Golden Chick

There are lots of good chicken places in the metroplex, and Golden Chick is one of the places that consistently delivers.
Although my selection is limited to the chicken tenders and sides due to my dislike of chicken on the bone, I always enjoy my meal here. TIP: If you like a little kick in your chicken, ask for it spicy, and be prepared for your taste buds to cheer in delight.
Their sweet tea is comparable to my favorite sugar/​sweet tea joint, Chicken Express, which we all know is really diabetes in a cup. It’s so good!
The yeast rolls are always hot and yummy and its a shame they don’t give you two, but you can always purchase more.
All in all, a good spot to get your chicken tender fix. Oh and if you go in, you can get free soft serve!!! Winning!

I like golden chick a lot better than chicken express. The chicken tenders are pretty much the same as express but their fries are a whole lot better. They also have an option to make your tenders spicy which is what I got but it wasn’t spicy at all, which is fine. Wish there was one closer to me but I’ll definitely be back!

Wow! That’s all I can say about the food and service at this location. We really just stopped to use their restroom and order a small snack. We ended up getting more than we asked for and it was all nicely prepared.

Very slow drive though service. Waited 20 mins… 10 to take my order, 10 more at the window. Horrible experience for my first time stopping at Golden Chick. Finally got my food and went to my destination to eat it. Mash potatoes was the worst I have ever seen. Watery and runny. The chicken just didn’t have the right taste. Couldn’t even get them out of the box without the breaking falling off and falling apart. Jal bombers were the only thing good with my meal. Worst first experience ever and I don’t believe I will ever go back to this business at any location.

Unfortunately ZERO STARS is not an option! Are you kidding me? A 20 minute wait for fried chicken at a fried chicken restaurant? The first time I ate here the food was cold and the service was bad and the place was a wreck. This time, it’s no different, but I’m not waiting around 20 minutes for some bad food. I’m going to KFC!

Ok i gave this place 3 tries before i decided to rate it.
Its food served cold all 3 times. Staff very unprofessional. Dirty didnt get napkins or straw for my
food was just thrown in a box all 3 times and its pricey for the quality of food. Not going again

This place is doing so bad that the drive thru hasn’t had a call box for months and employees have come out to take your order and then go back in with it. If they are not doing well enough to fix the call box makes you wonder what else they skimp on? Cleaning, old food?

It was hard not to compare this to Chicken Express, upon looking at their menu. I think they’ve maybe had management or team changes since the last reviews, because I was not sold on this place.
Chicken — Their chicken was about the same as Chicken Express’s, maybe a little less greasy. Ordered some spicy and some regulars, and the spice on the spicy was just kinda tossed in there after the tenders went into the box, leaving huge chunks of unspiced chicken.

Sides — I was excited about the mac n cheese… if they could pull this off, this would definitely put them ahead in the Golden Chick/​Chicken Express Showdown. Come on — admit it — when you hit up KFC you can’t help but have that weird orangeish mac n cheese… it’s like a little piece of the 80s. So imagine how disappointed I was when I got this bland, cold, runny elbow pasta. Still gagging a little. Mashed potatoes with gravy had like a drop of gravy on them. I know the staff must have had Thanksgiving at some point and understood the importance of gravy… standard potatoes. Okra was sad. Rolls were about even between the two. Chicken E takes the win, because no mac n cheese is better than awful mac n cheese any day.

Service — Unfortunately, it was kinda slow & the staff seemed a little overwhelmed. I always try to be cheerful & upbeat whenever someone is in charge of something I’m going to digest, you know, ask how their day is going, and I can usually get an attempt at mirroring my pleasant demeanor… again — they seemed a little overwhelmed.

Well, well, well: Crowley has a new place to eat and its great! The roast chicken is truly delicious. The meat is juicy and the marinade has just enough spice to make it flavorful and pleasing. Also, they offer healthy sides like fruit salad or green salad in addition to the traditional fries, okra, potatoes (fries, mashed, & salad), green beans, or cole slaw. I haven’t tried the fried chicken, but if its half as good as the roast chicken then nearby competitors might be in trouble!

I think they will close down chicken express within a year. Fast, clean, and good. Only negative is its a bit greasy… but hey, It’s fried chicken.

New, clean, and fast service. Ordered the mixture of spicy and regular tenders which was good. Mac and cheese was OK but the french fries were super yummy.
