I’ll be honest. I just don’t get these large parks that they plunk down in suburban areas. I guess it’s a central location for kids sports competitions. Although why existing local school fields can’t be used, I don’t know. Since it’s in the suburban areas everyone has to drive here. There’s no walking to these places. Suddenly, in the middle of nowhere, there’s gridlock. When they do hold large events(which is what I was there for) there’s never enough parking. Parking has to be done far from the venue. Me? I don’t mind walking. I kind of enjoy it. But judging by these folk’s attitude and girth, they aren’t much interesting in a nice stroll. This place seems especially unfriendly. There are signs posted everywhere telling you want to and not to do. Don’t park here, Do walk there. Walk your dog there. Put recyclables here. The Five Man Electrical Band would HATE this place. I was there for my daughter to cheer at youth football games. Even the football fields are unfriendly. For some reason, they decided to encircle each field with a chain link fence. You can’t just lounge in the grass and watch the game(or daughter). You are corralled onto those hot, metal bleachers that always, always ALWAYS encourages some five year old to bang away on with his feet. The fencing is so extreme that the crowds are all forced into certain areas. It felt much like cattle being transferred from one pin to another except in this case, the cattle smells a bit, seems angered by the half mile walk from their car, is wearing inappropriate clothing(way too tight and way too short) and is continually shouting at one or more of their five kids by three different baby daddies. In this 100 acre park I got bounced off of five times just trying to get a drink. This is a park, for goodness sake. Can we stretch out and roam around a bit? No. Stay within the fenced areas! I walked away from the football area to see what else there was. There’s some nice amenities. For example, walking trails. However, I’m not sure why you’d want to drive to a walking trail. Seems kinda dumb to me. There were jungle gyms for the kids to play on. But they looked like the ones so many of the homes out here have in their back yards. There’s a dog area. Whatever. Like I wrote, I just don’t get these places.
