Fantastic Sams Hair Salons

Being new to the area I had no idea where to even start looking for a haircut. Just gave this place a shot at random. Got an appt quickly when I needed. I also had my 3 young children with me. Came in and was met by Celeste who cut my hair just as I needed and even better than my previous stylist. The whole staff was as sweet as can be and Celeste was amazing. Plus, my cut was $ 10 over my previous salon experience in Herndon which was $ 100 and a huge disappointment.

I went with my mom to help her pick out a style. I think the cut that they provided my mom was excellent and on top of that, the prices were really reasonable.
So why only a 3 star review?
–First off, the lack of professionalism in the salon. There was drink cups, drink bottles, dirty towels and even FOOD at the various stations while people actually had customers in their chairs!
–Two, they need a receptionist. We had to stand there and wait and wait and wait until one of the stylists wasn’t busy so that she could help us.
–Three, while I said the person did an excellent job cutting my mom’s hair, they lacked confidence and were very unsure of themselves. When I saw this (before she cut my mom’s hair), I had to get up to speak to the stylist. We told the person that we liked the modernness of the style, that it was easy to maintain and that it fit the shape of my mom’s face. However, the stylist was really unsure of cutting off my mom’s hair cause she was going from medium to short. If you’re in the business of cutting hair, you have to have the confidence to cut hair. If you are unsure of yourself, that is going to make me very nervous to sit in your chair.
Plus, waiting area with a TV and a coffee machine. The staff asked if I was happy with what channel it was on.
Negative, the store is extremely cluttered. There is just a bunch of junk and crap all over the place. If they decluttered the place (for example getting rid of the candy machine, getting rid of the plants that are all over the place, getting rid of the excessive amount of signs some of which are blocking your eyeline, etc.), it would actually look pretty nice.

Its so difficult to find a stylist that you like but I got lucky when a coworker recommended Dana to me. Of course I was nervous going to a new salon and was worried about a bad haircut. From start to finish Dana was great. She actually spent more than 15 seconds on a consult with me and was very patient as I asked a ton of questions. I will go back again without a doubt.

Good prices for a great haircut. Very friendly staff & very clean! Tuesdays are half off men’s haircuts. I had my hair done here for my wedding (and my bridal party) and so did my sister. They were very accomodating! They let the photographers do their thing & had us all in & out in about an hour. Jeanette is the best for up-​dos! Since then, I’ve been a few times for haircuts and my friends go here also. Ask for Angela or Jeanette — they’re our favorites!
