I’m new to Cromwell and when I found this place I was pretty happy. The pizza was good but not the service(unfriendly) even so I could over look that. However my last experience was distasteful literally. My pizza was burnt on the bottom and the cheese tasted old. On top of stall service the food is suffering too. I won’t be coming back and on the hunt for another pizza joint

Pizza’s good,(this from a pizza snob from New Haven!) and the food is always fresh and tasty. Counter staff is great w/a sense of humor and always very nice even on bad days. Would recommend Zerio’s in a heartbeat

The food is great. I’ve had pizza, sandwiches and pastas. I am going to make a point of getting some of their salads since they are huge and priced right. The other thing I like about Zerio’s is the people. Very nice, friendly and helpful.

Out of all the bad pizza in Cromwell zerios is definitely the worst. Their prices are outrageous, food is horrible, and counter help is atrociously rude. I have been here 3 times for takeout and both first times were disappointing but 3rd was the last straw. I was charged $ 15 for wings that had no sauce, $ 18 for a BURNT miniature«large» pizza(maybe 12″ across) with about 6 pieces of sausage, and $ 10 for a chicken Cesar salad with 3 oz of cold chicken that smelled like rotten fish. The women that work there are also horribly rude, and I have seen them sneeze and cough all over the deli case more than once. For the prices they charge I could have driven to new haven and ordered a REAL pizza that I could actually enjoy. Zerios is a rip off, save your money and just go to 1 of the other 10 mediocre pizza places around.

When you hit them on a slow night, the pizza is not bad. Stay away on busy nights like Friday or Saturday. They throw them together like they are slopping the pigs. I tried to buy pizza there 2 Friday nights. First time I got home and pizza was burned… and I mean the crust was carbon They would only offer me 50% off if I bought another even though 100% of that pie went in the trash. I didn’t go a long time and gave it another shot… not burned this night, but I ordered a half cheese, half with a few toppings. The toppings were on a third at best. I vowed never to order another pizza from this place. Their sandwiches have kept me coming back on occasion. Tonight, I ordered 2 sandwiches. I got home and the rueben was charred and tasted like crap. I couldn’t scrape the bread because it was soft from being wrapped, so I had to pick the outside of the bread off to eat it. Bottom line with this place is that when the pizza is actually cooked properly it is OK. When the sandwiches are cooked well they are very good. But there is absolutely no pride in what they wrap up for you. Cooked properly or burnt, you are getting it. Such a shame. I am spreading the word to avoid this place. Their food isn’t cheap. The owner needs to teach the staff that if they wouldn’t want to eat the end product, DONOTSERVEIT!!!

Food here is good, little pricey. And they don’t deliver. Salads are excellent. Tuna salad sandwich excellent. Loaded. People who work their are always cool.

I tried Zerios today after reading the good reviews on Unilocal.I can’t say i can recommend the place. Its very small inside almost no room to eat. I ordered my food and seemed like forever to get it. I ordered an italian combo 10in grinder chips and a soda. The bill came up to 12.34 with tax. Its pretty expensive for a lunch place if you ask me. There was no specials no coupons or anything. As for the food, there was a good amount of meat on the grinder but the roll was pretty stale which pretty much ruined the grinder. I do not think i will be back to Zerios anytime soon. Nardellis has better service, better grinders, and free refills on soda with better seating.

Zerios is a good old world style food place. A lot of good things to try. Raviollis and paninis are made really well. I order least once a week from here. I believe Kim puts a lot of effort in ensuring a consistently good quality.

Sandwiches are great but the service isn’t. There are times we walk in and nobody addresses us until we walk up to the counter. Prices also are a bit high but for the price the portions are great.

The boyfriend and I have been trying to find the best pizza around, and I think we can stop our search. We ordered the House Special pizza and it was fantastic, loaded down with plenty of meat and veggies, just two slices pushed me past stuffed. Boyfriend went in to pick it up and said everyone working at the restaurant was very friendly. Zerio’s is definitely going to be our top pick for Pizza nights.

Great panini… the southwest turkey is my favorite. The soups and salads are good too. The only downside is that you usually have to wait a few minutes longer than you expect to get your food, and a meal can get expensive since its ala carte. But it’s worth the wait and the cost every so often.

Went back here today for the first time in a while. The steak-and-cheese was everything that kind of grinder should be, far better than the precooked nonsense of Nardelli’s just down the street — and there was one thing I’d never noticed before: a pizza set out on the counter, to munch a free slice from while you waited. What a charming old-fashioned touch. Glad to see Zerio’s is as good as it ever was!

Used to hit up this place all the time when I worked in Middletown. Really good stuffed meat pizza, really good buffalo chicken panini. The people working here were always a bit strange, but who cares. Give it a try if you’re in the area.

Walked in the door at 7:55 on a Tuesday as they we’re closing up, which was at 8. They we’re more than cool with taking my order and turning the grill back on. I ordered the meatball panini — it was huge and delicious, and came with a side of marinara. The chefs salad was also very good and filling. Overall, it was a really great value with great people and great food. I will definitely be back.

One of the best pizzas I have ever had! I even eat the crust: D The sausage is amazing! I also love their buffalo panini. The portions are HUGE! Defiantly a must go to if in the area. They also have daily homemade soup. My son gets the pasta fagoli while waiting for the pizza. A must go to if in the area.

Great destination for pizza, calzones, grinders, and paninis — plus they had 4 or 5 soups on the menu. I had a buffalo chicken calzone which was delicious and large enough for a couple meals. The crust was soft and chewy even around the edges; very well made, which makes me want to go back to try their pizza. The staff is very friendly. They were packed at lunchtime and I can see why.

Paninis bigger than a loaf of bread, Calzones larger than a genius’s head. The prices and service were not the tops, But the food made my mouth water, Get out the mops. I got a Groupon and decided to try this place out. It’s tucked away in a crowded strip mall so you may need to park on the street during peak business hours. I called ahead and my food was ready in 20 minutes. While I waited for my order to be bagged up I had a small sample slice of pizza from the counter. The portions they give you are MONSTROUS! One panini fed my girlfriend for 3 meals. They have these paninis pre-made as cold sandwiches and then toast them up as they are ordered. My calzone was big, but I’ve had better. I like ‘em crispy; mine was doughy. Garden Salad was as basic as basic could be. Inside the restaurant there are about 4 tables with 4 chairs each and a high bar table with some chairs. Nobody was dining in when I went there around 5:30pm. Biggest downside was the service. I didn’t even get a half-smile from the lady behind the counter. She didn’t make me feel welcome in her restaurant. Overall, not bad, but I wouldn’t make the drive over from Middletown again.

They have some really good pizza. Try the BBQ chicken. Nothing really much to say about the décor, I typically have take out. Some of their chocolate truffles are pretty bland. But it’s all about the pizza. Probably the best in the area. Why not five stars? For what it is(a quick pizza fix) it’s great. There’s better pizza out there though.

This is the BEST pizza and grinder shop in the area. Hands down. The food Is great, paninis and soups imaginative. The portions are so larger and the grinders are so big, it boarders on obnoxiousness. Whenever I see someone in my Middletown office show up with a Nardelli’s bag I turn my nose up and say«You should have gone to Zario’s! Nardelli’s is nothing but a glorified Subway!»(And Nardelli’s is pretty good… it just cannot compare to the quality of Zario’s in my humble opinion).
