Nice pottery shop. Reasonable prices. BUT. Go to the restroom before you get there! Two porta potties, a roll of paper towels, soap, and a hose await you if nature calls. Not sure why they don’t have indoor plumbing, but the experience is a sharp contrast to the beautiful goods indoors.

I’ve been visiting Holly Ross since I lived in PA back in 1986. I was just there last year and I hope to see them this December. Prices are fairly straightforward. Many different brands, they usually have«special seconds» outside at a substantial discount. It’s not only pottery — they have many other items to buy. Holly Ross also maintains a beautiful park on their property with a nice trail, a swinging bridge, and a picnic area. It’s a nice view if it isn’t cold out.

Come for the pottery, stay for the park. The Pocono mountains are a strange place. A vacation destination for generations, but with not much to do. Not my favorite type of vacation, but I guess that’s why we live there and vacation elsewhere. My family has lived in the general area for 17 years, so while I visit often, I’m not on vacation while I’m there. I’d not made it to Holly Ross Pottery before this summer. Now that I’ve been, I know that I will return. Not for the store, though they had many lovely items for sale and I’ll happily spend some money each time I visit. I’ll return for the beautiful stretch of land they have behind the factory buildings. Walk down a gentle slope and discover a charming red bridge. Cross the bridge and lose yourself in a quiet forest. A well maintained path will lead you to a pond. Benches are scattered among the trees, and a small creek burbles as you walk. It was a beautiful place to wander about for a bit. The next time I visit I will bring a book and a snack, and will take advantage of the beauty that surrounds this place. As to the store, they sell Polish pottery at not horrible prices, Fiesta Ware at reduced prices, and a nice collection of other brands that I did not recognize right away. They also have a good selection of gifts, including stuffed animals, magnets, and the like. The parking lot is big enough for tour busses, and I have a feeling that people are bussed in from the casinos. The drive is beautiful, and this is a very nice pace to stop for a bit.
