I still love this place! ^__^ I have since come up several times for different shows and I just can’t help but falling in love with it every time I come. I do love the town and wished there was a bit more to it than casinos, since I don’t care for gambling anyways, but I do hope that the town will slowly add more artistic endeavors to its repertoires. I do support anything non-gambling that I can in Cripple Creek, hoping that it makes a difference. I will keep returning to the Butte, for sure.

As always, the Butte Theater doesn’t disappoint. The Halloween show was great! There was a miscommunication with tickets I purchased and Mel made sure to get us a seat to the sold out show. That’s awesome customer service!

I’ve been three times and it’s always a good show. The performers are very good and obviously have a lot of fun. The shows are usually kid friendly and they often do a themed show based on the season. If you sit towards the back it can be hard to see but they offer cushioned seats to give you a little elevation. Over all I would love to see them perform again.

Awesome historic theater. We saw«Singing In The Rain», my wife and new friends — a great experience. I loved how the cast is available to show you to your seat. They also assist with concessions at intermission — talk about a hard working cast! Great venue, fun and interactive show. Yes, we drove 90-minutes from Monument to see it, but it was worth it — hard to beat this theater experience.

For something totally spontaneous and completely different from our usual routine, I purchased tickets to the Butte Theater Opera House’s Christmas show, «A Cripple Creek Christmas Carol.» I booked a hotel room for a single night, and my wife and I drove up to this little ol’ mining town from the Denver area. The show was a hoot! Very talented local actors performed a localized interpretation of the Dickens classic, with original music, a funny and touching story line, and an Old West, Dudley Do-Right and Snidely Whiplash flavor. When the villain steps on stage, everybody boos, when he does something mean, everyone hisses, and when he gets his comeuppance, everyone hollers and cheers. Great fun for little kids and adults, but probably best to leave the teenagers at home, as most of the teens in the audience sat with their arms crossed because they were far too cool to be there. The town of Cripple Creek has, from my perspective, been ruined by the casinos. While the turn-of-the-century buildings are still there, it has none of the flair or appeal of other mountain towns without legalized gambling. If we return for another show at the Butte, we’ll stay in the much more charming town of Victor six miles away.
