I loved everything about my visit here. From my pleasant phone experience making my appointments, to the friendly staff when we arrived. It was wonderful. The building is gorgeous, the inside is clean and professional, the technology within the clinic showed how up to date they are with everything. My exam was thorough and I felt like the staff truly cared about my needs. I was so impressed. Impressed until I was checking out. My husband and I both went in for eye exams since we now have vision insurance. I wear glasses and contacts, my husband has perfect vision, but we still wanted him to get a check up obviously. Our insurance co-pay for an exam is $ 10. No biggie. Well, when checking out, I saw a larger total than I expected. I was charged a contact lens fitting fee of $ 69! I was not warned about this when making the appointment, filling out my forms, etc. I really felt like this charge was excessive. I certainly am not a first time contact wearer that needed lessons or multiple contact trials. I walked in and knew exactly what brand I liked. I was told that it was slightly higher because I was a new patient and that when I come in next year, it should be a little lower, like $ 59. Still too high!!! I really wanted to avoid the«chain» eyeglass retailers, but we will be going back to them next year. For $ 99 at America’s Best, you can get three years of exams, which includes the fitting fees … and that’s without insurance! I’m really disappointed, since I loved everything else about this place! It’s just not $ 69 extra worth of love. I felt like that was shady and they lost my trust. Planning on $ 20 and paying $ 90 is NOT fair. Thank God my husband doesn’t wear contacts or we would’ve had a really big shock at check out time!!! We are definitely lost customers who would’ve been loyal and spread the word to our local friends.
