My friends and I LOVE fresh seafood. We stayed this past weekend in Crescent City thinking we would get our fill in a coastal town. Apparently not. We tried Seaside Restaurant & Bar and were all so very disappointed that there was NO fresh seafood to be found… even though our server fibbed and told us it was all fresh. Not even the hamburger meat was fresh… it was previously frozen with some sort of nasty filler mixed in… horrible! Everything was frozen, breaded, deep-fried and unappetizing EXCEPT for their WONDERFULCLAMCHOWDER!!! This is the only thing you should put in your mouth at this place… it really is amazing! Our server told us she was brand new and we felt for her that she has to hear all of the complaints about the cheap, ugly, frozen food that this restaurant serves. One of us swapped out coleslaw for bagged salad greens. She was later told that to swap, it’d be $ 1.50…fine, she was willing to pay that. However, when she got her bill, she was actually charged $ 3.50! This place has such potential, but if the current owners/operators continue, they’ll run it straight into the ground.

The restaurant looked clean and the views are very nice, I wish I could have given a review on the meal but we never got served. Seems the waiter staff may be too young and inexperienced enough to know how to care for a customer, We waited… and waited and watched them walk around… It wasn’t busy at all as their were many empty tables so we just left for a restaurant with a better staff.

The ocean front view is terrific. There are two menus of nightly family specials and their main menu with steaks and a page of seafood. We ordered the mussels with creamy tomato sauce which was excellent. They have a wine list of midrange wines and beers. It was quite different from the other local restaurants in Crescent City. For an ocean town I would like to see them expand with local fish. The service was attentive.

Very nice experience! The view is fabulous, of course: right out onto the ocean with rocks and surf and such. Big picture windows – not a bad seat in the house. The ambiance is modern American, very clean, bright, and comfortable. Our family of five had no trouble getting a table for all of us right by one of the windows. Service was fine. Food was yummy! Our kids had burgers and chicken strips which were above average. My wife had tequila prawns, which were tasty, with veggies and baked potato. My sushi roll – a«salmon castle roll” – was very yummy. Panko crumbs on the outside, with mango and salmon on the inside, and a tangy cream sauce on the side for dipping or pouring over. The Shanghai Fried Rice was huge and ok: crabmeat mixed into the rice, egg, green onion, and crumbled bacon. A bit pricey for what we had, but on the other hand, it was a great location and very solid, decent food in good portions and with good service. We were very satisfied.

The view is phenomenal! I ordered Shanghai Rice… was disappointed it came with imitation crab but the flavor was excellent and so was the price for the serving size. My husband’s cheeseburger was good, they didn’t shake the frier basket for the fries though… they were clumped together. The server was kind and attentive. We tried to sit at the bar for drinks afterward but it was very uncomfortable so we opted for the amazing view on the patio. They need more seating out there… no tables or chairs on July 4th?!? I would assume their Asian dishes are their best ones… seems to lean toward that being the chef’s specialty. I mostly gave it four stars because it wasn’t crowded at lunchtime on the fourth… maybe bad for their business but we loved it!

We stayed at the ocean front hotel and decided to «stay in» to eat on the property at the restaurant. I had read some bad reviews so I was leery about ordering the pricier entrees. I ordered the 8 oz burger and my gf ordered the 6 oz specialty burger. While waiting I struck up a conversation with a nearby table. Two ladies had ordered the local fish. One had the grilled cod, the other had the grilled salmon. The salmon was acceptable. The cod was way over done and sent back. After that they both seemed to think their meal was acceptable Our food arrived and the burgers were very good. My gf had the specialty burger that had bacon and a chipotle sauce on it. It was delicious. The fries were decent. My girl friend also got a piece of cake to go. The cake was store bought but it did taste good. The server was very helpful and the view was phenomenal. I would eat here again, but I would probably stick with the bar food again.

I personally think the only business this place gets is due to the Hotel that it is located in and for those who just want to say they drank wine in a bar on the beach. When I went there, he menu was incredibly small and expensive. We even had to flag down a waitress just to get some water. We ended up walking out because we knew right away this place was not worth our time, I was really disappointed.

Service woman tried but didn’t really hit the mark. When we asked for bread for the table she brought two slices of wonder bread. When we asked if they had calamari we had to explain to her what calamari was. Moderately expensive but at the same time flavorful and was on site of hotel so very convenient. I would go back.

This place is awesome! My coworker and I were staying down the street for a work trip, looking for a low key bar to grab a drink w a view. This place fit the bill. Chao was a friendly bartender and the vibe was busy but relaxed. The appetizers looked legit, though we didn’t try them personally. Would definitely recommend.

Last Sunday a couple of my friends asked if I wanted to go to lunch with them. We ended up at Seaside Restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the dining area. It was cheerful and had an AMAZING view of the ocean! We all decided on their ¼ lb burger at $ 4.99 that came with all the trimmings and just about any type of cheese you can think of. The red onions in the burger«were to die for». We decided that we all wanted their clam chowder instead of fries. I’m not an expert on chowder so I’ll waive my opinion. The burger was huge and put any fast food burger to shame. I can’t speak to the rest of the menu but I must say it’s very extensive. Our waiter Chao was delightful and conversational and the cook even came out to make sure we were satisfied, I think his name is Eric. I will definitely return for the view and maybe another item on the menu although that burger was hard to beat.

I will not go back. This is the 2nd time I have had a less than desirable meal there. This time I ordered the shrimp camarones/chicken Alfredo combo. There is no description of the item on the menu. It comes in a bowl half and half. It was HORRIBLE! First off, it’s served over rice?!? I’ve never had Alfredo served over rice. It was under seasoned and the meat was not recognizable as chicken. Secondly, the shrimp was in some sort of cocktail sauce and was way over cooked. I heard the waitress describe the dish to another patron and she said chicken Alfredo served over rice and that the shrimp was in a spaghetti sauce that wasn’t spicy. WRONG. That«spaghetti sauce» was spicy. Bottom line is I will not be going back.
