To find a fast food place w/the feel of Baby Jim’s in this day & age(complete w/authentic retro signs) is rare and I love that! I wouldn’t ever change that! BUT(and it’s a major but), the quality of the food has gone downhill over the years. At the end of the day, you ultimately go to a place for the quality of food. The burgers aren’t what they once used to be. Can’t comment on the breakfast as its been ages since I’ve been there for breakfast. —- While I wouldn’t call their prices high per se, compared to what you can get at Wendy’s, McDonald’s or Burger King when on a budget, Baby Jim’s prices are significantly higher then those fast food joints. —- And it’s worth noting, the hours are still terrible. M-Sat. 430AM — 3PM. Don’t really have an issue w/them being closed on Sunday, but wish I could grab something from them later then 3PM. In the past, it might have worked, but times have changed and 3PM doesn’t cut it. At least 6PM would be a better solution or even better, 7PM.

Baby Jim’s Snacks – how can one resist such a name? After a double-take driving by seeing a sign that said«no loafing» I just had to do it, stop on in and see what this is all about. Divey burger joint, everyone that comes in speaks Virginia, they all know each other; everyone’s a regular here, including you. Sweet grannies running the place and make your burger as you like it. The value is evident in the cash-only operation. The quality of the food is just average but it’s made with some heart and soul and that makes all the difference.

Omg! My husband stopped here randomly on a road trip around VA and were so glad we found this place! We were starving and were in the mood for some cheeseburgers. It was cash only I believe and we both ordered cheeseburgers and the fries which came to an impressive $ 7! It’s been open for a very long time and I think the people working there probably have been working there since it opened. The service was a little slow and the lady working the counter didn’t take any crap from anyone. We didn’t care and didn’t expect much anyways, just wanted our food to go. Holy amaze balls! My husband and I looked at each other and said this is one of the best cheeseburgers we have ever had! Omg! The cheese was real cheese none of that Kraft singles crap, legit good cheese! The burgers were cooked perfectly at medium just how we like them! The fries were also amazing. If we’re ever back in Culpeper we will be back to eat more cheeseburgers from here!!!

Total dive – loved it. Basic fare – I had a chili cheese dog, fries and a chocolate shake. All were good – especially the fries. Hard to find places like this anymore…

PERFECT dive-y burger joint. Stumbled across it when getting my car looked at as I was driving through town. Burgers are less that $ 2 and perfect. It helps my über positive feelings about the place that when I asked if they took cash and they said no, the guy next to me insisted on paying for my burger. I was planning on just getting lunch elsewhere but he was so nice and persistent that I just relented, with a promise to pay it forward, and ordered one delicious $ 2 burger. It was like I had stumbled into a magical throw-back land of good honest food an good, honest people. Which, as far a I can tell, is exactly what happened.

I’ve been dying to try this place for YEARS… But since I work out of the area, work very late and am not a morning person… Kinda noonish 2pm sounds about right it’s always been a dream. Soooo when I found myself awake before 10 this morning I went for lunch. After reading over the boards I picked the double bacon cheese burger, fries(crinkle cut yum) and a 12oz coke :(. It’s a simple hamburger… Five guys level in taste but around the size of a Wendy’s jr burger. So I’d recommend 2 if you’re getting a regular burger. Really, really good. Crinkle cut fries which were a nice surprise but kinda over done on the salt but still good and one size. 12oz coke… Really… Really. Well I can’t complain to much cuz it was just enough for the meal but still 12ozs. Taking a star for the overly salty fries and for the soda cause in this day and age really 12ozs… Really. As for the restaurant it’s kinda like a food truck that’s a building. Park, go in, order at a counter window and wait… and wait… and wait… and wait… Which isn’t a bad thing if you’re chatty like me but you still lose another star cause of awkward standing around, silence and other people waiting for their food being crabby. Sidenote: outdoor benches is your only seating. All in all it was good food and a pleasant experience

A great old school burger joint. Back in to park, order the double cheese burger with a walk through the garden, fries and a chocolate shake, then sit at the picnic tables on the side and watch the traffic of Culpeper. An outstanding event!

I went for the first time not too long ago — stopped for breakfast & went back again for lunch! Best bacon egg & cheese I’ve ever had. Tried a chili dog for lunch — it was awesome. Prices are beyond reasonable, especially for the quality.

They’re good at what they do. Really good. Good fries, breakfast sandwiches, burgers, ice tea. Oh and a little tip when you park, back in, everyone will think you’re a local.

Baby Jim’s is a Culpeper original. It’s been around since 1947. One of my work colleagues recommended we stop here for lunch during a recent work visit to Culpeper. Be aware — Baby Jim’s closes promptly at 3:00 pm. We arrived about 2:40 pm or so — we both ordered Chili dogs with cheese and onions and a side of fries. The hot dog buns come out nice and moist — with that heated/steamed feel to them. I’m not sure what kind of dogs they were — but they are the old fashioned ones you’ve seen that have that bright red hue to them. The chili was thick and hearty. The crinkle cut french fries were thick — crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside — perfectly done! My only complaint was that the quantity of fries in the order was on the small end — although I could have eaten way more of these than is good or healthy for me! After the first dog — I went back for a second! There is no seating inside — there are tables outside. With signs advising no sitting on tops of the tables, no cell phone use inside, no cussing(if there is cussing there is no service! :-)) Great place! My work colleague says 4 out of 5 stars — I’m giving them a 5! While Baby Jim’s does not have a web site — they are prominently mentioned on :
