They nailed the organic and vegan theme and you could feel it the minute you walked in. I ordered water and Smoked Salmon with Goat cheese for appetizer. I looked through the menu and everything I read I wanted to try. Before I could decide the appetizer came out and it was ok but kind of bland. I ultimately decided on the Ahi Tuna tacos and they looked very good but just didn’t have much taste. The tuna was cooked well but lacked the flavor I was looking for. Overall it was a good organic pub with local beers but the taste just didn’t wow me.

Came here for lunch. Toad Hollow is located in the downtown area of Covington. Food tastes great and ingredients were fresh. I ordered the smoked salmon BLT. I never thought of adding smoked salmon to my BLT but it was a genius idea. My only complaint was the overly buttered bread that left my hands really greasy. But overall good tasting food.

Love this place. Nice variety of food items. Drink specials. Small seating outside. Fresh food. Often busy. Love their breakfast plates.

Came here with some friends this morning, absolutely loved the atmosphere. They use very fresh ingredients. I order the pecan trout, which was delicious. Their lunch and brunch menu was very good and highly recommend a bloody mary also.

We love Toad Hollow and eat there at least once a month for brunch. But don’t expect your typical southern breakfast or brunch. It’s creamy polenta instead of grits and turkey bacon instead of pork. Now, normally, I don’t understand anything other than pork bacon, but I’ll admit that I love their turkey bacon. And then, of course, sourdough bread for toast — and from Susan Spicer’s, no less. Let’s not forget the lemontini’s — because it is New Orleans, after all.

Last Friday night me and my husband wanted to get a quick bite to eat after work. We walked in and waited about 45 seconds and the guy behind the bar raise his phone looks at it then flashed it in our face and said«It’s 8:32 we close at 8:30» Wow! First of all, who closes at 8:30 on a Friday night? Secondly, they must have 8 tables inside the restaurant and some of them had not even gotten their food! Obviously, the manger nor the owner was around when this occurred because I would hope they would have handled the situation quite differently. With all that being said, I will ever go eat there again and I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone! Covington has so many wonderful places to eat with exceptional service and those are the place I will be going to and recommending.

Excellent ingredients, well-prepared. Delicious drinks. Best Pimm’s cup I’ve ever had. For truly fresh food, this is a fabulous choice, but be prepared to pay for what you get. With food this good, they don’t need to give anything away, and they don’t.

Love this place! We have very few true vegetarian options on the Northshore and this is by far the best… Expansive menu… The black bean burger on brioche bun is homemade and will not disappoint… I have a difficult time ordering anything else. It is that good… Can be alittle pricey for lunch and family of 4.

Superb quality of ingredients. Resourced locally and you can definitely tell. Small portions(even for a self proclaimed«one plate wonder»). Could have used a bite or two more. Nonetheless, really fresh food. Great atmosphere. Weird hours. Take a photo of the hours. And reference at any point you feel inclined to give this place a shot. When you do, and they’re open, you won’t be disappointed.

Delicious flavor combinations, fresh, healthy. Tried tempeh and loved it. Matched all previous reviews except for quiet. 1 guest speaking 10 decibels louder than needed and crying baby. When these two left, THEN it was quiet. Great food and service.

Good spot, menu was perfect. I was torn between the smoke salmon BLT and tuna melt but Ivy steered me to the melt and I have to shake his hand for that choice, it was melt in your mouth fresh. Even the the iced tea was spot on, I’m a southerner but never been one for sweet tea so I was little skeptical on the mango tea of the day but it was a solid choice, very thirst quenching and just he right touch of sweetness. Finished off with blueberry buckle, new item on the desert menu and yuuuuummmm it was, light cobbler-like and warmed with cream on top. The place is small and quaint but just right for the lunch mood I was in. Toad Hollow a hit for me and I’ll be back.

It’s not often that from the very first bite of a meal, I think ‘I can’t wait to write a review of how awesome my experience has been and is obviously going to be’. I found this place while bike riding alone and ate alone at the bar. The staff is polite, attentive and non-invasive. I ordered an iced green tea which wasn’t in the menu but the staff happily arranged it. My meal was the veggie migas which I admit to usually expecting some over cooked eggs and mushy unseasoned veggies heaped under cheese and Cisco canned salsa. My sour expectations were obliterated. This meal was glorious from first bite to last. The fresh herb eggs and perfectly executed veggies were lightly topped with an interesting cheese complimenting the truly savory favors beneath and grilled tomatoes aside. This is the best breakfast I’ve eaten in recent memory. Need I say more?

It’s a Covington staple, for sure! Great organic and vegan food selection. They even have organic vodka and wine. I get the smoked salmon and capers on Sunday and the smoked salmon BLT otherwise. Great service and atmosphere also. Very impressed!

We came for Sunday brunch at 11:45am and didn’t have any issues getting in for a party of 4. We were seated within 5 minutes. Food was just superb. The brunch trout was fabulous. The bloody mary was not special, but also not highlighted by the restaurant. We enjoyed everything we ate and would go back if ever in Covington again.

Can I just live here please? I want it nearly every time there comes an opportunity to eat out. I’ve tried a handful of different menu items and have yet to be disappointed. I’m especially fond of the soup and ½ sandwich combo – it’s very inexpensive and there’s a great variety of veggie-friendly options to choose from. The soups are unique and freshly made – recently, I’ve had sweet potato with thyme, butternut squash with pear and goat cheese, and a thick, delicious cream of mushroom(not your mom’s Campbell’s). The menu is heavy on vegetables and whole, fresh foods. Tofu, tempeh, and seitan make brief appearances, but soy protein isolate is appealingly absent. Carnivores shouldn’t be afraid of this place. They have plenty of meat options, including seafood. My boyfriend had a meatloaf dish on a chilly night and reported that it was divine. They also offer a variety of teas(iced hibiscus mint is better than lemonade on a warm day), sodas(Blue Sky brand – made with real sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup), and coffee(fair-trade, naturally). The space is comfortable and sweet. It’s a great spot to meet friends or a date. I prefer the lunch and dinner crowd – brunch can be a little chaotic and full of children. Final thought: the tempeh reuben is probably my fav sandwich. Just throwing that out there into the universe.

Perfect healthy food! Had hummus with wheat pita, curry chicken salad with Apple and pear salad. Everything was fresh healthy and delicious! Lots of vegan choices and no carb as well. Great iced tea. Luv it!

the toad hollow is an adorable little café in downtown covington. we hit the saturday brunch, and it was pretty fabulous. i had a veggie mary and the huevos rancheros. both were excellent. if you’re vegan or vegetarian, this place is super friendly for you. lots of menu items that don’t include animals. it’s pretty small inside, but that doesn’t take away from the experience. there’s limited outdoor seating and a small bar area, as well.
