Central Valley Koi

What a wonderful day we had at Central Valley Koi! We were delighted to meet Jim and view his massive selection of koi (all reasonably priced). There were so many fish to choose from — a potpourri of different sizes and colors. I would recommend Central Valley Koi to serious and casual collectors of koi. Jim is very knowledgeable and an excellent resource. His tanks and grounds were immaculately kept and we had no reservations about purchasing fish from his establishment. We are looking forward to a return trip soon — not only for more koi, but for koi food. Great outing — thanks Jim!

My husband and I went to Central Valley Koi today to get some koi fish for our new pond. We had a really great experience. We were greeted by the owner Jim who was very friendly and helpful. He answered all our questions as we are new to owning Koi. We definitely learned a thing or two. We were not rushed at all. He walked us around and let us see everything at our own pace. This Place has Koi, turtles, birds, guinea pigs, you name it Jim has it. It’s like a little backyard filled with koi gardens and other little animals, really a great concept.
Jim scooped out a bunch of fish when I found the ones I liked and let me take my time hand picking them. I bought five to start but I like them so much I will be going back soon to add some more to our pond. This place is definitely worth the drive.

If you are looking to purchase some Koi fish-​I would highly recommend taking a drive to visit Jim at CVK. My boys and I drove out from the East Bay to get some Koi today and had a wonderful time picking out four amazing looking Koi to put in our backyard pond. There must have been a dozen separate above ground pounds/​holding tanks to view the Koi in and select the size/​price/​color Koi we wanted. As cheep as $ 3, $ 5, $ 10, $ 15…the bigger the size the more you will likely pay. Bottom line-​this place beats any aquarium place you’ve ever been to. I will be back to buy more-​thanks for the nice visit today Jim.

You know that saying «HIDDEN GEM». Yeah. This place definitely fits that category.
I thought I had to drive far (to the bay area) just to see some nice koi places but what I didn’t realize was that there was one close to where I live.
I would have never found this place if I didn’t search it online. (It’s located in the rural area.) I was skeptic at first when I entered the place; the place didn’t look like your typical koi stores.
As we went back to where the ponds were located, I was shock at how beautiful the koi were. And what’s more suprising were the cheap price he offered them. (I’m talking about $ 3, $ 5, $ 10, $ 15, $ 20 and so on. (That’s pretty cheap for a great quality koi if you ask me!)
I’m giving every grading criteria a five star for this place. The customer service was excellent. I actually got to catch the fish and look at it upclose (without being rushed). I would say I was about there for 1.5 hours looking at the koi. I left the place knowing I got the fish I wanted.
The owner was very nice too. He talked to us the whole time and I will admit that I’ve learned about kois more than ever in just one visit.
I’m still amaze how cheap those kois were (the store is located at his own backyard and that is why he can sell them for cheaper prices). I know where I will buy my big kois now!
I’ll definitely come back again when I’m ready to buy more koi and goldfish. (The owner said that the new batch will arrive on April 2011.)
For those that are considering of buying or just even looking at koi (or goldfish, birds, or turtles), I recommend going here. IT’S A MUST.
