread at home and still haven’t gotten the technique down… but still trying. Think it has something to do with the open fire it is cooked on. Yes, there is what looks like a open fire oven behind the counter. Fun! Many times we will eat at Thai Culpeper and then stop in here for a «to go» dessert. Some lovely pastries, cheescakes, crème brûlée’s…a nice ever changing assortment. Wide variety of gourmet foods, perpared foods and what not. Not your ordinary market and by no means a deli… it is it’s own unique entity. There is a parking lot behind the store, you walk up the incline and through the alleyway to the store.

Love their selection of fine foods. The Greek Salad is to die for. The friendly staff makes your time spent in the atmosphere refreshing. Wether you are eating there or having your meal to go they are very helpful with your selections. I like to order my food to go and take it to a local winery. This is the best menu for wine food. Don’t forget all the goodies in the back of the market. From meats to jellies. It’s a great touch of class right here in Culpeper.

Best focaccia bread to be found in town, and maybe to be found anywhere. I will drive from Richmond just to get this bread. The«better cheddar» cheese spread and flatbread are also a winning combination, I find myself craving that often. Overall, this is a nifty little prepared-foods shop that always smells divine and offers up insanely delectable treats.

In quaint Culpeper, Virginia, there are some rather attractive specialty shops(or should I say shoppes) and businesses. Thyme Market, a convenience-store of sorts, is next door to the very nice(but sadly closed when we were in the area on Monday) restaurant«It’s About Thyme». After our dinner up the road, we popped into Thyme Market for a post-dinner coffee to fuel us for the 1.5 hour drive back to the District. The reason the market is getting 3 stars instead of 2 is because this store offers a lot of great local flavor treats, including jams and pastries and cheeses, etc etc. They even have a glowing brick oven! Very nice, very authentic, and very fresh options. My complaint was with the coffee. A SMALL latte, plain and simple, nothing added, was $ 5.22. Yes. My man questioned, «What?! Is it made of gold?!»(in case you’re wondering, it wasn’t) Not bad coffee, but certainly not worth anywhere near the price. Kind of a shock for little ol’ Culpeper.
