I took my mom here and we loved it. We both had the Veggie Calzone and it was very good. I loved the historic feel. Must come and try it. Our waitress was wonderful and kept us taken care of.

Had a late lunch here. The bartender makes a perfect Hendricks Gin Martini! I was impressed that they had Hendricks, my favorite Gin. The service was attentive, food served in a timely manner. I had a House Salad and a Calzone. The food was delicious. However, I think charging two dollars per additional toppings/filling is a bit much. First and last eighteen dollar Calzone ever! it was good, but not THAT good!

Got Crozet Pizza our first night in our new place in Crozet. The sausage pizza is out of this world with a heavy helping of toppings. It is a little pricey, but you definitely get a generous serving.

Since the addition to Crozet Pizza was opened, the atmosphere has changed. No longer is it a quiet pizza place, but a noisy, almost obnoxious, sports bar. The last two visits entailed: a rude bar tender(mouthly, argumentative, condescending attitude(misguided dark beer beliefs)), a new understanding of how the basil topping is put on pizza(too little, then put it on yourself) Sorry to say that the little hippie pizza place has lost its uniqueness… and is now a run of the mill pizza restaurant. There are other choices in the area.

This is great pizza. The service was great. They made me a margarita on the rocks that was very good. We had hummus for an appetizer and it was great. We will have to come back one day.

Great place, friendly service, nice atmosphere, great beer selections and the pizza is fantastic. Any Yankees in the area: don’t be expecting NY pizza.

Fun, family friendly restaurant. The pizza is a bit pricey(I mean it’s pizza) but it’s good. I highly recommend their salads with a pie.

Pizza arrived at the table piping hot. Crust was soft and chewy. Toppings, cheese and garlic one pie, peppers and pineapple on another were fresh and flavorful. Meathead calzone was partly crispy on the outside, with plenty of ricotta and mozzarella cheese, pepperoni and sausage inside. Drinks ranged from craft brews to a very tasty Dark and Stormy. Worth the drive.

Shared a Capone pizza with a friend, it’s near perfect. Great pizza, great beer selection, and bread service.

Terrible experience! I love little dive-y places and this one fit the bill but turned out horrible. Very loud which is fine but too many people all over you! Server was very sweet but had no clue as to opening a bottle of wine. Big problem was that my wife and I ordered hummus as an app and pizza for dinner. After 40+ minutes, we received our hummus followed by a dry, burnt, unappealing pizza. I’m sure that the server sensed our issues with having to wait so long because she kept peaking at the table but wouldn’t approach as I think she was embarrassed by our wait and then poor quality food. Huge waste of $ 70 for a bottle of wine, crappy medium pizza, and hummus. On the bright side, the hummus was huge and very good!

We had the meat lovers pizza and it lived up to its name! Not too heavy on any one topping and generous on all of them. The crust was amazing, not too thin, not too thick, and perfectly crisped on the bottom and soft on the inside. Also, the fact that the ingredients are organic or responsibly grown/raised makes a huge difference in taste from other places. Will definitely have to try the rest of the pies in the future. Even though it’s an hour from my home, is worth the drive. The atmosphere was very comfortable and the service was great. Not a drinker, but they looked to have a good selection at the bar. Not a place that is trying to overcompensate mediocre food with flashy ambience. In fact, their confidence in their food speaks for itself when it’s served on paper plates! Great job Crozet Pizza!

I first came here about 10 years ago as a kid when our family was camping in the area and desperate for a decent dinner. Little did we know at the time that we stumbled upon one of the best pizza places our family had ever been to(a claim I hold in high regard since our family originates in pizza-dense NY). The crust is thin, but not as thin as your typical Italian– NY style pizza. There’s enough there for you to truly appreciate it, but it teases you enough where you have to keep eating slice after slice to get more. That, coupled with the ingredients and seasonings used, make this a mandatory stop for anybody who is passing through the area, or even anyone looking for a scenic drive(the surrounding countryside is beautiful). Some of the details of this place make it pretty unique and give it a lot of character, such as the old license plates and business cards on the wall, along with the chalk-written menu. Come here!

I stopped in to order a large, 5 topping pizza. The pizza itself cost almost $ 30. The pizza was served on paper plates with our drinks served in plastic cups. And there was a extremely loud and obnoxious guy at the bar. After waiting 10 minutes for the waitress to bring a refill, I asked to speak to the manager. When he finally came over, guess who it was. Yup, you guessed it, the loudmouth from the bar! All in all, he wasn’t a bad guy but our experience there left a lot to be desired. Needless to say, I wouldn’t recommend this places nor will I ever go back.

After moving from Chicago, where we have both great deep dish and thin crust pizza, I have found that solid pizza is hard to come by in Charlottesville. On Saturday afternoon a month or so ago, my boyfriend and I kicked off a Saturday on the Brew Ridge Trail at Crozet Pizza. We arrive around 1pm, and were able to grab a table right away near the bar. The place is decorated with concert posters, which we really enjoyed. They have a decent beer selection, with several local brews, although I abstained because I was saving up for the other four breweries were we going to visit that day. I got on Unilocal to check out what was good, and a lot of Unilocalers mentioned the Food Network special, which is the White Mushroom Pie, which I really wanted to tie. But, my boyfriend is one of those weird mushroom haters – that probably should have a been a deal breaker, so we went with something different. We started off with a house-sized Mediterranean salad. The ingredients were fresh, and it was enough for two people to share a decent portion. For the pizza, we ordered a medium Buddhist pizza. It was AMAZING! The crust was nice and chewy, and the toppings were really tasty. Although Crozet is not just around the corner, I would definitely make the drive again for Crozet Pizza. I can honestly say that it is the BEST pizza in Charlottesville, so my quest is over! And next time, I’ll have to go with someone cool who actually likes mushrooms.

Loved the interior of this restaurant– all the walls covered in pictures, business cards, postcards, frames in it’s entirety. Very secluded, rustic American bar sort of feel. Hard to miss– with it’s giant white lettered name on the outside and bright red shop front. Loved the huge American flag on the outside. We got a booth and shared three rather large-sized pizzas between the five of us. So many flavours– we had a bit of difficulty deciding. Couldn’t have gone wrong though– made fresh to order, very warm and with yum toppings. On the list to do before you graduate for a reason– it’s the original Crozet pizza and it’s yum. It’s also a great space and neat little road trip out of Charlottesville. [Reliving my semester abroad at the University of Virginia]

My partner and I went to Crozet Pizza for lunch, and overall we felt that it was good pizza, but nothing that blew us away. We were in the Charlottesville area and we looked on the Food Network website to see if any shows have been filmed in the area — his was the only place, so we decided to check it out. Crozet Pizza is kind of in the middle of nowhere. It took a while to drive to through windy roads, but it is a very quaint and seemingly historic restaurant. There definitely are no-frills at Crozet Pizza, but that’s probably its charm. They have a good selection of local beers, and they clearly pride themselves on that. We are able to get a half-and-half pizza, and it certainly was tasty. It’s more of a deep dish kind of pizza than anything else. Clearly Crozet Pizza has been a part of the community for very long time — we sat next to the wall of pictures with Crozet Pizza T-shirts in Venice in 1990 and the North Pole in 1995, etc. It’s kind of interesting to see how rabid people are in there support for this eating institution. Overall, if you are looking for something outside of Charlottesville, Crozet Pizza is not a bad choice. It’s not mind blowing pizza or anything, but it is tasty and certainly off the beaten path.

Crozet Pizza was featured in Nat Geo’s ‘Best in the World’ and have other recognition. We were given a recommendation to check this place out in a small town called Crozet on our trip back home. It was opened back in 1977 when there were no other businesses around. The pizza is known to be hand-tossed and cooked in the same way as back when it was opened in the brick oven. We ordered a ‘House Favorite,’ the ‘Special’ — it had mushrooms, onions, green pepper, pepperoni, and sausage. When it came out, the crust was quite crispy, which was nice. However, the pizza itself seemed a bit bland. It did taste better after a couple of days, heating it up in the microwave, with a dash of Parmesean cheese and hot chili flakes — the cheese was nice and melty and stringier then. I am glad I got to check out a little piece of Crozet’s history, though. +underseasoned pizza
