I will not come here again. I ordered the chicken wings and upon receiving them, I was disgusted. The wings had feathers on them the size of my pinky finger and there was hardly ANY meat. However, the owner was nice enough to swap out my meal with chicken tenders, but even those had NO flavor to them whatsoever. My boyfriend had the beef sandwich combo and he stated that it was just OK. Overall, you’re better off spending your money at Culver’s or Portillo’s. There was no flavor in the food and a bit over-priced. There’s nothing special to this place and I don’t understand how people enjoy eating bland food. Not coming here ever again

Great food! Obsessed with the beef and homemade hot peppers! Owner is very personable and friendly, you can get a lot of food for the price!!! Will definitely be back!

surprisingly, I see a few people doesn’t like their pizza. Caruso’s pizza is actually good to me. It is better than many of these other pizza joints.

It’s an ok place, staff is well mannered, owner is friendly. But in all honesty this pizza place has just God awful pizza, the dough was the consistency of a half dampened saltine cracker. And I can’t say anything about the crust, because there was none. They said it was a fresh slice but the cheese looked old. Like sitting for hours old, in all honesty it made me lost my appetite. The plate they handed us to put out food on was soaking wet for washing them (Yuck). I had to wipe them down with a paper towel before I put my food on them. Which it’s not a big deal, but when I was seen wiping the plates I was told«hey bud, they’re already clean» which tell my they expected me to eat off those plates with pools of water in them. Like I said staff is very friendly, but missed the mark on being a pizza place. I’m not a fan, I hope they fix the pizza and wipe down plates cause other then that it might make a good place

Do not go here for deep dish pizza. Plenty of better options nearby. Poor ingredients. It was dough with an inch of slimy cheese that tasted like fried chicken.

Caruso’s is as unique a place as I’ve ever been. Walked in and asked the owner what their specialty is. He said it’s the Italian breaded ribeye steak sandwich. I ordered that and a side of mozzarella sticks. Food was great. Sticks weren’t anything better or worse than I’ve ever had but the sandwich was fantastic. Very different than anything I’ve ever had also. It was 80⁄20 beef to breading. He didn’t overload it with the fat fryer. The best part about the whole place was the owner. He was funny, sarcastic, and genuine. He sat down at our table and myself and three friends talked about the«good ol’ days» when the mafia was still around. I can’t say enough about the service and the atmosphere that man created. I will be going back anytime I’m back in Chicago. Loved my experience there.

Ham and cheese is really good. Not a fan of cold sandwiches so I heat it later, very good. The owner is nice and inviting. Great local restaurant.

I really enjoy Caruso’s. It is within walking distance of me and the only thing that would make it better is if they offered delivery. I have been here on several occasions and every time I come here, I find the staff to be friendly and the food to be delicious. My friends and I recently discovered their deep dish pizza with fresh garlic cloves on it. One word; WOW!!!

This place is decent. I wouldn’t go in expecting much, it’s cheap food in a convenient spot. The 2 Chicago Dogs with fries and a drink for $ 4.99 is a good amount of food and pretty hard to beat. Their pizza is ok. Lots of other things on the menu but this place strikes me as a «jack of all trades, master of none» venue, they don’t have any one thing they really excel at making. The owner is very friendly but the rest of the staff looks like they would really rather be somewhere else!

I’ve eaten here a few times now and have enjoyed it. I’ve gotten pasta here and it’s very good, it has a homey feel to it. Kind of like a dish you’d eat at your Italian friend’s grandma’s house on a holiday. The owner is usually present and he’s a friendly guy. I like the fact that you get to eat with real silverware instead of the plastic stuff as well. Overall, it’s a place worth trying.

ive gone here often, i have to say ive always been relatively pleased with my order. ive never had any issues with service, the owner is the one always there, he takes my order and then the guy in back cooks it. yes it does take a few extra minues as they are making everything pretty much to order. its not all premade prefabed like McD an Burger King Nuke food. ive had the chicken wings with the buffalo sauce which gave them quite a kick… and it is the bigger good sized wing not the mini party wing… its $ 5 for 5 wings an fries. but to me its worth it. you go anywhere else and you get party wings for .65 each … the maxwell street polish and fries is goood. i mean hell for $ 4 you got a footlong polish and fries… so yep its good. both fries an rings are ok…(no one gives you that many rings sadly anywhere… but these are pretty good) the raviloi dinner is pretty good, i do tho wish the meatballs were a tad bigger but they are good … Meatball sandwich is good too … beef sandwhich was good tho i like a good meaty sandwhich sooo that part lacked a tad but it was gooood. hmmmmm what else, i think thats about it what ive tried so far but agan never had any huge issues with the food. always hot and made the way i like. the owner has always been kind and friendly… remembers me when i walk in and says hello… so thats a plus… i like that. i like too that if you are going to sit down in there they give you real dishes/silverware UNlike other places like McD and BK you get wrappers and boxes… this way you can actually feel like you are dinning in. All in all i will return and have referred others there and they have liked it so far. BUT of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion…

This place was ok. I don’t know if I would refer to it as fast food. It’s not someplace I would go if I was in a real hurry but on the lazy Saturday afternoon that I went with my husband and children it was very nice. They’re seating was very comfortable and they’re food was about what you would expect from how it looked. Good but not great. My husband had the gyro and he gave it 3 stars, saying it was good but«nothing special» My kids had hot dogs and fries that were very typical for a maxwell street type place. Probably the highlight of the meal would be my pepperoni calzone. First of all it was the size of a football. Well maybe I exaggerate a little, but it was enough that two people could share it. The first couple of bites were a little dry which wasn’t a problem since it came with a little side of sauce. Once I got to the filling it oozed out cheese and sauce and all sorts of greasy, yummy goodness. All in all, I wouldn’t say it was to die for but I was satisfied.

Well I tried them a THIRD time and overall, its just«meh»…if theres nothing else around sure give them a try, but they arent consistent. and the owners have an attitude that their beef and steaks are the best ever. I mentioned Ricobenes and the owner said they sucked not what they used to be. WRONGTHINGTOSAY especially when YOU arent consistent as the GREAT RICOs has been for OVERTHIRTYYEARS… RICOS is what one STRIVES to be in selling a steak sammy… to talk trash about them when your own place isnt as good… well… I cant get on board with a place that one time gives you a piled high beef and another time the meat isnt enough to fill the bread. The same with the steaks.

The service is extremely slow, so much in fact that it made me and my wife miss our movie. The food was mediocre at best. For your own good and better value, stick with Portillo’s across the same parking lot.

Brand spanking new fast food place serving pizza, pasta and sandwiches. I tried the philly sandwich and the pizza, both were very good. The philly was made to order and had mushrooms in it. The pizza had a good amount of cheese on it which really made it satisfying and a bargain at $ 3.00 for a generous slice. I had a pleasant chat with the owner who was behind the counter and you can tell they take the quality of their food seriously. Even though the street address is on Cicero, the physical location is a little west of Cicero on Rivercrest.
