I think I first set foot in the Red Rooster in 1968. Little has changed. I lived in Cripple Creek during the late 1970’s into the early 1980’s and this was a regular stop. Cripple Creek is clique heaven. Depending on who you wanted to spend time with determined what bar you chose. Uncle Dick, Doc Yarborough, Steve Hornibrook, The Mackin family and so many more called the Red Rooster«their bar». For me, going to the Red Rooster is like going home again.

Mark is an amazing bartender. Try the Red Rooster drink too. Friendly and fun. Classy, 100 year old bar, and definitely worth the short trip off the strip.

The Red Rooster is a great little bar tucked away in the Imperial Hotel. If you want to get away from the noise of the casinos this is the spot. The staff is great and so is the historic ambiance.

This place is a sweet little bar at a historic hotel. There’s an Italian restaurant with a high rating in the same building, and this place(open at lunch and mid-afternoon) serves some of the same food, in addition to some incredible sandwiches. The turkey club was especially delicious and the onion rings were incredible. The waiter was also very friendly and helpful and the cook actually poked her head out into the restaurant to ask about our order. She was super sweet and came and talked to us after we finished eating. Bonus: the ambiance of this place is adorable, full of interesting vintage things. The whole place is painted in reds and when the sunlight filters through the windows it’s just lovely. Also, everything but the bar top is original and about 100 years old.
