Food is too expensive for what you get. It is not authentic tasting. More importantly, the 2 times I did go I was served under-cooked chicken. I was really looking forward to this place opening since there is not a huge variety of different foods in the area. After my first bad experience, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt(since they had just opened) and give them another try, but got served raw chicken again. I won’t go back, it’s not worth the risk of getting food poisoning. I’d rather travel a little further to a restaurant I can trust.

There’s probably plenty of reasons why this place isn’t packed at 7:00 pm on a Wednesday, but it really deserves to be. The food was tasty and the staff was friendly; the menu presentation and décor was also spot-on. Food took a bit longer than I expected to come out, but from what I could tell, the falafel and kifta kebab were prepared and cooked fresh. There aren’t many Mediterranean or Indian places around Joliet and this one has a lot of promise, so I hope they stay in business. I recommend people come here.

Thank you for response. We have visited your site before. We have waited 25 – 30 minutes for the food. Needless to say we did return. You are correct, the food is fresh however mediocre at best. However, the service was great during our first visit. This is the reason we wanted to give your restaurant another try. As per your statement food is prepped fresh, if so — why were two of the items we ordered that day«not available?» Also, your fountain drink machine had rather abnormal stickers on them — Out of Order. Communication is key. Being polite should standard with such a business as yours(first of it’s kind in Will County) We would have gladly waited for our food, if not for you employee storming off to the back, and advising your cook of our inquiry in a rather rude and annoyed manner. While you are concentrating on your fresh food prep, suffice it to say — customer service should also be a top priority. I do not have an issue for paying top dollar for a good product, and if you are certain you can provide that with good customer service — we have no problem returning and support you and your business.

I’m disappointed as it was my first time trying this place. The food was extremely bland… Tastes nothing like Mediterranean or Indian food. Sadly, we won’t be coming back.

In town for business and have eaten here twice. Plan on going again tonight. Great healthy food served with a smile. Loved the flavor of the chicken tikka and hummus.

This is one of our favorite places to eat in Joliet. Their Fusion Plate is the best deal. You get fattoush salad, kefka kabob, chicken kabob, Bihari kabob plus pita and humus for $ 12.95. I don’t eat beef and I love their chicken kabobs. Their falafel is great too. All very affordable. It’s very clean.

I’ve been here a few times, hoping that my initial opinion would change. It didn’t. The food is OK, but the service is lacking. On my first visit, I’d ordered a plate. When I got home, the rice and salad were both missing. The second visit, I received my complete order, and the food was ok. Third visit, I’d decided to never eat there again. We arrived at 9pm, on a Friday night. Their posted hours state they’re open until 10pm. When we walked in, the guy mopping the floor very visibly rolled his eyes. He barked from across the room«we’re closing. take out only». I ordered anyway. This guy was extremely rude. We knew what we wanted, and ordered quickly. Another customer walked in five minutes after us, and was met with the same attitude. when we got home, half of our order was either missing or just wrong. Of course by this time, they were no longer answering the phones. It’s too bad… Joliet desperately needs a good Mediterranean place, which unfortunately Madi is not.

My first visit to this place was awsome! The food was fresh and okay(had better), clean atmosphere and the people were really friendly. I would definitely go back!

This is one of those jems you see on your drive every day and may say to yourself«I’m going to have to check that place out one of these days». Well my friend, that day is today! Madi features a distinguished take on Mediterranean and Indian cuisine, with both dine in and take away options available. Their hummus and naan bread are delicious, and that only begins to describe the world of flavors for you to lose yourself in at Madi. Featuring moderate prices and food cooked to unyielding perfection, chicken and steak cooked so exquisitely tender and juicy that even when you are filled up(and you certainly will be!) you will be begging for more.

4 stars because it was freezing in the restaurant. Only thing I had an issue with. Food was GREAT! I asked for my Tikki Masala spicy & sure came out that way. Everything we ate was real good, it’s more Mediterranean flare than Indian & that’s ok. Prices are decent, friendly staff! I’d definitely go back! I hope they stick around bc the nearest Indian spot is in Willowbrook towards OakBrook Mall, 30+ min away.

This is a place I desperately want to be better than it is. First the good: it’s clean, the service is good(although the food takes a while to make, but I forgive them because it seems like they actually prepare everything individually versus have it sitting on hot plates in the back) and the menu is pretty diverse. The Joliet area needs more ethnic/fast casual restaurants and Madi falls right into that void perfectly. But the bad is simply that the food is bland. I’ve been here 3 or 4 times now, and I’ve tried about half the menu. No matter what it is it’s just missing that flavor punch that I’ve gotten from other Mediterranean and Indian restaurants elsewhere. I’m not sure if they’re just cutting back on the spices to appeal to a wider audience but I WANT to taste the subtle heat of cumin or smell the ginger in my food and it’s just not there. It’s also about $ 1-$ 2 per dish more than what I would want to pay for the quality of food. I hope it succeeds going forward but they need a heavier hand with the spices or some new recipes.

For starters, this is definitely a Mediterranean restaurant– it is a real stretch to add«Indian» which is what I went for and was sorely disappointed. I got the Chicken Tikki Masala– that and the buttered chicken are the only«Indian» foods in their menu. And Samosas, but they weren’t even real samosas– they were tiny triangles with the dough more like a spring roll type outer layer. Not good. The menu is small and the atmosphere feels like a cafeteria. You order at a counter and sit down. All this and it was too expensive. The only reason I’m giving it a 2 star is because the food wasn’t bad and the people were nice. But it wasn’t real Indian food and id never come here again for Indian food.

Good food at a good price point! Hope they will stick around. The location is on a busy street, but it still manages to disappear into the other stores. Had the chicken shawarma, falafel and chicken and beef kabobs. Tasty but the beef was a tad bit tough and dry. Good seasoning all around.

Chicken kebab! Only downside is not-huge portions. Very good though, and well-priced. I had wanted to try this forever and finally did recently. Rude worker but I was getting it to go, doesn’t matter.

Tikka Masala was delicious and I enjoyed the rice, salad, and pita that accompanied. The side of mixed vegetables were yummy! My daughter had the chicken kabob and was cooked perfectly, she wanted another. My husband had the shawarma(I stole a few bites) very good. My son had the chicken nugget meal and he really enjoyed them. I was very impressed with the owner. The gentleman came over and introduced himself when we first arrived and explained the menu to us. He then followed up with me after the meal to see if I enjoyed it. Which I did. We’ll be back!

I recommend the combo platter they have going on right now with the 3 types of meat, rice, bread, salad and hummus for either $ 12 or $ 13.

I finally made it into Madi!!! I’ve driven by so many times and thought«Damn, I need to get in there and order!!» Well it was in the cards for me to check them out today. I had absolutely no clue what I had a taste for so I just went for a falafel wrap. Yes I know that was so #basic but hey it would give me an idea of what the food is like. I thought the prices were a little high, and I didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg on my food and not like it. Keeping it all the way real Lockport, Crest hill, and surrounding areas have some joints that miss the mark totally! #AintNobodyGotTime4That My boyfriend ordered a beef kabob wrap, and I also added some beef samosas to the order. The beef samosas were okay. My falafel was okay-kind of on the bland side. I ate my food and thought about how boring it was. I even ate some of my boyfriends beef kabob, and I have to say it was boring as well. They served this brown dipping sauce which was pretty good and gave my food some flavor, but without it my meal didn’t really taste like much. I’m glad the area finally has a Mediterranean restaurant to go to. The food just bored me all to hell. Maybe I will give something else a try and update my review. Until Next Time!

**Updated review 3⁄19 to reflect new hours** Very warm greeting this evening, as I was hoping to finally give them a try, since I was in the area. I had previously stopped in a few weeks back for lunch, when I found out the hours had changed. They’ve tweaked them once again and have plans to open for lunch in the not too distant future. If you have an office party in the works and looking for an option they are renting it out for a day event. The owner owns the entire strip and has turned around the Meineke Car Care Center on the other end. He has spent many years in developing this concept and seems eager to get things perfect. I enjoyed the lay out and the concept. Pretty typical ordering process with nice large TV’s which have their menu. They bring your entrée to your table and the outdoor dining area should be nice once our weather turns in 5 months. I went for a wrap,(or was that a burrito) as I wasn’t hungry just yet but in 30 min. once I get home the huge wrap filled me up with just half of it, as I watched a disappointing Bulls game. The manager offered a complimentary tea or drink and dessert while I waited. Nice touch and I took him up on the offer of some black tea. He insisted I try their baklava, as «it’s traditional with your tea.» I remember a quote…” Life’s uncertain… eat dessert first” so I indulged and enjoyed the texture and taste of the treat. The tea was very flavorful. Was surprised to see a large order of fries included with the wrap and had decided to grab their Fattouch Salad with chicken, which is one of their starters, for lunch the next day. The Kifta Kebab is huge and the Tahini sauce was delicious. Looking forward to a return visit and will certainly try one of their warm dishes, as the commute home from here is certain to require any warm dish a reheat for me.
