So let me tell you a story. When I was growing up there were railroad tracks not far from where I lived. During the summer my sisters and I would go on the tracks and spend hours picking blackberries. We’d go home with tons of them and fingers stained black from the juice. After rinsing them off we’d sprinkle sugar on them and devour them. They were so delicious that we’d usually do it all again the next day. Blackberries are still my favorite of all the berries. There is no way in hell I’d let my children go walking up and down railroad tracks now that I’m a parent(what was our mother thinking!?) but there’s a special place that I can take them where they can make their own memories. Ridemore Berry Farm is a pick your own farm in Covington. They have blackberries and blueberries to pick during berry season which is mid May to the beginning of July. There’s also a nice little area to have a picnic if you’d like to bring lunch when you visit. You should probably arrive early because my sisters and I might beat you to it and pick all of those yummy blackberries. Seriously. All is fair in love and blackberry picking!
