1.) Introduction: I feel so cheesy to say this, but… I love cheese! I love cheesing in front of cameras, I love acting cheesy, I love eating cheese. Sometimes… *blows on finger tips*…I feel I am the big cheese. Cheese-Us-Rice(Jesus Christ — sorry for being vain for using your name in vain) I hope you guys get the point! I am all cheesy for cheese!!! 2.) What you may see: A place that doesn’t look like a cheese store. You are bombarded with what looks like a version of Hallmark meets Munson’s Chocolate meets a tea shop. If the outside sign didn’t read«cheese» shop, one would have never known! Well, thankfully I am not stupid enough to just stop at the entrance and walk away. There’s a fridge, about 10 to 12 feet in width and maybe 6 feet in height, with labels from around Europe, and tiny bits of U.S., Canada and Australia. Three blocks of cheeses came from Cato Corner(I NEED to go there, thanks to a fellow Unilocaler who bragged about that place). 3.) The cheesiness: I tried these babies… a.) Mahon — Spain b.) Fourme D’Ambert — France c.) Drunken Goat — Spain d.) Old Quebec Cheddar — 7 year — Canada e.) Vlaskaas — Holland. f.) Pepato — Italy g.) Paive Vecchio — Italy h.) Prima Donna Red — Holland Granted you guys could care less about the names and countries, I could say these were some things that apparently customers favored. Some were like spreads, others were very creamy in taste, some were more salty than sweet, sweet than salty, others seemed like they would pair well with wine. Yum, yum, yum. Yum and Yummer… starring Jim Carrey. 4.) Service: I was greated by Marisol. She was very nice, and she insisted that I tried all of the samples. It was«do you want to try the… from ???» And…“how about this? Let’s try this one.” Okay, that’s awesome! I thank her for that! Because now I’m all about it. 5.) Impressions: Apparently the owner is going to do wine and cheese tastings here. They don’t sell wine here, but it seems like such a good idea. I’m all about cured meat, cheese and wine. That’s swinging from hammock, being fanned by beautiful women type food. Same thing for ladies. Wine and cheese tastings? Let’s try it! Woohoo!

I was told this was a cheese shop but the soccer mom’s hoard of birdhouses and greeting cards that greet the first time customer will tell you otherwise. It’s more of a gift shop, one of those generic stops for impersonal country-style knick-knacks and bulk malt balls… but there *is* cheese. All the way in the back corner there’s a 12 foot long cooler with glass doors and few dozen wheels of cheese. The lady wielding the cheese machete wasn’t very helpful with pairing advice and when I tried to talk about some of the notes in the cheese I was looking for she fell just short of being able to have a conversation with me about it. You can try any of them for free though so it doesn’t really matter much unless you were trying to learn about them. Prices were reasonable.
