L.A. Tan

I used the Versa Spa Spray Tan before and it was great! So I went back to use it on their $ 10 spray Monday. The girl told me the Versa is broken but the old machine does the same thing just different standing positions. So I agreed to do a level 2 color and paid $ 15. After having to put all my clothes back on to go ask for barrier cream and a hair net (which they didn’t have any) I proceeded with my spray. After I dry and wipe the cream off I look in the mirror and I’m in horror, my entire body and face is speckled with dark brown, and only going to get darker. I asked the girl if that machine is supposed to do that and will it blend as time goes on, she said no, she doesn’t know why it did that and will give me a free spray next time… Ugh but that doesn’t fix me having to work for 2 weeks with my entire body coveted in spots, also my brother is visiting and I haven’t seen him in 4 years, so thanks LA Tan for not only ruining my work week, but this visit with my brother. Shame on you for carrying a machine that sprays so horribly.

The place is dark, dreary, and dirty. I found used towels on the floor and the girl barely wiped down the bed prior to my tan. She was also rude, and acted like she couldn’t be bothered with me as a customer. I’ve been tanning for about 20 years at different companies throughout the United States during my travels. This is by far, the worst tanning salon I have ever experienced. Never again.

I love this place!!! If I could give it ten stars I would! They are always so helpful and prompt, I will never go anywhere else again!!! So great! Thanks girls!!!

I use this place mainly because it’s close to home. The girls who work here are not professional at all. I understand it’s it’s a tanning salon, but being a professional myself I’d expect the same from any business. I would like to add that this place is so dirty. They REALLY need to step it up on their cleanliness.

I’m reluctant to even give this place three stars because of how frustrating my experiences here have been. But, I’ll give them the benefit and hope they improve. I first came here last summer and signed up for spray tan packages. The spray tans here weren’t good at all leaving uneven blotches all over me. I believe they blamed it on the new spray tanners they got, but after a few tries, I went back to using St. Tropez. I started coming back here this January to get a base tan for a trip. The girls are nice and friendly, but maybe too busy. Maybe they need more people working there. No one showed me how to start the last two beds I used. The first one was fine, but in the second bed I ended up pressing the wrong button which resulted in a 20 minute delay while the girl reset the bed. A simple instruction would have prevented this. And, I’m not new to tanning. I used to tan all the time at other salons before getting concerned about my skin. I loved the LA Tan in Tinley Park and went there for years. The Dekalb one sucked and I went elsewhere while in Dekalb. Another issue with my last bed here– the glass was taped. I guess it was cracked and they taped it together? Geez. The monthly packages seem a little expensive for the quality of beds you get. Next time I’d shop around and go elsewhere.
