There might have been 8 people at most when we came in but we were told by an obviously disgruntled hostess that there would be a ten minute wait unless we wanted to clean up our own tables! The chicken tacos and charro beans were good… the nachos, veggie burrito, and refried beans(which, by the way, apparently contain lard), were not. I think our waiter meant well but he couldn’t get two out of three orders right.

So great upon arrival we received chips with mild, and hot salsa, with a dish of refried beans then water with lemon… great so far. Then there was Charlene… bam what a bad first impression! No welcome, nope… first thing out of her mouth«are we ready to order?» Hostess who brought the previous, returned immediately after we told CHARLENE that we were not ready, I told her«so you are super friendly, she is not do you have. manager on duty…» Manager came by and apologized and took our drink order. Charlene after manager delivered drinks came back said«Are we ready, NOW.» We ordered our app. the app combo was great… large order of chicken flautas, cheesy nachos over beans, cheesy quesadilla and some creamy non-descript dip. Amazed to notice that CHARLENE had been a supervisor since 2008… can you say right to work state… anybody, anybody. The carne asade was cooked perfectly, unfortunately the carnitas were very dry, from a holding pan… so dry we sent back… Lesson Learned ONLY order items COOKED to order! Also Maya, hostess, busser, greater, catch-all should be commended!!! All I can say to the management is rethink keeping someone on staff who is working against your team and keeping you down!

Service was simple and to the point. Typical Mexican fanfare that didn’t impress. Salsa was fresh but too much oregano, the mild version tasted like a can. Veggie fajitas were covered in vegetable oil, couldn’t eat them. Green chile burrito was lacking.

A group of us came to town for a Friday night of fun… and of course to make our«donation» to the casinos. For dinner, we chose to eat here… Mexican sounded good… First of all… DONOT waste your money on a $ 10 top shelf margarita. Awful. I sent it back.(quite honestly, I think they gone mine mine mixed up with the basic one another person at the table ordered; however the waitress assured me that mine was the Top Shelf one… hence, sent it back) Anyway, I digress… For dinner I had the steak fajita burrito, and it was served with beans and rice. I would have to say that it was just… ok… For the price, I would have rather had Taco Bell… Yes, I know that is harsh, but like I said… just ok… barely. Note much flavor at all; no spice, not much of anything… Like some of the other reviews say… service was very slow! Our server was very nice… just VERY slow… waited forever to order after being seated… then forever before the food came… But the server was very nice… On a positive note, I was only in this area of Colorado for a business trip… so I won’t have to worry about coming back. So like one of the other reviews says… you’re better off if you go someplace else… Sorry…

Slow and sloppy service, with okay food. My wife and I visited Baja Billy’s with my daughter’s future in-laws, and it was our first time meeting with them — great people! Our plans for the evening included dinner here, followed by a live performance of «Singing In The Rain» at the Butte Theater. The musical was wonderful, but I can’t say the same thing about my experience at Baja Billy’s. The service was the real culprit. I think our server may have also been the bar tender, which pulled her away from us for prolonged periods of time. It seemed to take too long between table visits for her to get our drink order, bring the drinks, take our order, refill drinks, bring the food, do the quality check, and bring the bill. It was obvious to me that something or someone else was her priority. When she was at the table, our server was constantly moving — almost frenetically — shifting her weight from hip to hip, with jittery head and hand movement, etc. I think she was just in a hurry. When she brought the food to the table, she held each plate and swayed it back, forth, up, and down as she asked, «Who had the _____?» At one point, I felt the need to quickly pull my head back because I thought she was going to brush my cheek with one of the plates! I had a problem with my order and it wasn’t handled well. I ordered the seafood enchiladas with green sauce instead of habanero sauce. As she picked my plate up from the serving tray, our server said, «Oh no, they put the habanero sauce on yours instead of the green chile,» and then she rocked her head around and she looked at me hopefully as if to beg me to accept it anyway. I didn’t want to make a fuss, so I said I would try it, at which point she smiled with relief and spastically swung it into position and set it down with a plop. As I suspected, the habanero sauce was too hot for me. So, after waiting 5 – 7 minutes for her to return, we finally asked another server to locate her. Our server came over and asked, «Is it too hot for you?» After she took my plate back to the kitchen, it took another 10 – 15 minutes for my food to come back. Since the rest of my party was already finished eating, I snarfed it down as quickly as I could. As I recall, the flavor of the enchiladas was okay but nothing remarkable. Had the habanero sauce not been quite so hot, I think I would have preferred it over the green chile sauce. The others in my party said they enjoyed their food, so I guess everything was okay. So, for me, the service was poor and the food was okay. I recommend that this restaurant do whatever is needed to allow the server to focus on customer experience. She could use a training on self presentation, focus, and how to see things from your customers’ perspective. Additionally, they should have made some gesture of apology because my order was wrong and I had to eat by myself, but they didn’t offer anything. If not for the enjoyable conversation with my wife and new friends, I would not have enjoyed the dining experience at all, and I probably would have complained to management. I might be willing to go back, but only with assurances that I will have a different service experience.
