First off, went into Le Bosquet with very high expectations, because of positive Unilocal reviews and a quick glance of the menu. However what my girlfriend and I received was less then mediocre. We were served stale bread after asking several times. When we got our meals we immediately noticed they were undercooked, when we asked for medium. My girlfriend ordered a steak and I got the lamp chops. They are charging a premium price for a product that does not meet basic expectations. If I am going to be paying $ 36 for lamb chops I expect them to be cooked all the ways, and for the meat to be tender and fall off the bone. Instead I got a 4 tough lamb chops that was a challenge to cut into bites. The restaurant felt like I was stepping into a time machine, clearly never updating the décor. They serve uninventive«French meals» such as Streak fritas. Which is literally a steak with a side of french fries. A meal no authentic French restaurant would serve. After leaving Le Bosquet I am left with a bitter taste in my mouth and will not be returning!

Very good food, service and atmosphere. Lamb was delicious, wife had the steak fritte, New York steak which she rated tender, juicy and flavor full.

Did not get the«French» part, but a really nice meal. The big difference is you can relax here without the din of a tourist mountain town. The food was solid and the twilight special is worthwhile.

What a wonderful friendly place. Hungarian soup was delicious. Wedge salad was quite good. I wasn’t very hungry so I had a ‘small plate’ of Coquille St Jacques which was great. Hubby had ‘small’ sized steak frites. I LOVE that you can have ½ portions. I’m glad we left room for dessert — choc mousse(I have it every time) and the special of flourless choc cake was terrific. The staff is very friendly, & the soft music and conversation is a welcome change.

Has been our favorite CB restaurant for 20 years or more. Most portions are available in half orders and the twilight 3 course menu is a good deal. Absolutely love the hazelnut chicken and the chicken piccata from the twilight menu. House salad with the sesame dressing is awesome. Last time we went the halibut special was incredible. We moved away about 10 year ago but try to come back every time we visit.

Great dinner! Had escargot, wedge salad, and steak frites. All were very flavorful and tasty! Nice wine. Reasonably priced. Small portion was perfect! Try this, you will like it!

My husband and I are second home owners so we are in Crested Butte often. We eat here 5 – 6 times a year. The food is very good if you know what to order. I love the hazelnut chicken or chicken piccata and my husband loves the lamb. We love the half portion menu that is offered. The service is always slow so be prepared for at least one and a half to two hours for your meal. Service has never been fast and lately the waitstaff has seemed to have been reduced. However, this is the Crested Butte way! This is a pricey restaurant for Crested Butte and they try to have a French ambience, so why in the world have they resorted to PAPER napkins?

Pretentious with a capital P. Extremely slow, haughty service; food arrived cold, no ambience whatsoever. It was a shame to spend so much on such an unsatisfactory dining experience.

I am still dreaming of the mushroom soup, AMAZING! The twilight specials are a steal at $ 25 for 3 yummy courses. Don’t understand the poor reviews, each dish I tried was lovely and perfectly cooked. I’m honestly considering going back tonight it was so good.

Great food and nice atmosphere. We had the fondue, the center cut pork loin, and the hazelnut chicken. All were delicious and very well presented. The fondue was a little unusual with the nutmeg but tasted great with the optional broccoli and apples. The pork loin and its sides perfectly complimented each other. And the hazelnut chicken was very unusual but quite tasty. The service was a little slow but not offensively slow especially since there was just one waitress and the place was pretty busy.

Easily the best restaurant in Crested Butte! The entire dining experience is what you’d expect to find only in a much larger city. The menu has something for every taste(steaks, lamb, seafood, poultry, etc.); the service is consistently excellent; entrees are available in ½ portions for those with smaller appetites: and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. We live here year round — with over 30 restaurants in the area, this is one we eat at on a weekly basis. it is predictable, enjoyable, and consistenly excellent.

Went here with my parents. First thing I should mention is service is very slow. We were there for over 1.5 hours before we got our check. A little while after we were seated our waitress, who was very friendly, came and took drink orders. She asked the adults what they would like to drink then completely ignored the kids. For an appetizer I ordered the French onion soup which was good but nothing special. For the entrée I ordered the half sized steak Frites which was very good but overpriced due to the small portions. Overall I coul recommend le bosquet if you can handle the slow service

Wow! Tried to check this out for dinner with my girl on a little weekend getaway 2 days after Thanksgiving. What a horrible experience, and here’s why: 1) Horrible service: hardly anyone in the place, yet our server was unavailable most of the time. When we had a problem with the food being a bit tasteless, she never apologized or did anything to try and make it right. The manager never came to see us about the meal, and the place was dead. 2) Crappy location and Crappy ambiance. In a strip mall? Next to a grocery store? Really? I thought this was Crested Butte. 3) Way overpriced for tasteless food pitifully portrayed as French. Let me tell you folks, We’ve had great French cuisine in Napa and other places for cheaper than what this crap was passed off as. 4) Bonus! My girl got sick probably from the spinach and it pretty much ruined our idea of a romantic evening. In conclusion, Le Bosquet had no redeeming qualities whatsoever, and my girl and I are not very picky or pretentious. Please close forever Le Bosquet.

Well our experience was 180 degrees different from that of Carmel t. Perhaps it was the time of year(we were there in early June), but we had fine service and were pleased with the food. We were five and had the warm goat cheese salad and the Cesar salad to start then salmon, boneless short ribs, lamb and steak. Everything was great and a nice feature of the place is that you can get half, or full portions. We all had the half portions and it was just right. We shared the sorbet which was lovely and light. There was a sign in the window that suggested the restaurant and the take away shop next door are for sale, so next review maybe deal with a new owner.

We’ve gone here for years, and there are many dishes which are done well, and some that miss the mark. Their simple house salad has a hazelnut dressing that makes it unique and beautiful. The hazelnut chicken is also delicious. Their lobster ravioli are hit and miss — sometimes flavorless and doughy, and other times, delicate and flavorful. They do their steaks and fish, whether elk or beef, quite well. The chocolate mousse is good. Many of their soups are delectable — the french onion is always great. The service has always been nicely paced — not rushed, but not unduly slow. The ambiance is elegant. The prices are somewhat high, but cheaper or competitive with the other French European places in town. On the other hand, we’ve spent twice as much at Soupçon, which can also be hit and miss. I’d rather hit and miss at half the price, or just choose some of the more family oriented restaurants in Crested Butte that are much cheaper, with just as delicious, satisfying food, if of a different cuisine: Marchiatelli’s Wooden Noodle, the Ginger Café(Asian fusion), and the Last Steep come to mind. Another way to beat the prices is to order take out from Bosquet’s deli: hits include the frozen and fresh soups, hazelnut chicken, eggplant or chicken parmesan. Buy some nice artisanal bread and salad greens at the grocery shop next store, and you’ve got yourself a great meal.

Very disappointed. We booked our dinner at Le Bosquet based on the good New York Times review(strangely the only restaurant reviewed in Crested Butte). The Service was AWFUL. It was a slow Tuesday night– we made reservations for 2 and we waited at the hostess stand for 5 – 7 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. Once they did, it took them about another 5 – 7 minutes to prepare a table. We were one of 5 other tables in the place. 15 minutes after we were seated, a drink order was finally taken. The appetizers were so-so. My husband did like the fondue and the pomme frittes were decent. The Salads were AWFUL! The Ceasar especially was truly atrocious. Ice cold, Wilted lettuce and soggy croutons. The Entrees were good but nothing special and NOTWORTH the $ 30– $ 40 we paid for each. The chocolate moose for desert was good but again, not memorable. It took the waitress 15 – 20 minutes to clear our table after we completed each course. It bordered on ridiculous. Over all, the only thing that we will remember about our dinner experience was the awful service. For the same price you can go over to SoupCon and have the meal of a lifetime. Highly recommend SoupCon– DONOT go to Le Bosquet if you are looking for an enjoyable evening.
