I though it was expensive for what we got. We were there on 06-13-2015. Staff was friendly and the place was moderately clean except for the cockroaches crawling around the mirror over the sink area, and no bathroom exhaust fan which gives you the gift that keeps on giving. At least they had the TV bolted to the table in front of the bed so low that you could not lay in bed to watch it without needing a chiropractor for your efforts. Crystal River as a town is depressed. Half of the businesses are vacant and very few customers in those that remain open. Wages are low, but housing is high as are the taxes. I was glad to leave…

Clean comfortable room that has a mini-fridge, a coffee maker, and a microwave. The staff is friendly and the breakfast buffet is good. The hotel has a nice pool area with gazebo. I will certainly stay here again.

«…at the hotel they opened up this area on the beach for nude bathing and all of the Sports Illustrated models went down there.» Kramer, Seinfeld Value & convenience, over quality. Decent«motel» experience, just under expectations in a couple of spots. Value is good: Rack rate is decent, add bereavement discount, daily breakfast(waffle station, sausage, coffee, fruit, juice, typical), heated pool, fridge, microwave, coffee maker & iron in room. Housekeeping was great, but be SURE to put out the«do not disturb sign until» you leave for the day or expect a «vigorous» knock @ 8:30am! Smack dab in the middle of things, didn’t do more than a 20 min drive for anything. Expected more: Room was«musty» had to get an air freshener and ran the AC on it the whole 1st day. In general the room was dated, would’ve been great if just cleaner — especially carpe; bring slippers, you don’t want to walk on it in bare feet. Shower drain was SLOW(wife’s pet peeve), not cool standing in your own soap scum.

First word coming to mind = OVERPRICED. I’ve stayed in more hotels/motels than I can count, and have a good grasp of fair value. There are few motels in the town of Crystal River, but this one is on the northern outskirts. I would say a little more than HALF rack rate would have been fairly priced. The housekeeping is very good, and everything was clean and polished. No evidence of bedbugs. Knowing all the angles, I «wand rooms» with a portable black light and only found ONE thing out of place. — Invisible to the eye was a large biological liquid stain in the carpet, and now I assume the cause as being«pet friendly»; this was small enough to cover with a hotel wash cloth so I could walk around without shoes. The other areas were well vacuumed and spotless. The motel offers a breakfast. I was looking forward to making some nice waffles, but arrived at 9:15 … breakfast only until 9 says the sign, and the front desk failed to mention that little detail at check-in. A nice attendant brought me bread for toasting, a cup of orange juice, and a couple small muffins … That was very nice of her. They all go to their real jobs after the 9AM clean up. Cleanup was easy, as only a handful of rooms were occupied that night. Funny, If I’d been there at 8, I may have met all the others. Lest I say … OVERPRICED, and I shall not pass this way again.
