Stopped to get a bag of peaches and was quite pleased. Also had to have their peach ice cream which was hard to beat. Will be stopping by again if I’m ever passing through

On the road home from seeing our grandad in Gaffney I knew I would stop for peaches. It had been years since I was in the area, being from Texas, and I was not particular where they came from as long as they were good. Lemmon’s peach farm was on a billboard and we stopped. I saw the ciders and my mouth watered. There was so much good looking cider. Peach(mixture of Apple cider and peach juice) was sold in all sizes as well as blueberry, strawberry, muscadine, and I’m not even sure apple was there. He could’ve been but who cared? Peaches. Anyway I bought a small homemade peach ice cream for $ 3.40 and it was a generous portion. What it REALLY was was unrivaled by any peach ice cream I’ve encountered in 26 years of intensive study. I finished my shopping with a bottle of peach raspberry vinaigrette, sweet summer pickles, hot pickled okra, peach salsa, and one each of the ciders. Topped off with a peck of peaches and we were off! It’s been 48 hours now. There is only vinaigrette left.

So many peaches! There are two locations once you get off the exit, a small shed with a limited variety of options(cash only) and the larger store(underneath the RUGS billboard) on the other side. We started at the smaller, but I didn’t have enough cash to buy what I wanted, so they directed us across 85. The larger space is still somewhat open-garage feel. They have fresh peaches in a variety of sized containers(bushels/baskets/etc), ciders, jellies, jams, vinegars, the list go on and on. Then, you can go inside where they sell their homemade peach ice cream alongside Hersheys brand ice cream. We ordered a small peach ice cream and it was at least three scoops — plenty to share! Also inside are some small trinkets, snacks, and shelves and shelves of canned goods, most made by Lemmons. Pickled everything, butters, chow chows, more jellies and jams, marmalades, it was ridiculous. They also had a limited menu for a few made to order sandwiches and sides. I believe the minimum for credit cards was $ 10. We left with some peaches, a jug of peach cider, moonshine pickles(haven’t tried yet), hot chow chow(not terribly hot, but tasty), and some peach butter. Everyone was very friendly and when I’m passing through again I’m sure I’ll stop by.

Let see… Lemmons sells… you guessed it… Peaches! I got peaches here a few weeks ago(the beginning of July) that were the size of softballs!!! Atmosphere — Large garage, hot, empty, lots of peaches, back grocery area, evidence that this place is mainly supported by seasonal traffic. Service — Friendly and local. The first spot I went to(closer to i-85) was closing and with limited peach supply. The kind lady at this site called over to their other location to make sure the ladies there waited for me. Everyone was super nice. Food — I got 2 pecks of peaches(or ½ bushel), a jar of jam, and a huge cup of peach ice cream(which…btw was awesome) for about $ 29. This was a pretty good deal as the next day when I visited the Farmers Market in Davidson they were charging $ 9 for a ½ peck. Plus, the peaches from Lemmons were larger and better in appearance. Overall — I got some really tasty peaches that were used for some even better peach cobbler. This is my location for peaches… it should be yours too! PS: They take credit cards here if your total order is sufficient in price(i.e. over $ 10).
