This place is always super busy, but if u have the time I would say it’s worth the wait. Great drinks, had a chai one day and a latte another and both were great! Staff was friendly and quick both times! Limited seating, but if u can grab a table in the sun it’s a nice place to relax.

This is the coolest coffee shop — really worth a stop through town. Their jo is fresh and tasty — they recommended an Americano when I requested coffee(I had a four shot drink) and it was great(simple). The things that make Camp4 stand out are smiling faces when you walk in, nice energy among patrons, cozy feel and a great«off Main Street» location. Loved the license plate wall although that’s not technically their wall — it’s their neighbor’s(take note, be polite). Go. Go!

Great coffee but stay away from the microwaved breakfast sandwich. They were extremely bland but great place for a good espresso.

Camp 4 Coffee was«A-OK». The prices were good. The breakfast burrito was popular but nothing to write home about; just seemed like a bean burrito — couldn’t tell there was egg, sausage or potato in it. Service was just too«matter of fact» for my liking. Not that I need to be brown nosed but there’s nothing wrong with being a tad friendly, especially if we seemed lost with the menu. I like Americanos, but having a quick drip coffee option would be nice.

Great coffee and atmosphere, but don’t expect a smile or a friendly greeting from anyone who works there.

We were looking for a place to grab a quick coffee and breakfast burrito before heading out on an early morning hike, and this was exactly what we were looking for. Tiny place, standing room only, but the coffee, croissant, and burrito where all excellent!

This will be my first negative review, which is unfortunate but my experience with Camp4 Coffee today was unacceptable… I have been a regular customer since moving to CB over a year ago. I purchase at least one thing from them a day– they operate across from where I work and, until today, I loved the business. I try to refrain from going as much as I do, but I realistically end up spending $ 30-$ 40 per week. Even though the mountain Camp4 has gone downhill since last season and I regularly have to wait 15 minutes for an espresso drink with expired shots, I have never once complained and have always tipped the baristas more than I typically would to support my local business. Today they lost my respect and my business for good– and it was over a spoon. Not thinking it would be of any issue, and after buying a tea and an Americano this morning, I went back to grab a spoon for my yogurt(granted I didn’t purchase the yogurt there). The owner, Al Smith, later had the audacity to come in to my place of employment with one of his baristas, in front of my co-workers, to tell me that I am creating a problem by taking things I didn’t pay for. He went on to talk about things other people were taking as if to group me in with people that are stealing. When I told him I’ve never taken more than a spoon and that I buy something every day, he told me that was besides the point. He then told me that if it happened again, he would talk to my manager(as if a local coffee company’s upset owner has any bearing on my job). I felt humiliated and disrespected and have never been treated so poorly by a business owner. He easily could have pulled me aside introduced himself, and asked me in a professional way, to not take a spoon unless I purchase a food item– I would have gladly obliged. I unfortunately will not be returning and I bring with me several of my co-workers and customers. I am a former barista and am pretty familiar with coffee; if you want great local coffee with excellent service I highly recommend First Ascent Coffee Roasters on first and Elk. Don’t waste your time or your money on a business that clearly has no appreciation for their customers.

You absolutely cannot go wrong with Camp 4 Coffee. I recommend«SledgeHammer» but all beans are great. I shared a chocolate espresso milkshake which was hands down the best milkshake I have ever had the pleasure of consuming, a perfect end to a long day of riding. While the line is most often very long, the wait is always worth it and the costumer service is great. Go to Camp 4 and enjoy an incredible cup of coffee(or other!) on the attractive and clean patio.

One of my favorite coffee shops in the US. Their espresso is on point and their cappuccino(served on the wet side) is great.

Very excellent. Coffee is outstanding, perhaps my favorite in a town that has at least 3 great coffee outlets. I also enjoyed a chocolate espresso milkshake which was first-rate. The service is a bit chaotic. There are usually 3 staff behind the counter, and it all seems to be Brownian motion, from order to pickup. Consequently orders can take a while to fill, resulting in lines in a place that is too small to have lines. There is very cramped indoor seating but that is offset by a nice patio with furniture and umbrellas.

Rarely do coffee shops have food on par with their beverages. Inside this license plate covered shop, you’ll be treated to the most delicious piping hot ham and cheese croissants, incredible burritos and quite simply, the best coffee this planet has to offer. After a long day of skiing, there’s nothing more rewarding than heading to the mountain’s base and treating yourself to a mocha with house-made whipped cream or a warm, gooey sandwich. Your standard for«good» coffee will truly be raised after taking a single sip of Camp 4 Coffee’s creations.

I came here this week for my apres ski coffee. There was a line to the door when I arrived and when I left. There is a reason for this. This place rocks! Because there was a line, and I wanted to try two drinks, I got a double-shot and a latte. They were both excellent. The service was friendly and the prices reasonable. I like the little area outside for sitting/sunning. I will definitely come back next time I’m in town! Love the vibe here, and the coffee is great too!

I had read that their coffee was better than starbucks, and I and huge starbucks fan — and I’ve gotta tell ya… It’s TRUE the coffee is amazing! I had a simple Americano with almond milk and it blew my socks off! I had it at mountaineer square and again downtown. Only a 25 cent difference in the 12 oz and 16 oz so you gotta go big! My mom had a pastry of some sort which she says was delicious. The selection was great, I think they bake them downtown then bring them to the base area in a van. This place is covered up in both locations and for really good reason! I wish I could capture the delicious smell of their coffee in an air freshener. A must go to while in Crested Butte!

This hole in the wall is so charming. I was in town and tried their spiced cider. So good! Above all the atmosphere of this place is great.

We kept seeing Camp 4 Coffee every time we went to Crested Butte, and we finally got to give it a try. Superb! I had the Spiced Chai, which is house-made, and it was perfect. My husband’s Cappuccino was great as well. The whole place is so very, very Colorado and Crested Butte, and their outdoor patio area was a great place to enjoy our drinks. A+! We’ll definitely make it a habit!

A welcoming front yard with relaxing porch chairs and umbrellas draws you in. The establishment looks like a tin shed plastered with old license plates lending a rustic air. Inside the spare light bulbs gives you a feeling that you’ve stepped back into the depression era. This description is not meant to deter you rather to convey an impression of character and authenticity that is hard to come by in an age of clinically lit, sterile, non-descript Starbucks shops. The coffee is served cheerfully by two engaging women and in the opinion of my coffee snob friend, is strong enough that no refills are needed. The portion sizes are generous. As we sat nursing our coffee mugs, a steady stream of old and young sauntered in for their java. I would return just to savor the taste of this town.

Microwaved burritos and no drip coffee. Ice coffee was espresso poured over tap water and ice. «Best coffee in Colorado»? Likely not the best coffee on 4th…

I can’t say for sure if Al Smith’s coffee is the best in Colorado but it is the best I had while in Colorado. It’s all about the coffee here, this isn’t a laptop hangout. Inside can be a little cramped but there is a nice outside area to sit and sip. The coffee is fantastic! So good, I bought a mug too.
