Wow… Where do I even begin. I’m not one to be overly picky or critical, but my experience here was truly terrible. If it wasn’t for the food being alright I would have had to give an even lower rating. My friends and I started the night with drinks. I got a Fresh Agave Margarita which wasn’t even that great. For the price it’s really not worth it, because the margarita glass is tiny. I felt like I had taken two sips of it and was basically done with it. Whoever made it also did not salt it very well because only half the glass actually had salt on it. My group of 4 waited at least 30 minutes after we ordered our drinks for our server to take our food orders. Terrible. After our drinks were served he didn’t even bother to ask us if we wanted to order anything else. He rushed off to do something else, which is kinda surprising seeing how empty the place was. When we were finally able to flag him down he took our orders down. But after waiting another 45 minutes we had to get his attention to check on the status of our order. Turns out he forgot to put in the food. By the time we finally got our food I was hangry af. I got the Parmesan Frites and Lettuce Chicken Wraps. The fries were pretty good, they definitely don’t skimp on the cheese. It comes with three different dipping sauces that go well with the crispy fries. The chicken wraps were pretty good too. You end up assembling the wraps yourself, so if you’re ordering it ask you server for a stack of napkins once you’re finally able to get him to notice you. We had to wait a while for our server to give us our checks, and we ran into another problem at this point. The server told us the wrong prices for our drinks. The menu clearly states what the prices are, but he assured us that what he was telling us were the correct prices. We had to get a manager involved to clear up the confusion and we ended up getting our drink prices reduced, but it was just really unprofessional on the server’s part. If you’re hungry and have 2+ hours to kill, this is your place to be. Otherwise, I would suggest another place to dine and drink.

Sorry Houlihan’s, my experience here with the food and drinks just did not impress. Came here with a group of 7 people and we ordered 7 different appetizers and a plethora of drinks. Unfortunately, nothing were extremely good, and some were not good at all. The wings were not tasty, they were dried up and no good. It seems like they were sitting around for hours and still decided to serve them to us. The chipotle chicken nachos were just extremely greasy with barely any chicken at all. I was extremely disappointed with the nachos The fried mushrooms were great, you bit into them and mushroom juice(or oil?) would seep out and it was an awesome flavor. The fries and wontons /dumplings were good. I would suggest those if you are gonna get appetizers at Houlihans. Maybe I’ll be back to try some other things

Last time for lunch, this time for dinner. Since there were 10 of us, we had made reservations. We were seated promptly(no waiting for them to set it up) and we were being served by two waitresses. Even though we were spread around from our SO’s, there was no problem with separate checks. M ordered the baby back ribs with asparagus and I chose the grilled Thai chicken. Mine came with grilled asparagus and one of our friends, G, chose a side of asparagus also. Our food arrived. My chicken was good but very small as was G’s piece of chicken. M’s ribs were good but he didn’t consider them to be baby back ribs. My chicken was good but I didn’t care for the rice that came with it. Now the big disappointment. Our asparagus. We each got four skinny pieces of asparagus as our side. Now asparagus is expensive. I get a bundle of it for $ 5.00. If you can only give out four pieces maybe you should change to a cheaper vegetable. I’m not sure why this didn’t let me do a separate review. I’m still new to Unilocal and learning. Lunch at Houlihan’s yesterday was a little disappointing, but then again it just might have been me. All previous meals here have been very good. I started with the half and half. Half cup of soup and half an entrée salad. The soup I chose was tomato bisque. That was very good with two small fried cheese balls on the top of it. For the salad, I ordered the Buffalo Blue Salad. Buffalo chicken pieces with bacon, tomatoes, pecans, croutons etc. with gorgonzola cheese and garlic ranch dressing. Hhhmm. The chicken was good and I did find a pecan but that was not a garlic ranch dressing. The dressing was clear and had no flavor to it. Instead of the Gorgonzola cheese being crumbled on top, it was sliced on the side. Maybe I’m just being picky. We did get excellent service from our server(Lauren?). We were cousins catching up on what life has thrown us and they let us stay there for over two hours. Loved the atmosphere and service, not so much the food.

Happy hour here is anything but. The menu says that happy hour includes well drinks, which they describe as house liquor and one mixer. So I order a Kentucky mule, which is bourbon and ginger beer. However, at Houlihan’s a Kentucky Mule is a special drink worth $ 8. I did not ask for top shelf, and I think it’s shady to commandeer a drink name for a cocktail that to the public just means bourbon and ginger beer, not specifically Jim Bean. I ended up paying more here than at any restaurant I’ve been to in years. And it’s a chain with average food at best! Shame on you. Next stop, Better Business Bureau.

My girlfriend and I ate here last night and it was amazing. We had Mikayla as our waitress she provided great service I would recommend asking for her. We both had the 5 oz. steak it was just ok it was a little though the steak butter was really good. You must ask for the rolls the are so GOOD! Diffidently coming back!

I used to come here a lot and decided to go for a family members birthday. Never. Ever. Again. On a Tuesday night at most restaurants you can expect pretty quick service. We didn’t even get our apps for 45 minutes after being seated. But that’s not the worst… I ordered the strip steak, probably the most expensive thing on the menu. The first steak was rancid. I thought maybe my taste buds were off because of a recent cold but my mom could smell it as I was passing it back to the waitress. Even the waitress took a sniff and said something was definitely wrong. Unfortunately I had already taken a big bite so I had confirmation it was rotten meat. So they brought me another steak around the time the rest of my family was finishing. As the manager handed it to me he had the nerve to insinuate that I was making it up. By then I didn’t have the heart to go into my soup being delivered cold and … The second steak was also bad. After all that I still had to pay for my steak. Didn’t even get an offer for a free dessert. Overall even if the meal had been better I would have been unimpressed. The interior isn’t very well lit. The wait staff seem to not know what’s going on and the manager needs a few classes on client appreciation.

I have always been a fan of houlihans happy hour, though it has had many changes over the years. It is still one of the best happy hours you can find in town for food and drink specials. Houlihans has good menu options and is a good place to watch sports with all of its tv screens in the bar area. The liter pitchers of long islands are a personal fave. The burgers, sliders, lettuce wraps, wings, parmasan frittes, and shrooms are all good. My only complaint is that i wish they were more consistent with their happy hour deals and time schedule. I feel like every time i go, there’s a new«surprise» with it that i wasn’t expecting which is disappointing. Granted I am somewhat sporadic when I come.

Some of the best spinach dip i’ve ever had(must get with the lavosh crackers). The chicken strips are good too. Past couple times we’ve gone, the service has been lacking. Also had two friends order filet ‘medium’ and both came out purple and cold. Waitress/manager resolved the issue quickly.

As a party of 5, we arrived at 6:30p yesterday, and were told it would be a 45 minute wait. Rather than hop back down to Applebee’s we decided to stay. At 7p we tried to check our spot in line… It was 40 more minutes! We watched numerous parties walk out, but after 30 minutes, only 5 minutes were cut from our wait! Needless to say, we ended up down the road at Applebee’s! This was only my second visit, but will be my last. The first visit wasn’t anything amazing either. Mediocre food and atmosphere.

Ugh… what happened to this place? It was never great but it would get at least 3 stars for the service and acceptable chow. Now? Just poor service, entrees came out gross and it’s always packed(but mostly with many many seniors). It’s just a depressing experience now. I wish the one in Chestefield was still open. They knew how to cook and serve. This place should just close down and start over.

Bottled beer could be colder probably because the cooler is covered with cookie sheets vs actual air tight doors. Spinach artichoke dip was flavorless. Ahi tuna tataki only had six tiny slices(clearly not worth $ 10+ they charged). Baked potato soup was flavorless(even after being topped with bacon, cheddar and scallion). Veggie burger entailed a patty and microwaved slice of cheese(at least add spinach or leafy green and some roasted peppers – honestly anything could have helped), but was overall flavorless. Bottle beers are mistreated and food lacks flavor. Priced way too high for what it truly is(even during happy hour).

I used to go to Houlihan’s on Mason on occasion and go to the Chesterfield Mall location frequently. I always thought the Mason location’s food and service was a bit better, but it was a little further away. Now that the Chesterfield location is closed, I find myself at the Mason location much more often, at least once per month. And, it sure is great. I really like how they’re open late on week nights, and we expect to continue to take advantage of that. As is usually the case, on my last visit, the food(Chick Parm, Veggie Burger Sliders, French Dip) was excellent — great quality, taste, texture … all at a reasonable price. We’ve had a different server each of the last 5 times we’ve eaten there. And, they’ve always been very friendly and helpful. This time was no exception. However, this last time, I found there were several long stretches where the server was not around. Not a huge deal, but it would have been nice if the server came around a bit more often. If you haven’t tried it yet, try the spinach dip with cheesy lavosh appetizer. Fantastic.

This particular location has always been spot on when I’ve visited. The food was good, and the service was fast despite how busy it was.

It’s just as you would expect. Ok. Not great but it’s a chain. We ordered fried pickles and got them plus a fried piece if squid! Not a fan!

This place is kind of an enigma to me. Every time I go in, the menu is completely different. It started as an Applebees kind of fare and gets more and more modern every time I return. Different check in rewards every time, too — I recall using Foursquare previously and getting a free order of fries upon check in, but this time nothing. They offer up a lot of modern/fancy menu choices now. Lots of things with pretzel buns, sliders, organic greens, antibiotic chicken, etc. Don’t get me a wrong, I like it, it just doesn’t quite… fit. The restaurant building and décor is dated, dark, and dingy which doesn’t fit their modern menu offerings and presentation. Service was OK. It’s overpriced in my opinion. The food was tasty, but I feel my money could be better well spent at a spot with a more enjoyable atmosphere.

This place has changed. We were told they no longer offer the extended evening happy hour, and the menu has also changed. Their menu seems stuffy and doesn’t offer a lot of choices. Ended up ordering a burger(they now only offer a build your own. They used to have a Fritos burger and other specialty burgers which was awesome!) My build your own burger was really good, however I don’t like picking out toppings one by one, I’d rather just point to the menu and grunt when it has a burger that’s already«topped». Eh. Oh well. Due to the happy hour that isn’t happy any more, and the lack of options on what used to be a really cool menu, I would probably not come here again unless I was with a group and someone else suggested it.

Came here for a lunch meeting. There was 7 of us and they seated the group upstairs. Going up the steps was like going back into another era. Say London in the 1890’s. Exposed brick cast iron railings nice table. We were isolated enough to talk and not bother any of the other guests. For starters the majority ordered French onion soup. They really knocked this one out of the park. Perfect broth and the onions were slightly pungent which I found to be great. I had a burger with cheese and asked it to be cooked medium. They cooked it perfectly. The service was outstanding and so was the food. I have been here a few times but have never been sat upstairs. It really gives the place a wonderful feel. If possible I would ask to be seated upstairs again.

On of my «go to» spots when I’m hungry. I’m a regular here. I typically order apps. I love the Chicken Avocado Eggrolls, Chicken Nachos, Spinach Dip and Wings.
