My fiancé and I stayed here for one night last night and had a very comfortable and pleasant experience. We were driving up from Maryland to NYC for a wedding and wanted to stay somewhere in NJ further south than the NYC metro area so as to have an easier commute in the morning. We knew we wanted to stay at a Marriott and looked for a location not too far off the Turnpike. This property made the cut and we decided to spend the night in Cranbury. The room was spacious and very clean. The bed was SUPER comfortable, even for a hotel bed! I don’t know what kind of mattress topper they had but we basically had to drag ourselves out of bed this morning! The staff was very friendly and courteous, and even remembered our names when we checked out. And they seem to have a little community there of people who travel frequently presumably for work. The staff seemed to know some of the guests by name and had by all accounts established a good rapport. The Residence Inn is also notoriously good about planning events and activities, and this property was no different — upon check in they invited us to make smores that evening, which was unfortunately had to miss. The breakfast was pretty standard, but there was quite a lot of it. In the hot bar they had pork sausage, scrambled eggs, potatoes, and English Muffin breakfast sandwiches with eggs and turkey Canadian bacon. There were the baked goods, cereals, granola, yogurt, a hot oatmeal bar and a Belgian waffle machine. Someone was attending the food regularly(including mixing up the scrambled eggs, like, every 5 minutes) and people seemed really relaxed and happy there. The only real downside is that their main elevator was really pretty scary(I thought we were getting stuck every time) and for some reason the hallways smelled like hospital food. Also(and this isn’t the hotels fault) the area seems kind of lame. There were a couple of cute restaurants within walking distance, but it seems kind of like nothing much else is going on.

Continued to improve; very consistent. start with the basic: always clean and comfortable Furniture is well kept even though I think they are a decade old why is it becoming difficult to find a basic good hotel like this? breakfast has gotten better, something different everyday. some biscuit egg sandwiches; usually they have pork plus separate non-pork items. of course the now typical waffle maker. Had dinner tonight. bbq chicken sandwiches or hot dogs with the typical trimmings. This chicken sandwich was better then one of the local restaurants that i reviewed on last trip service: friendly friendly hellos morning and night

Underpaid counterhelp with bad attitudes. If you are a business traveler and need a place that accomodate early flights or if you’re simply not on the 4pm check in schedule, try another suite type hotel in the area that go the extra mile and make customer service a priority. I had to sleep in their lobby for 3 hours until I got fed up and walked across the street to a hotel that was as booked up as them. The Staybridge Suites ran the extra mile to clean a checked out room ASAP so that I could take a shower and get to my meetings on time! The Residence Inn claims it takes them 2 hours to clean one of their suites. Really?
