Good experience with a furnace replacement. Quote very competitive. Nick was a pleasure to deal with — very patient with questions and explaining details.
The installation guys went the extra mile, professionally rebuilding an old, sloppy «weekend warrior» humidifier installation even though it wasn’t part of the bid.
Very satisfied with the result. Recommended.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company!

I used Ace in June of 2014. They installed a hot water heated a April Air 700 humidifier. The problem was with the humidifier. When we turned on the heat in the Fall it worked for a while then stopped working. I called ace and they sent over a repair person. He did not know Ace did the installation. He immediately said the humidifier was installed wrong. I then said well it was purchased and installed by ace. His jaw dropped and said the controls were not set correctly. I said I set them according to the instructions in the manual. He increased the setting on the humidifier and it started to work. He then handed me a bill for $ 79.00. I had a fit. He left and said he had to bill me a service call because everything worked. He left. I called April Air and they told then about the installation and they in fact said it was installed wrong and the humidifier should have been installed lower and the humidity controls should be at least 6 to 12 inches above the humidifier and to compensate I would have to turn the controls up higher than the manual called for, but they suggested that it should be reinstalled to work properly. I called Ace (Nick) and he argued with me and said he would not give me a refund for the service call and would not fix the installation. Now I paid good money for the unit and it is not working properly.
I feel one of their repairmen admitted it was installed wrong and took a picture of what was done and Nick saw the picture and made excuses why he could not take care of the problem and than told me not to call again. Those of you that gave them a good review, I hope you don’t have a problem with their work and expect them to make it right.

Great company and Nick was amazing. I had him service my furnace in the past and I can tell you that he is honest, helpful, and does great work. I added his company as a contact under HVAC Repair because I wouldnt use anyone else.

Let me tell you that Nick, the owner at Ace Heating is just awesome! I’ve owned a house for 3 years now and Ace has unquestionably the best home repair find since we’ve lived in Buffalo Grove.
In our second summer living here our A/​C compressor went out and Nick came out and met my wife. She said he was super nice and very helpful. He gave us an amazing deal on a solid A/​C unit and his guys came out and put it in within an hour or two and took away the old one.
In our third winter in BG, the fan motor in our furnace started to go out. He had actually come out for the tune-​up earlier in the fall (I called Four Seasons for the tune-​up quote and ACE was literally half the price and I guarantee you, for better service) and we knew there was an issue with the fan motor, but since we were trying to avoid dropping the 2k on a new furnace he rigged it for me so it would last a little longer. He told me that he believed he had a used motor that he could just give me so we could put off buying the new furnace if the motor actually ever burned out.
About a month or two later, the fan was done. I called ACE and they were out the next day. Nick came out and took a look at the furnace and agreed that the motor was just about done (our furnace was over 20 years old). He didn’t have any used one’s around, but said he could get me one for $ 200. Aaron and Trecker had quoted me $ 500 two winters earlier for the same part. He also gave me the option of a furnace that another customer decided not to take. He had to move it and gave it to us at literally 40 percent off. Nick understood our tight financial situation and we were helping him move the furnace and he was helping us since we didn’t have a ton of money to spend on a furnace. He also installed a brand new humidifier at 50 percent off.
And not to be dismissed were the two guys he sent out to install the furnace. They were amazing! It took them about six hours because of our funky closet area and lack of room in the closet area. They were ingenious in a number of ways while coming up with ideas to reduce the heat causing problems for the humidifier, which caused the old humidifier to crack. Just great service!
I’ve also called him out to quote me for installing a natural gas line for my Ducane grill. His quote of $ 150 was 200 less than the other 3 quotes I got.
Short story long, Nick and the guys at ACE have been amazing since we found them. I will use NO ONE else for my HVAC needs. He’s also a hockey guy, so thumbs up in my book as I too am a hockey guy. Go Hawks!!!
